I am Tristan Vigar. I am sixteen. I have a big family, which I love because I’m never bored. I live in a country house in Urbana, Indiana. I love playing and watching basketball. I recently do not have a job, but I plan to have at the beginning of next year. I enjoy going to school and learning. My favorite class would be science because its fun. My worst class would be math. I think I struggle in math because it’s hard to remember the formulas.
It was late one day in June, and the sky was as blue and clear as sparkling wine. I sat back in my hammock reading the book Unbroken enjoying myself, and my uncle came up and asked me if I wanted to play poker with him, 5$ buy in. I jumped at the idea finished my page and went inside the house. Poker is a pretty big thing in my family and I’ve grown up playing and my uncle was one of the best, so spending time with him playing poker is always one of my favorite things to do. We proceed to set up the table, “Texas Holdem“ he says, Jacks to open”. Nothing weird, so we get the game going and the pots getting pretty big when all of the sudden he drops his cards. I stare the cards dead in the eye and see that i'm going to surpass him! He looks
Hello, I am Alec Mobley, born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. My personality consists of outgoing, friendly, achiever, and willing to help others. I am very quiet and don't talk a whole lot. I usually keep to myself and tend to do things alone. When I am with my friends, I am usually the one who talks the most and doesn't shut up. My favorite thing to do outside the classroom is either watching sports or playing them. I am very passionate about sports and I love to talk about them. Ever since I was a kid, I would always have a ball with me. I love to watch and play basketball! Basketball is number one in my heart. I also like to be outdoors a lot. I really like to fish and especially like to fish with my dad. Every summer my dad and I will go up
When it comes to my passion most don’t understand it the way I do. For the past three years my passion has been lacrosse. Since I was a freshman at Sandalwood High School my interests for the sport have grown and my devotion and commitment have reached new limits. Most people don’t understand lacrosse, they just know that it is a sport “with sticks and stuff”, and while I don’t take offense to ignorance; sharing my passion with others is never a burden. Lacrosse is one of the biggest parts of my life as of now and I believe it will continue to be for many years to come, but there’s more to the sport than most people know. Lacrosse has a history behind it older than any other sport in America, as well as the fact that as of now,
It was that time of year when we went on a trip to mexico every december we go see our family down in mexico with some other people. We go beacause we havint seen them in a very long time or we justed wanted to spend christmas or new years with the family but it sometimes can be a very long ride like 43hours in a truck with you family that sounds like fun but it was totally worth it because when i to mexico my family has a lot of food ready for us to eat.
both luck and strategy that the siblings loved to play all the time. After about 5 rounds, however, they decided to put away their card game and eat something, for the time was approaching noon and none of them had eaten breakfast except Celosia.
I love spending time with him whenever I can. We get along so great and like most of the same things. We talk about equipment, trucks, top gear, business, and horses. My Dad is a very hard worker. Since he has started his business when he was sixteen he has loved every minute of it. He has taught me so much about underground drilling and equipment. He has also taught me how to ride when I was a baby. When I was too young to ride by myself I would ride in the saddle with him. I guess I can thank him for all of my riding skills. Another thing we love to do is bushog. Dad has always thought it is so relaxing to bushog the hillside behind our house with his caterpillar tractor. There are two seats in the tractor so I will always go with him. When we get done cutting we will usually go to the cabin a shoot. My Dad, Danny, Jim, Eric, and I will stay out there till its to dark to see. We will put spotlights out by the targets so we can see them better to shoot at night time. Then we will go into the cabin and eat ice cream. All of Dads cousins are a lot older than me but we always get along
It’s Monday, March 15 1943. Each day just gets harder, more people start getting sent to execution camps or how my parents tell my little brother, “a place that needs more workers.” I’m scared for the day it’s my parents getting called to leave, or my little bother, Ash. I know things will start to become stricter due to the Resistance fighters, me being one of them, which have been trying to get through the Muranowska Pokorna Wall. The number of German soldiers to barricade walls has increased. With the hundreds of us that attempted to escape through the wall, I was lucky I wasn’t killed and was able to get away without the Germans knowing I was part of the resistance. I know my family couldn’t handle losing me now. Both my parents are weak and they know that there time to be sent to the concentration camps is coming soon. I just hope it’s me who leaves before them. I don’t think I could take care of ash on my own. I don’t think I could make the situation we’re in seem any better than how it really is. He’s seven years old, but he’s had to grow up a lot faster than most seven year olds his age, everybody in Warsaw has. Tonight was the last night I will be staying in Warsaw, or at least that is what I am hoping for. It took a lot for my family to understand my decision to be part of the resistance. But they respect my choice now. I know it is selfish, and I know it won’t be easy. But I can’t hide anymore, I can’t wait around to be killed. I want to fight back even if it means maybe leaving behind the thing I love most in the world. The fights are
In the past year, I have had to take up responsibilities just like Esperanza, I am trying to prove that I have responsibility to my mom so she can trust me to do things by myself. Whenever I get home the first thing I do when I get into the house is lock the door behind me, the second thing I do is let my dogs outside and come back later to get them inside, if the my dogs are low on food I will try and feed them.
If you knew you were going to at this exact moment, would you be satisfied with how you lived your life up to this point? Do your accomplishments and overall happiness outweigh your regrets? I was eleven when my parents got divorced and the aftermath included me going into a depressive state. One quote from what is now my favorite television show gave me a new perspective on life and gave me the strength to do things differently.
I long to be free. To be free from the metal chains that hold me down. To be free from the whispering as I descend into my empty slumber. My heart couldn’t handle the pain of the immortal whispers and figures that popped up here and there trying to help or drag me with them.
My dads name is Shane and he is 43 years old. Something unique about my dad is that he only has one hand but yet he can do almost anything that a person with two hands can. The coolest thing about my dad I think is that when he was younger he played for sports with one hand; he played baseball, football, basketball and a mix between soccer and track I think. My dad is my best friend even though we argue he always is and always will be there for me. The best part about talking to
“Nooooo!” I screamed as I felt like my heart ripping out of my chest. It was beating at seventy-thousand beats per minute and I felt like I was frozen still like an iceberg in freezing water. The day had come where I was no longer needed and the government was ready to get rid of me. I heard the police sirens closening to my home. “Here take this” my mom told me as she handed me the government issued gun for my training. I was being trained as an operative that went undercover and was issued warrants to kill certain high up people in our opposing government of District 15. “Wee-oo wee-oo” The cops cars are closening and my heart is beating faster and faster. I started for the door as my mom forcefully took me into a hug. “I love you Michael, don’t ever forget that.” “I love you too mom.” And with those words I ran the front door and before I knew it the cops were already here. “MICHAEL CONROCKER, DROP YOUR WEAPON AND THIS WILL GO VERY EASY!” The police officer yelled through the megaphone. I knew that I had to listen otherwise I had a larger chance of dying than living. I slowly lowered my gun to the ground and turned around for them to cuff me. As they cuffed me I could sense my mother’s longing stare from the foyer window of our new home that I had just bought. I felt the rigidness of the police officer’s hands as he forcefully tightened my hands into handcuffs. The officer cuffing me was one of my best friends who knew that if he didn’t do what he was told that his day
