Thank you for working with Poise. She really enjoys her placement, and I see a difference in her in such a short amount of time. Poise is very excited about having her child closer to her.She along with her CASA worker is very eager about getting Journey there as soon as possible. It's been difficult trying to meet the needs of both children, so Chatham DFCS appreciate Benchmark working with us to help both dependents. Poise would like overnight visits with her daughter Christmas Eve to Christmas, but due to Ms. Martin having arrangements already planned she is unable to fulfill this request. Do we have a better prediction of when the house will be ready for Journey? I'm trying to see if the soon to be foster parents for Journey will be able
Dionnie Williams & Jaziaha Lawson are placed in Ms. Holland home. The home is not a pre-adoptive home and Dionnie and Jaziaha have expressed that they do not want to stay at their current placement long term. Dionnie and Jaziaha were in respite care from August 12, 2016 to August 14, 2016 at foster parent, Bashera Grove home. Jaziaha and Dionnie have both expressed to me they would like to be placed in Ms.Grove care long term. Ms. Grove is a pre-adoptive home and is interested in keeping the girls long term. I believe it would be best to place Dionnie and Jaziaha in Ms. Grove home before the start of the new school year. Please let me know what your thoughts
She thanked and said will contact the DHS/CW Gresham office to follow up the status of her
Foster care is usually intended to be a temporary placement; reunification with the family of origin is the case goal for over 50% of cases. For other children, foster care is intended to be a long-term care solution. Placement in a foster family can range from several months to several years (U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, 2012b). Foster families can be diverse and complex family systems; foster parents may also have biological, adopted, or step children who permanently live in the home at least part of the time (referred to hereafter as permanent children). In addition, foster carers may feel tension between being a parent to foster children, and conceptualizing foster care as a job, which can lead to more permeable

On 9/20/2016, Issac was placed in a kinship foster placement with the paternal aunt after a waiver was completed. A referral was done for a home study to the DCF Hyde Park Office on 9/23/2016 and the home study was assigned to Ms. Jeannie Serrano. Jeannie Serrano from the Hyde Park Office had been out to the home and made recommendations to foster mother about the home. During the home study and

Clarence foster home is stable. There is no risk of placement move or disruptions. The home does meet his needs.
His foster care goal is to return home and he was just placed into foster care on October 6, 2016. Jonah’s 60 day disposition foster care hearing is scheduled for April 6, 2017 at 11 a.m. in Appomattox County, Virginia. He is maintaining contact with his mother and sister over the phone, but no community visits have taken place thus far. Jonah reports he wants to have a visitation with his mother and sister as soon as possible because the communication and face-to-face visits help him to maintain happiness and mental stability while in foster care.
Heaven enjoyed her time at the Fall festival. She learn about some of the farm animals, she went on a horse ride, enjoyed conversations and some quality time with her sister and peers. Heaven participated in activities, such as building a scarecrow and pumpkin painting. The Plann Respite outing was successful. Heaven was positive, she listened when being redirected and or when being given instructions. The outing was a break for the foster parents, the outing provided the caregivers with relief, it also prevented caregiver stress and exhaustion
Inquiries into the mental wellbeing and “child friendliness” of hopeful foster parents should be a top priority. It should also be a requirement for foster families to be reviewed or at least monitored over the course of a few years to determine whether or not they are good parents. There should also be an increase in awareness regarding familial abuse including ways to identify it and help those who are victims of abuse.
An example of a first impression moment that I was proud in was when I was working for Soma Intimates. I working as a sales associate and woman from Oregon came in looking for a bra. From what she told me she, there wasn’t a Soma where she was from and she had little to no idea about what her bra size was and what type of bra she wanted. I took her around the store and found examples of the type of bra she didn’t want, which helped narrow the search greatly. Once we had an idea of the style she was looking for, I measured her and she began trying on bras. I continued to help other customers in the store but stayed close by her dressing room to make sure everything was going okay for her. Eventually she found a bra that she loved and was extremely
One way Maurice William’s faces problems in the foster homes is to have a meeting with every foster parent under their program every three months. In this meeting, all issues are discussed in great length and an appropriate procedure to deal with each specific problem are agreed upon and implemented so that the problems do not come up
Permanency planning starts as soon as a child comes into foster care by providing family engagement and support services, simultaneously to children and their families to achieve permanency (Lopez, Del Valle, Montserrat, & Bravo, 2013; Goemans, Vanderfaeillie, Damen, Pijnenburg, & Van Holen, 2016). The desired outcome of permanency planning is to connect foster children to a permanent family, whether it is through reunification, placement with a biological family member (kinship), or through adoption by a non-relative family (Biehal, 2014). Research shows the quickest route to permanency is through reunification over kinship or adoption, making it the primary permanency goal when children come into foster care (Akin, 2011; Boldis & Tomlinson, 2014). However, research also indicates that if reunification does not occur within one year of coming into foster care, the chances of a child returning home drops to 19%, increasing the overall time
■ Individual Planning for Children and Young People Living in Out-of-Home Placements: Policy and Procedures (May 2007);
Of the “big three” questionnaires within presence measurement, the ITC-SOPI displays greater methodological concern can at all levels of its development than both the SUS and the PQ. Its use of factor analysis post-experimentation on a sample of much higher variability (in both age and SES) and nearly quadruple in number to its nearest competitor provides the instrument with considerable statistical power (Lessiter, Keogh, & Davidoff, 2001).
