Unless and until you can prove that the homicide or any other untoward incident in your house affected the physical condition of the property, you are stuck with the house which seemed like a dream before someone broke the news to you. Such properties which buyers or tenants may shun for reasons that are unrelated to its physical condition or features are called stigmatized properties.2

Logically, I would offer the option of the money that could be made in the long-run, for both of us, if the property was kept in place and rented out. We could split the profit from the rentals. I would also point out that the nostalgic feel of the property would be more of a draw than turning it into high-priced upscale vacation homes. To continue to be persuasive, I would tell a story or two of my youth and how much fun it was, as a child, to spend time in nature, swim in the lake and fish with my father.

What remains of the family that used to live in the house are their shadows as they died
In 1785, the Mordecai House was built for the Lane family. The Lane family was famous for selling land, which would soon become Raleigh. When the house was first built it was one and a half stories, with four rooms. The original owner Henry Lane died when he was 33 leaving the house to his wife and four daughters. When Mrs. Lane died the house was then passed on to the daughters including all of the land and slaves, approximately fourteen slaves. In 1817, the house gained its name, Mordecai, because a man named Moses Mordecai married on of Henry Lane’s daughters. Mordecai was a lawyer and also ran the land around the Mordecai house as a cotton plantation to support the family. After Moses died, the house was remodeled and completed

The house is an old wooden building that is rotting away but still is a good enough quality to withstand some of the test of time.
My parents purchased the 3 bedroom, 1.5 bathroom house after falling in love with its wraparound porch and backyard. The house was literally a street over from where we were renting a house that was the size of a postage stamp and with two teenage girls who were wanting more of their own space, this new house had everything. Though the furnace was on its last legs and needed to be turned off when not in use for fear that the house would explode, and that the half bathroom resembled that of a closet with a toilet in it, the sheer fact that this house wasn’t owned by anyone other than my parents made the house a home.
This large house suggests that this family was very wealthy and large at one point, but now there are only two family member left. Neither of the two descendents have any other family, when they die the house, memories, and family die with them. Cortázar is not known for happy, uplifting stories and House Taken Over is no exception. These two relatives have a huge house all to themselves and the only thing that it has to offer for them is the memories they once had. The house could be sold with a huge profit to be made from the materials, to them the memories that were built are worth more to them than any amount of money.
