There are many qualities a presidential candidate should endure, however, as a high school student I believe that if someone wants to rule our country, they should strongly be able to have the ability to create trust, temperament, and persuasiveness. These qualities will powerfully help the presidential candidate to have leadership competence, communication and negotiation skills, hospitality, and take better decisions. A presidential candidate may have a great campaign that will let the citizens have an idea of their priorities, however, they don’t have a political perspective of the difficulties of running our nation. Honesty is a huge conflict between the candidates, because they need to be trusted by the American people; they should have
Understanding the political environment as well as knowing the weaknesses and downfall of his or her opponent the potential president candidate is able to structure his rhetoric in such a way that it enhances his chances of winning as well as being effective while in office. The president must at all times guard what he or she says as well as be mindful of his rhetoric whether at debates, at town hall meetings, Congress hearings, or at the State of the Union Address. There is really no room for era within ineffective rhetoric. His rhetoric must be accurate, clear, and relevant to persuade the majority to ensure reelection, institution of good public policy, and
There are three main character traits that a President should have. Trustworthiness is important because the U.S can't have a president that will lie. The President needs to be able to communicate with the people in order to be a good President. If a President has empathy and compassion then they will know how the people of their country feel.
We hold debates between the Republican and Democrats before the primaries, and then we hold debates between the two remaining presidential candidates. Upon first glance it may appear that the presidential debates are held to get to know the candidate’s positions on the various issues that are important to the American people; however, the format of the debates make it difficult to accomplish that task. Instead, it is more plausible that these debates are held in order to discover what the candidates are like personally because the debates provide ample opportunities for us to discover the candidate’s values. Ultimately, we want to find out the values that these potential presidents have because we want someone we trust to lead the
A president should be honest at all times being reliable at doing what they say.Otherwise at having courage to do the right thing. All presidents should have kindness, compassion, and forgiveness to other people like us and president.By the way, obey the law at all times and protect the environment for eveyone in the United States. Why presidents should.
One more important factor would be the candidate’s character and personality. From his parents he picked up the values of hard work and integrity. Nixon has been described like this by Robert Finch, “He wasn’t nearly as attractive, physically, as some of the other candidates, but he was so intense; he was a strong personality. You regarded him as a comer, someone who would be effective and successful in political activity. I was impressed by his obvious political skills, his intelligence, and his drive (Strober 31).” This definitely sounds like some qualities that would make a good president and the public agreed by electing him President.
Presidents should be honest, trustworthy, and have the best interest for their country. Many people often vote for who they truly believe will have the best political power. Over the many years America had dictated the best president to their knowledge. Some people do not choose the best president yet they choose what 80% of what the crowd is rooting for.Such as the president who is going to run for the 2016 Donald. Donald Trump should not be our next president because he does not have America 's best intentions.
It is common for presidents to arrive as potential candidates after engaging in other major undertakings, political or otherwise. The third qualification for a president, then, is that they should have an honorable reputation and past history. Tied in with this, is the criterion that the president should have had prior positive leadership experience, where they acted honorably and did not do things such as use bribery or engage in questionable practices. It should also be easy for them to gain the respect of the people.
One of the beauties of being in a democracy is being able to let the citizens decide who they want as their leader. Enter 2016, an election year for the United States America as politicians prepare for campaigns in hopes to be elected President. During an election candidates set up their platforms discussing the issues that matter, issues that America has plenty of. From immigration reform, to healthcare, to gun regulations, the United States has no shortage of problems that need to be addressed. Both Democrats and Republicans present solutions as to how such problems can be resolved. When the right person is picked for job, it is simply amazing what can be accomplished. President Barack Obama,
President-elect Donald Trump shocked the nation in October when a video from 2005 surfaced in which he repeatedly made vulgar comments about women. The presidential hopeful can be heard sexualizing women, using a host of four-letter words, and perhaps most notably, bragging about sexual assault. Indeed, the portion of the video gaining the most traction in the media included Trump saying “when you’re a star … you can do anything” including “[g]rab ‘em by the pussy.”
The Valley of the Kings is located on the west bank of the Nile River opposing modern day Luxor, Egypt or Ancient Thebes. The Valley of the Kings is dry and deserted but is still considered a very rich in archeological locations in the world.
Every four to eight years Americans go through the long presidential elections process. With every presidential election comes new stories, secrets, and learning more about presidential candidates personal live than most Americans want to know. Jennifer Wiener wrote an article in the New York times called, ‘The Love Story Primary,’ saying that America’s should know everything about candidates’ personal lives. Candidates have made their personal lives America’s business. The politicians have used their spouses and children, incorporated them as part of the story they sell to American’s by putting them in their ads and brought them on debate stages. But Americans do not need to learn everything about presidential candidates and their personal lives.
When election time comes around, the question everyone should be asking is, “What are the qualities of a good leader?” Edmund Burke said “All persons possessing any power ought to be strongly and awfully impressed with an idea that they act in trust, and that they are to account for their conduct in that trust to the one great Master, Author, and Founder of society.” Edmund stated here that he believes a leader of any sort should trust in God, and give Him the glory for their accomplishments, for He is sovereign over society. However, in a country like this where the opinions of the people really do matter pertaining to the future human leadership, the people must be sure to have the right ideas of what a leader should look like. Generally, qualities that
Who would make for a good presidential candidate for the upcoming election? In my opinion, I am a very liberal and open-minded person. So when I am asked this question, I always say Bernie Sanders. I believe that everyone should have a fair and equal shot at what they are doing. Bernie Sanders is one of the only few candidates that is not taking his money from special interest lobbyist his campaign is funded by the people of the United States.
As the United States prepares for the coming presidential race in 2016, circumstances throw into question which qualities a candidate should possess in order to be successful and make a positive impact on the nation. Looking into the past, one can surmise that the best leaders must be brave, and filled with indomitable courage, compassion, and hope. The president is one leading millions and making key decisions which have enormous ramifications. As the leader of a nation, he or she speaks out in times of joy and crisis, setting the tone for the entire government body.
In the movie “The Candidate” I thought that the film was very interesting to me, being a person that has never been interested in politics. I found it interesting even though I am not for sure if this is the way that campaigns are run now. I thought it was nice to see how some candidates may be chosen, especially in this film because he was not expected to win the election. He was not even interested in politics although his father was once governor. The film showed how the campaign was ran and managed by his advisors. Although not expected to win the election, he somehow
