Numerous researches has determined that positive reinforcement is the best option to increase and encourage a certain behavior to develop a desired outcome or event, to name a few, by Jennifer L. Diedrich,2010. She had stated that positive reinforcement had a significant change in her student's thinking and the way they act. Using this as basis, the research will identify the effects of both positive and negative reinforcement when it is given off by parents to their children when in concern to their general average.

Spanking has done significant changes towards the children's cognitive thinking and awareness. Donald M. Baer stated through his research, Effect of Withdrawal of Positive Reinforcement on an Extinguishing response in Young Children, that some parents claimed that they have spanked or slapped their children and it has done some good by significantly changing one's behavior and codifying their attitude towards them. Yet it is widely believed that a punishment either by physical means or verbal manner may result to the breach of a the human's or child's rights, causing this to be ineffective in this era of development and justice. B.F. Skinner also had his own version of reinforcement which was called operant conditioning wherein rats were subjected to an experiment, also known as the Skinner box. The rat was put in various situations of each kind of reinforcement, positive and negative, to identify the animal's behavior and its response to these. Nevertheless, the study will continue to observe and to determine which of the aforementioned kinds of reinforcement will be claimed as the best option in molding a child and affecting his or her general
