The word philosophy is defined in the dictionary as the search for human life. There are five different aspects of philosophy: metaphysics, ethics, aesthetics, epistemology, and logic. The first personal view that I will address is the nature of students. I believe that every student can learn but I also believe that learning occurs at different levels. I am studying the field of physical education and my goal is to teach and inform my students about the importance of physical education, certain health issues and

Education is important because children need to know how to come up with the best solution when they are faced with difficult decisions or problems. Students will learn as they are taught. If a child is pushed to do his/her best, then that child will succeed. If a student is always praised, he/she will strive to succeed because that student will know that they are special and that it is very important for him/her to do their best.
As a teacher, I hope to get across to my students the health benefits that physically active people will have. With this in mind, I am going to teach them about their bodies and the lifestyles that can shorten their life. I believe that being physically fit can help strengthen a person mentally, spiritually, and emotionally and enable them to feel good about him/herself. A person who is physically fit and feels good about him/her self and their body image will most likely have a positive outlook on life. Teachers must let students know that all that is expected of them is their best. If a student is praised and guided by the teacher, they will succeed and become confident in themselves. Students will share their problems if they can trust the teacher to be supportive and understanding. As a future teacher, I have many beliefs as to how teachers must be to themselves and to their students. First and foremost, teachers MUST love children. If a teacher goes into the education profession and does not love children, they are not only making

What I want the most in my students is that I want every single thing that I teach them will give them an opportunity to do that activity for a longer period of time and everything should be a real lifetime physical activity. Other than teaching and expose student with a various kind of activity, and teaching specific skills and teaching team sports, I also want the content that I used in teaching match up with national standard of teaching physical education and health. I also want to be someone who are able to teach my students basic motor skills and the movement patterns that they need to use in order to perform a various physical activity. In order to encourage the students to participate in daily physical activity I also need to ensure that my students really understand what it means by healthy lifestyle and I want them to take responsibility and show a good social behavior not only in my class but also outside the classroom. Physical education should be a fun class, but fun does not have to mean chaos. I believe in a structure that will allow the students to have fun in a safe way. My lesson plans will be structured so that students are constantly engaged in physical activity. I feel that if I can keep students moving and learning, then the chances of misbehavior will decrease. In elementary school I feel that Instant Activities should be used to get students moving when they get into my class. High school is a little different. I feel that students at the secondary school level should be introduced physical fitness activities that will help keep them in shape later on in life.
During childhood our body and mind changes very fast. I believe that nowadays parents focus more on the brain developement of their children than their physical activity. When I was a little girl - over 20 years ago - we spent most of our time outside playing, running and enjoying fresh air and being in movement. Physical activity of children can secure them health and well being in their adulthood as well as teach them a lot of very importants aspects like social relations and behaviors in different situations.

Obesity is the condition of being seriously overweight. It is now considered a global health epidemic by the World Health Organization (2000) (McDevitt & Ormrod, 2010). Physical activity is important to children in the middle childhood age group because a staggering amount of children have become overweight in the last few decades and teachers play a role in preventing obesity by becoming a positive role model,
The perspective of this paper is to develop a philosophy on physical education and then explain what kind of job we plan on having later on in life and relate physical education to that. The purpose for developing this philosophy is to try and get the most out of the people I’m working with on physical education, whether it is an adult or adolescent.
The controversial topic in the realm of physical education is if physical education should remain in schools. Higher up’s are complaining about test scores and suggesting that cutting physical education programs would lead to better test scores. Technically, this would lead to more time spent sitting in a desk and listening to lectures in class, which is supposed to improve test scores. So, the solution to increase test scores is to take the small chance of physical activity that children receive during the school day and keep them almost completely sedentary for six-plus hours. When physical activity is restricted during school hours, children do not regain the lost physical activity after school, resulting in children who remain
