Where should Pony boy stay, in a foster home, or with Darry and Soda Pop, his family? We are all gathered together to decide if Pony boy should be send to foster home, or stay with his brothers. Pony boy should stay with his brothers. There are several reasons why Pony boy should be better off with his brothers. Some claims are because his brothers know him better, nothing bad will happen to him, and home is a better place. Although this may be true, begin sent to foster home is no fun at all. In a foster home, are kids that you do not know, and it be really packed with lots of kids. First of all, Pony boy should stay with his brothers, Darry and Soda Pop. They know him better than any other person that would be in the foster home. For
I think that pony boy should go into foster care because being around the greasers is messing with his life because they were always getting in fights or jail on the other hand they also look out for him based on my prior knowledge pony boy needs the guidance of adults and not the guidance of the reckless violent group of boys that get into jail every other day .
Ponyboy, 14, lives on the rugged East Side with his two biological brothers, Sodapop Curtis, 17, and Darryl Curtis, 20, who both double as half time parents and work part time to pay the bills. Both of his biological parents have recently passed due to a car accident.
Two boys, Johnny and Ponyboy, are our valiant heroes. Not even over the age of 18, two boys rescued 5 young children, who were no older than 8-years old. While bystanders watched and worried, only 2 from the crowd had courage to go save the children. They gallantly sprinted in a run as soon they heard children screaming in a burning church. According to our sources, Ponyboy was supposed to be in a boys’ home because his parents died when he was little. Instead of sent to a boys’ home, he was allowed stayed with his older brothers and they are his guardians, and they all stay together as long as they don’t do anything transgressive. A previous hearing at court confirms Ponyboy is not on the borderline of going
One reason Ponyboy should not be living with his brothers is that he was running away from the police, charged with murder. Ponyboy was with a friend in the park when he gets jumped by Socs, the group of rich kids. When he is getting drowned in a fountain his friend kills the Soc. He then goes on the run where he has to hide in an abandoned church for a long time. Children should not be running away from the police. If he had a responsible parent, was with adults that looked after him and didn't let him get into trouble, it wouldn't have happened.
Darry has assumed the responsibility of guardianship for Ponyboy and Sodapop, since the death of their parents. He no longer sees them as siblings, but rather as responsibility. Ponyboy, Sodapop, and Darry have unconditional love for each other. They give each other support, love, care, and nurture each other. They had their ups and downs, comparable to a blood family.
The fact that Sodapop doesn't know where they are hiding, and still wants to make sure that Pony and Johnny are OK, proves that he deeply cares for both Pony, and his friend Johnny. When Pony does return, it is under sad circumstances. When Johnny and Dally die, Pony becomes sick because of his grief. On page 160, Sodapop explains the events that took place when Pony was unconscious, “‘We stayed with you so much that the
In the novel “The Outsiders” by S.E. Hinton, Ponyboy and his brothers struggle between fighting too much with them and the socs and this leads Ponyboy to runaway and hide in a abandoned church. The problem is that If Ponyboy doesn’t behave he will go to a system for boys and live over there instead of staying with his big brother Darry .What should happen is Ponyboy should stay with Darry because Darry always works and takes care of him and buys him food and helps Ponyboy with school and cares about his education. He also supports his brother Sodapop at the same time as he is with Ponyboy.
The reason that Ponyboy should stay is before he only lived with his brothers, he lived with his parents and siblings but, their parents unfortunately died in a car accident and his brothers and friends are all he has left and it would not be right to take him away from the people he is close to. A quote to support this are, “What would it be like, i wondered, in a different ceiling? What would it be like in a different bed, in a different room? There was a hard painful lump in my throat that i couldn't swallow.” (Hinton, pg.
In this class, there is an argument about if Pony boy should go to foster care or if he still could stay under his oldest brother's care. In my opinion, I think Pony boy should go to foster care. The reason why I think he should, is because he is hanging with the wrong people. If he goes to foster care he would do better, because he would be away from bad influences. Hanging with the wrong people could get Pony boy in trouble with the law. He could go to juvenile, because one of his friends could have shot somebody and Pony boy could have been blamed for it. That is why I think he should go
In conclusion, I strongly trust my instinct that Ponyboy should have to go into foster care for a variety of reasons that all can not be explained. Ponyboy will have a much greater life in foster care. Reasons for that are he will have a better life, health, and will be paid more attention to then compared to what he had with his brothers. Because of these reasons, that is why I believe that Ponyboy should have to go into foster
Another good reason about Ponyboy going to a foster care is he would get better treatment. Over at Pony house for breakfast they eat chocolate cake and that is not the best thing for a kid to be having in the morning. A kid should get a proper meal every day not crap like that every day. In foster care Pony would get a proper breakfast and be feed good and be treated good.
Although this may be true foster care is a better place for Pony Boy to go. Even though his brothers are taking good care of Pony Boy. Its just a few things that are negatives. For example his brothers let him smoke. Also he wants be out all night getting into gang related activity.
Ponyboy will not go to foster care. He stays with his family, he need his family to support him, protect him from other gangs, and have better lives with people that knows him and loves him. Foster Homes is not a safe place . There are 45% white kids in foster homes . Foster home is not a fun place to be. Ponyboy needs Sodapop and Darry . Ponyboy doesn't need foster care. Pony Boy needs a stable environment . Even Though ponyboy brother Sodapop and Darry are young . Soda is 17 years old, he holds down a job. Pony boy loves soda a lot. Because he is like a dad to Pony . Darry on the other hand is more strict on Pony about grades, fights, and being home on time. For example Darry doesn't like pony boy skipping school, not doing homework, and begin late home.
At the end of the book Ponyboy finally comes to terms with the deaths of Johnny and Dally, and he finally realizes that violence is not the answer when he makes up with Darry. Darry and Ponyboy are shouting at each other, and Ponyboy asks Sodapop to take his side. This causes Sodapop to rush out of the house, and Ponyboy and Darry chase after him. When they finally catch up Sodapop tells them he feels sick of being pulled apart by their fights. Ponyboy sympathizes with Sodapop as he says in the text: “Darry and I did play tug of war with him, with never a thought to how much it was hurting him.” Ponyboy suddenly understands what his fighting with Darry has done to Sodapop, and later in their conversation Ponyboy realizes why he never got along with Darry: “I saw that I had expected Darry to do all the understanding without even trying to
Ponyboy and his family show a family loyalty that is constantly being tested. During the book there are moments where we can see the flashes of loyalty. However there are other moments where there is none for each other or themselves. Darry has a ton of loyalty by not going to
