Physical Education is an essential part of any course. The profits of participating in a Physical Education class are beneficial to the total wellness of the student and may well be the only physical activity the youth is exposed to. I think that the kids need to learn how to stay fit. The kids get shortage of exercise during their school day. Therefor the students need to get physical movement during their day. Physical education provides the students with varieties of workouts for the kids. The students love to go to PE because they get to be with their friends and they get learning they need to get about their body. Being mobile is vital to these kids they like active and they would be more alert in class.
Across the country schools have been cutting out gym or recess from their daily schedules. Teachers and school districts desire better test scores from their students. Therefore, they want to have their students study and practice more. But in fact, studies suggest that adding a physical activity program or increasing the amount of time students have physical activity may be more beneficial to students and their test scores. There have been thousands of studies on this topic. Some involve recess, others gym, and new studies are centered around taking breaks in class. All this research has shown that activity can help kids with their test scores. In most studies, more than 50% of students’ test scores were positively impacted by increasing the amount of activity during the school day (“Association” 6).
Physical education should be a fun class, but fun does not have to mean chaos. I believe in a structure that will allow the students to have fun in a safe way. My lesson plans will be structured so that students are constantly engaged in physical activity. I feel that if I can keep students moving and learning, then the chances of misbehavior will decrease. In elementary school I feel that Instant Activities should be used to get students moving when they get into my class. High school is a little different. I feel that students at the secondary school level should be introduced physical fitness activities that will help keep them in shape later on in life.
Everyone knows that physical education helps improve a person’s overall health. Students that are physically active and participate in physical education courses are less likely to make bad decisions that could possibly affect their health or change their overall outcomes in school. Physical activity can also help improve circulation, raise endorphin levels, help reduce stress, affect the students overall mood, and can also help students to be more attentive in the classroom.
The perspective of this paper is to develop a philosophy on physical education and then explain what kind of job we plan on having later on in life and relate physical education to that. The purpose for developing this philosophy is to try and get the most out of the people I’m working with on physical education, whether it is an adult or adolescent.

A person might remember in elementary school a certified physical educator instructing the class, for example, on learning to run, balance, stretch, and climbing rope. Then, in spring, a big relay event would happen, and all the students were able to race, or show off the skills they learned through the year. At these events, every student won a prize, whether, first, second, third, or recognition of achievement for each race. Today, many people still have all of their ribbons to remember the achievements during physical education class in grades kindergarten through sixth. Today, children should have an opportunity to learn fitness in grade school, additionally, when physical education is paired with a healthy diet children will be able to develop into adulthood making essential life choices about fitness and wellness intuitively. One of the main goals of the organization is to improve and support high standards in physical education. Their definition shows that Physical education develops more than just the body. It is important that students also have the opportunity to develop emotional and social skills gained through physical education classes. If the students do not receive these skills it can have a negative effect over their lifetime.
The ethical debate throughout the United States is whether or not schools provide physical education programs. In the state of Kansas, school districts are not required to comply with the physical education standards, therefore, the time committed to physical education in schools during the week is wide-ranging. Evidence shows that physical education programs combat obesity, stimulates brain development, increases academic performance, creates healthy lifestyles in children which is associated with a decrease in future health care costs. Oppositions to providing physical education programs include school districts have the autonomy to decide what standards to follow and funding priorities are needed elsewhere. To facilitate change in the lack of physical education in schools, the school districts in the state of Kansas must comply with the state standards for physical education. To accomplish this, the state should specify standards more clearly, provide more funding to physical education, and support with more education regarding the benefits of this change to the school districts.

Behaviorists believe that positive or negative reinforcement shapes behavior. This positive or negative determines whether the behavior will happen again. Research suggest that physical education and activity is a positive way to change behavior.
