Why is marijuana against the law? It grows naturally upon our planet. Doesn’t the idea of making nature against the law seem to you a bit . . . unnatural? -Bill hicks. Since 2016 there has been a recorded of 1,246,170 medical marijuana users. There’s millions of valid reasons for the use of marijuana. So why is there such a down look on medical marijuana? Medical marijuana is cannabis and cannabinoids that are recommended by doctors for their patients. Sadly the use of cannabis as medicine has not been accurately tested due to production restrictions of governmental regulations. Many projects suggests cannabis can reduce nausea and vomiting during chemotherapy, improve appetite in people with HIV, AIDS, and reduce chronic pain and muscle spasms. If you were terminally ill and the only relief you had found was in illegal plant, would you use it? If you son or daughter suffered daily from hundreds of seizures and marijuana happened to alleviate her pain, would you allow her to use it? If your mom had stage 4 cancer and marijuana was the only thing that relieved her nausea, would you look at her differently for using it? Families across the country are facing this decision on a daily basis. I knew this kid for a little bit through high school that used medical marijuana for his birth defect, and to see how THC can help a human with such tragic problems is just amazing. Also there are no cases where someone overdosed on medical marijuana. You just simply can’t. I seen first hand in high school how marijuana affects kids and they are just happy and worry free. Not causing distractions just in there lane doing what they have to do. Marijuana use can be used to treat and prevent the eye disease glaucoma, which increases pressure in the eyeball, damaging the optic nerve and causing loss of vision. Marijuana decreases the pressure inside the eye, according to the National Eye Institute "Studies in the early 1970s showed that marijuana, when smoked, lowered intraocular pressure in people with normal pressure and those with glaucoma."
