Leadership philosophy: Enthusiasm, connections and a goal for positive change; these are the three most crucial ingredients in the making of a good, successful leader that makes people happy. Positive change is key since it is the end goal, but first must come enthusiasm. Commitment and dedication for change in the world steam from enthusiasm and create an open atmosphere where effective communication can take place. Connections are the building blocks of leadership and fuel to continue. They are the support, the network and the backbone behind successful leaders. Finally, Leadership is the ability a person has to create change and effectively move a group forward though either intellectual, social or physical change.

Who has ever wondered how their philosophy of leadership came into existence? Do exceptional leaders possess something others do not? The two questions have a direct relationship to each other. The answer to each question is becoming an outstanding leader takes work and dedication for achieving continual self-improvement. An amazing leader is always growing and improving themselves, as well as, others. Furthermore, if the individual as a leader is not continually improving, then growth will cease and future expectations become disappointments.
When I think of a leader I look back on how many people in my life that have helped me to get where I am today. My parents are authority figures in the sense that they are the ones that showed me right from wrong. There are the administrators that helped me along my way with school and completing all of the work that I needed to in order to make my way in this long road called life. Finally there are the instructors that have shown me the ways on how to become a leader myself. When I think of the word leader I do not think of myself right away, but now that I have taken on different roles in my life I have realized that maybe just maybe that I could become my own leader.
A leader is someone who guides and motivates you. Leadership is a responsibility, and is very important. Without leaders what would the world look like? People need leaders to help, aid, and guide them through tough times and make important decisions. I play multiple sports, and they all have a captain to make sure everything goes right, and is there for the team when things do not. Leaders set an important example for others. Overall, leadership is putting others before yourself, and showing the world that anything is possible.
1. I believe a true leader, leads from the front. A leader is the first in all, showing the way, sets an example to all. A leader is trustworthy, loyal and approachable. A leader will support policy and always do what is right. A leader is looked up to and promotes motivation. A leader will take care of his crew, from his most subordinate to his commander. A leader knows when to allow others help and looks for innovative ways to improve. I would follow this leader and I wish to be this leader.
As a leader, it's important to know yourself. In fact, I believe you can't lead if you don't have some basic knowledge of who you are as a person; like beliefs or strengths and weakness. My leadership must incorporate not only my positive attributes but must be willing to make changes with aspects of my personality that don’t work. Admittedly, I am sensitive and also passive. I tend to avoid conflict as much as I can. These characteristics might lead to issues of weakening my leadership. Being a leader to me shows having to show a strong front to most people. That doesn't mean a person should compromise who they are. I have to have a certain image when I enter a classroom. I can learn to be more assertive and have a firm voice in a classroom. I looked at the Johari Window website, to see what results I would get on their quiz.
To me, it is important that you give back what you have gotten from people around you, your community, and your school. Volunteering gives you the opportunity to help others, meet new people, and also learn new skills. In one of my volunteering experiences I was able to not particularly, learn but build on my leadership skill. Leadership to most, is an arbitrary term used to define a person’s ability to direct a group of people. But what most don't know is that, leadership is not only one type of person, and the traits of leaders differ depending on each person as well. However, even with this being true, all leaders better their environment and maintain a positive environment in which makes working in a team more efficient. One example of leadership and it’s traits accompanying it as well, would be when I partook in a final exam review for psychology at Houston Community College and helped college students prepare for the exam.
Among society, there is a common longing for success. Success, however it is defined, is only achieved through leadership in some form. Whether a person becomes a public leader in his church, in his country, or simply a leader in his own life, it takes a leader to put in the effort to achieve one's hopes and dreams of success. Leadership allows a person to acquire the means necessary to meet a personal goal and ultimately reach this idea of success. Utilizing leadership skills is how I will achieve my goal of becoming a surgeon.
Leadership is defined on Merriam-Webster.com as “the power or ability to lead other people”. This definition is weak at best. Throughout my career, I have witnessed this form of leadership applying control of power, simply leading by giving direction, guidelines and instruction. There never seemed to be any care for if they were actually inspiring the next generation to follow in their footsteps. This seems counterproductive at best. In my experience, I have found that I always worked harder for and trusted more in a leader who I was able to connect with, admire, or look up to. Recognition from an admired leader inspired me to do more. So my philosophy on leadership is: Inspire those around you by respecting them, giving recognition, coaching and finally lead by example.
My leadership philosophy is all about people, to elaborate on this principle I believe that Soldiers are the Army’s most precious assets as a fighting force. I believe that leadership is treating Soldiers with respect to influence them in order to achieve their full potential and strive to provide them with mentoring along the way.
Leadership. Like all ideas leadership can be defined in a variety of different ways, and so it become challenge to choose just one way to word such a definition. To me a strong leader is one who can effectively develop an idea which they can they can then achieve by conveying this idea to others and motivating them to reach the goal with themselves. I have no doubt that I possess some of these qualities but certainly not all of them. I believe that I am quite strong at developing a process to reach to reach this said goal, and also at directing people to reach the goal by following my plan. At the same time I am aware of certain leadership skills that I lack. The most predominant one for me would most definitely be my difficulty in establishing
Leadership Philosophy 1. I am passionate about goal achievement and the victory in personal excellence. 2. I believe in retaining valuable relationships through a creative, personable and compassionate experience. 3.
Every individual has his or her own definition of leadership. In order to develop my leadership philosophy, I needed to describe leadership in my own words. Simply put, leadership is taking ownership, setting a positive example, and motivating those in your unit to follow your lead. In addition to understanding leadership, the USAF core values and personal experiences have helped shape my leadership philosophy: Moral courage – commitment to achieving organizational greatness through teamwork, caring, and trust.
Leadership means to me is more about people than self. This is the foundation of my leadership philosophy. A good leader creates opportunities to his or her subordinates to be success. I believe that actions speak louder than words. Therefore, I think leading by example is one of the most effective leadership quality out there. As a leader, I think the ultimate satisfaction is when you know that your subordinates are capable of carrying out organization mission successfully without you. These were the facts I had on my mind about my leadership philosophy. I visited CDR Brown to get his opinion about my vision on leadership.
In the course of our lives, we all have had and will have many experiences that change the way we think leadership works best, molded or modified by our surrounding environment. Before explaining my philosophy, it is important to first understand what philosophy means. According to Queens borough Community College “Philosophy is not a picking and choosing what body of thought one would like to call one's own or would like to believe in; a choice based upon personal preferences or feelings. Philosophy is a pursuit.” Simply put, it is the way we react to puzzling and contestable concepts through a type of thinking.
Leadership is an inventive process that aligns professionals with a goal, objective and or vision statement. It displays your belief in the work that you are outing in for others. Leadership must always emerge and support a visionary statement for what you as a person believe in. Leadership is believed to be the art of leading others to deliberately create a result. In leadership, leaders exemplify themselves as a guiding tool for others in this case for teachers. Leaders must show commitment and work ethic in this all that they do.
