Abortion should be legal, because there are too many things that go wrong. A women could be raped and need to get one because she doesn’t want to look at the child and doesn’t want to feel it grow, freedom of choosing what to do and how government involvement in personal decisions such as this could lead to potentially having the government deem how many children you can have or even how many pregnancies you are allowed, medical reasons for abortion, and the ability of a woman to have control of her body is critical to civil rights.

If the fetus’ right to life outweighs the mother’s right to decide what happens in and to her body, then an abortion may not be performed.

Every woman believes in women rights, freedom of choice, and control over their own body but women are not able to determine if those rights include a second person. There are many reasons why women get abortions such as rape, their finical stability, the pregnancy was a mistake or birth control failure. resulting in an unwanted pregnancy, the women could be on drugs which could result in the baby being born with a birth defect. Lastly a woman continuing with the pregnancy could suffer from mental or psychical problems that could endanger the women the women of the pregnancy. Society have many views on pregnancy. Many people are for it and many people are against it. Did you know that each year almost 1.2 million Americans women have abortions, in result each year there are many riots and protest because of the abortions? To many people abortion is murder but murder is not a moral principal that the people who are against abortion stand by. It’s hard to make a moral judgement about what one does especially if you do not have a moral standard you stand by. The best way to handle abortions in society is to allow every woman to be entitled to their own decision with their body when it comes their body, but everyone handles the topic abortion differently. Everyone have a different view on abortion and because of that there have been many violent acts.

Each person, man or woman has a right to their own body. A woman has a right to dictate what happens to her own body and the right of self-preservation. Judith Jarvis Thomson stated that “Some [anti-abortionists] won’t even make an exception for a case in which continuation of the pregnancy is likely to shorten the mother’s life; they regard abortion as impermissible even to save the mother’s life” (Thomson, 2013, p. 298). These anti-abortionists renounce abortion even if it threatens the life of the woman, they see more value in the fetus than the woman.

Honestly, people just need to open up their eye’s and understand that it's murder and not just a choice. If she is the one that undergoes the stress that comes with childbirth, then it should be her right to ,and her right alone to decide whether or not she wants to go through it or not. Not doing so would violate her right to freedom of choice, as well as lead to unsafe abortions that could harm the mother (Nair, 2010). Another question is how could you kill a fetus or embryo when it is the same as a human being? Which begs the question, if the fetus is alive, then so are the eggs and sperm? Abortions are done in many different ways and at many different times of the pregnancy. There are six different types of abortion. (1) “RU-486 is a drug that produces an abortion. It is taken after the mother misses her period. It can be used up to the second month of pregnancy. It works by blocking progesterone, a crucial hormone during pregnancy. Without progesterone, the uterine lining does not provide food, fluid and oxygen to the tiny developing baby. The baby cannot survive. A second drug is then given that stimulates the uterus to contract and the baby is expelled. Women who abort with the drug RU-486 experience nausea, severe cramping, vomiting and bleeding. But the resulting emotional distress may have even more impact. Rather than being “over with” in a few minutes (as in a surgical abortion) this abortion could last for over a week. Then, when the woman finally does abort, she will expel a tiny dead human being - her baby. (2) Suction-Aspiration. In this method, the cervical muscle ring must be paralyzed and stretched open.

To clarify abortion is the termination of the fetus in the mother’s womb typically by chopping up the baby into pieces with a knife, cracking its skull and vacuuming out its brains, or with the drug RU-486. It’s the women’s choice if she wants to abort her baby. Some people believe that it’s the women’s body so it’s her decision. For example, some women are asking to abort because she got raped and harassed by a man and become pregnant with his child. She decides to abort the baby because it’s too painful for her to cope with what has happened to her.
