Robert shows power as he says, “‘Strength through discipline. Strength through community’” (Strasser 24) This is the foundation of power for The Wave. The Diary of Anne Frank is a play by Frances Goodrich and Albert Hackett about two families and a man who go into hiding to keep safe from the Green Police and Hitler. Anne Frank's Diary is not a novel of the imagination. It is a diary kept by a young Jewish girl for the two years she was forced to be brought into hiding by the Nazis of the Jews of Europe. The Wave is a story by Todd Strasser that takes place at Gordon High School during the Vietnam War over a period of nine days, but, this is not just an average high school drama story, there’s much more to it. First , Otto Frank is as courageous as Superman. This is affiliated with the thematic statement because he have chosen to be brave and out-there as a part of his life. Being courageous is a very challenging goal in life, but Mr. Frank has managed to achieve it. Mr. Frank achieved this when he went downstairs. He could have, by a chance, given his whole family away to the police, but he was so amazingly brave that he took that chance. Mr. Frank is courageous because in the book he claims, “‘If they’ve found us, they’ve found us. Get the water. I’m going down’” (Hackett and Goodrich 60) The first quote proves the first claim made in this paragraph because Mr. Frank goes downstairs and it was very perilous. Since he is so brave, he took that chance so the family formed inside the annex would not live in such panic until Miep came after the weekend. This shows how he isn’t just brave, he goes above and beyond for others’ protection. There are multiple brave people in the world, such as Helen Keller. She overcame the dual disability of being both blind and deaf; many people are now safer with the treatments spreading everywhere. Kids were beating each other up because of the wave and Robert was kind enough to step-up to the plate and attempt to keep Mr. Ross safe. Robert shows his bravery in The Wave because he asks responds to Mr. Ross, “‘I’m your bodyguard’”(Strasser 26) The third quote supports the third claim, and this is because Robert took a huge risk and didn’t hesitate and this also shows how loyal he is. He didn’t worry, he just went for it. This is related to Mr. Frank in The Diary of Anne Frank. This because both Mr. Frank and Robert show this by not putting themselves first, even when it may not be the easiest thing to do, they still managed to put on a show. But not for themselves, because throughout everything they are always modest. Somethings are hard to achieve, and by achieving anything like courageousness can result in a well directed lifestyle. Lastly, Robert is good-natured. This supports the thematic statement because he is always a positive person and he is a little desperate. If you are desperate you tend to be really mean, or really nice, but not really in the middle. Robert chose the really kind route.
