The only problem, that occurred while on the initial visit to the prospective foster carer, was how long the process takes to become a foster carer. It was explained on the visit, that the next step would be skills to foster course. However, the nearest course was fully booked and so the prospective foster carer would have to wait for the next available course. Overall, the process could take up to 1 year, however the prospective foster carer believed she could foster sooner. This was the only difficulty for the prospective foster carer and the social worker, as they cannot speed up the process even though the foster carer has substantial potential.
I think keeping orcas in bondages isn't compassionate. To keep orcas in a zoo for show is satisfactory, however it is unfair to leave them for life in a water tank to stay there until they die. I saw the film Blackfish and now, I dislike SeaWorld. They think more about benefit than creature welfare. Keeping these conscious creatures prisoned for an expanded time causes them internal mental harm, as confirm by a few executioner whale assaults on coaches. SeaWorld Stimulation required a major explanation when the film 2013 narrative about a portion of the executioner whales, the most forceful one being Tilikum, a 12,500 pound male who assaulted two coaches. The film sparked many individuals to wake up and quit supporting, SeaWorld's three marine
Allison Flanagan Mrs. Jessica Berg Composition 250 20 March 2024 Past Traumas of Pogo the Killer Clown A study found that, “on average, 50% of serial killers have experienced psychological abuse, 36% have experienced physical abuse and 26% have experienced sexual abuse” (qtd. in Munjal 1). As a result, killers struggle to express their emotions, due to the fact that at a young age they learned showing weakness or helplessness led to vulnerability. Serial killers cannot connect with their victims, allowing them to commit horrific crimes with no emotion. One of these serial killers, John Wayne Gacy, killed and tortured thirty-three young males in the Chicago area.

I chose to do “The Interesting Narrative of the Life of Olaudah Equiano” by Equiano himself, an autobiography written in the seventeenth century. I like how it’s an autobiography and which he writes the important parts of his life. It’s interesting to see how a free African American became a slave at a very young age and to experience everything he had gone through to buy his freedom back. Within every experience he had, there are many different topics in between his work: Christianity, dignity of Africans, freedom and liberation, and sailing. Perhaps some people read it as an overall autobiography, but there is always a deeper meaning in between the lines. I will dissect the themes that’s in “The Interesting Narrative of the Life of Olaudah Equiano” to explain and stretch out the deeper meaning in each topic. Having a better understanding in his work with other New Critical Responses perspectives.
Raising children is one of the most important responsibilities in any society. Today, working parents have many options, but what about those children who have neither a mother nor father? What about those children who come from broken and abusive homes? In such cases there are often few choices. Parentless children may be placed in orphanages or in foster homes. Ideally, foster care offers children more personalized attention than would normally be available at a public or private situation. However, orphanage care is notoriously uneven. While some children are indeed in loving homes, others find themselves neglected or
from the state, leading to revision of the state agency policies and regulations and also the initiation of the new program to create extra support for child welfare.
Over the years, foster care has evolved into something much greater than in the past. It has become modernized and more diverse. There are three different kinds of foster care; emergency care, traditional or regular care, and therapeutic needs. The system helps children who have or are suffering from abuse or neglect. “Children in foster care may live with unrelated foster parents, with relatives, with families who plan to adopt them, or in group .
The average child is born into a loving family in the United States, but the other six percent are not so lucky. Some children in today’s world are unfortunate enough to be born into unfit families. Many of these children are thrown into foster care and taken away from these “families”. A serious debate in today’s society is whether or not foster care is a safe for children, or a trap.
According to the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services, the main goal of foster care is to one day return the children to their families. To this end, they are assigned a caseworker who is responsible for working with the foster family, the child, and their biological family or caregiver, providing them resources and ultimately facilitating the child returning home. Foster care has been around for years, it is a place for kids with no families to go or for kids who's parents didn't want them. It isn’t all bad. When someone gives up a child, they are giving someone who wants a baby/child and can’t have any, a chance to be a parent. There are a lot of problems with the system. That is why people should keep an eye on the child, they do not understand why things happen to them. If one foster child says they are getting abused someone should watch them and they should have surveillance cameras in all rooms of the home to ensure that the children there are not mistreated. The foster care system exists in order to enhance the lives of children whose parents were deceased rather than because of abuse today. Our outlook, principles, and ways of being concern for and protecting abused or neglected children and looking after families has shifted greatly throughout history. In this paper I will discuss and inform the readers on the three main components. The first part will discuss the foundation and growth of the foster care system as time pass. Secondly, describe the contemporary state of the system within the United States, including pertinent statistics. Lastly, considering future guidelines intended for the system, including ways in which the system can progress throughout the time.
The study consisted of 12 parents who foster children ages 2-8 years old. The high levels of conduct problems among children in the foster care system and the added cost to families, society and services, there is a pressing need to support foster parents. Providing foster care to children with increased emotional, behavioral, and medical needs requires not only time, but patience in dealing with the child’s demands. Foster parents often voice they are unprepared to meet demand of children with increased behavioral and emotional needs and adolescents in their care. This situation can result in placement disruption, which further strains foster care resources and has negative impacts on foster children and youth. The incidence of conduct disorder
When an adolescent comes into for therapy there is really never an easy task of finding out what is going on. Adolescent that come in who are part of the foster care system will add another degree of challenges. Children and adolescents that are put into the foster care system are not there because they choose to be, they are there due to some event in their life putting them there.
