I believe that would make an outstanding addition to Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc. and will embody the mission to Achieve and to inspire service in the public's interest. All leadership qualities such as scholarship, character, citizenship, leadership itself, and service should be exemplified as an NJHS member at Claughton Middle School! However, one quality that attracts my attention the most is "leadership". This outstanding quality drove me to believe that "leadership" should symbolize our school's organization, National Junior Honor Society.
Our primary target is to educate younger kids since studies have proven that if teens are educated at an early age there is an 85% chance they will not use tobacco products. LDC Consulting want to introduce our curriculums to the youths in the Metro Atlanta area so that we can catch those at risk before they are introduced to this deadly “Legal Drug.”
Our family has been blessing people by providing a food pantry out of our home for the community for the past two years; before that we did a food ministry out of our church for six years, blessing thousands of family a month. I am very active in our current church, i run the soundboard and the computer/projector during Sunday service. I'm always willing to help others, I have 1700+ volunteer hours over the past seven years. Currently i am holding a 4.00 gpa in my college classes and I'm on the schools president's list. I've recently applied and have been accepted in the Phi Theta kappa honors society.
I have heard about National Junior Honor Society way before Middle School. Students who are members always are exemplary students and are of good characters, well enough to be my role models. Ever since my elementary years, I have maintained all “A”s grade, I always have interest in leadership and service, and I always thirst for a challenges and accomplishments.., things that I know will make a good fit to be a member of this prestigious organization.
My most meaningful accomplishment is finding my inner leader and learning to believe in myself. For many years I was extremely shy and I let this deter me from enjoying activities outside my comfort zone. Growing up I never really believed enough in myself to find my leadership abilities. It was not until early in my college career that I began to truly see my potential. My freshman year of college I began to open myself up to the possibilities around me by joining clubs on campus and making connections with those around me. The one organization that truly changed my outlook forever was Phi Beta Chi National Sorority. Within my sisterhood I began to open up and see myself as the leader I knew I could be. Once I had this new found outlook I
As a member of four national honor societies, I believe my presence in those organizations has made me a good candidate for the College Scholars program. I was invited to the National English Honor Society, Rho Kappa (Social Studies National Honor Society), National French Honor Society, and National Honor Society. All four have enhanced my academics, social skills, and intuition. In the National English Honor society, we are challenged to utilize our writing skills for the betterment of our community. Our main project this year was creating little messages that promoted suicide prevention. We would then attach the message to a knitted heart and hang them all around our school. Rho Kappa has gifted me with an appreciation for the United States
In my opinion, the function of an organization such as the National Honor Society is to have a group of students, who volunteer and excel at academics; join them together to make the community a better place. The National Honor Society and its members are people who put aside time to involve themselves in the community. This elite organization expects their participants to maintain high grades, volunteer, and involve themselves in other activities. If I am chosen to be apart this organization I would contribute in National Honor Society by helping our school, and community.
Growing up, most kids in my generation had Disney Channel or Barbie Dolls. As I was raised with 6 siblings and cousins and having just emigrated from England, my family did not have ample money to expend on cable or fancy toys; subsequently, I resorted to books. As I read more and more, my interests began to broaden, and my keen admiration and curiosity for how and why things work in certain ways progressed. As I grew older, I realized that science could be used to answer many of life’s most complex questions. Once I was accepted early into The University of Georgia, I declared my major as Biology with a pre-medical intent, deciding to further pursue my curiosity about living organisms. I soon realized that I needed to achieve more, and decided
I am genuinely honored to be one of the few students considered for acceptance to the State College Area High School chapter of the National Honor Society. I feel that my hard work and dedication in academics is beginning to show through. Throughout my life, I have shown drive and devotion for everything in which I have been involved, ranging from athletics to academics. My mentality has always been focused on helping others. For this reason, I aspire to become an orthopedic surgeon so that my career will evolve around helping others to get the most out of their lives. My summer will be spent volunteering at Phoenix Rehab for fourteen hours each week as it will allow me to begin providing care to the community. Currently holding an unweighted
As a freshman at the University of Maryland, I am pursuing a Masters degree in Computer Science with a specialization in Cyber Security. I formerly attended the Academy of Health Sciences at Prince George’s Community College, a dual enrollment program in which I graduated with my High school diploma and an Associates of Arts degree in General Studies. Having a unique experience by attending these different school has allowed me to become familiar with technical communication in a multitude of ways, whether it is in the work place or school related. Being vice president of the national honor society, being a barista at Peet’s coffee shop, and with being fluent in multiple languages I have used technical communication to encourage people to “take action” in a multitude of ways. Whether it was influencing people to join the national honors society or trying to get customers to buy a new coffee drink, I have consistently been able to encourage others to “take action” with whatever it may be. Over time I have learned the do’s and don’ts of being a technical communicator, and I now understand what must be done to accomplish a task through technical communication.
For the past three years I have been convinced that although I was in classes with the smart kids, I was not one of them, but maybe, I am different after all. I was raised with the expectation to have a perfect GPA and to grow up and do something amazing to make a lot of money. Because I did not have a 4.0 GPA from the start, I was under the assumption that I was not smart or good enough and therefore would never qualify for anything, especially not for the National Honor Society. But I worked hard, I pushed myself as far as I could, and never gave up, even through tough times. I made sure that I put forth my best effort and finally, my Senior year, I believe that I meet the standards for which the NHS is looking for; scholarship, service, leadership, and character.
Peer health educators play an integral role in increasing awareness of various health issues on campus, and are a source of inspiration to all students. It would be a wonderful opportunity to be a part of such a rewarding experience, and that is one of the foremost reasons for my interest in this position. Not only will my skills be a valuable asset to the team, I will also be able to glean valuable skills. My extensive experience as a tutor has given me strong teamwork and communication skills, allowing me to work well with others and effectively accomplish all kinds of tasks.
As I sought out to become a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc. I saw that the organization matches my personality and what I stand for. My true passion is to make a difference in this world, I desire to make a significant impact on the lives of the youths to inspire them to reach their full potential. I know that Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity was established to accomplish the same things that I do, this is one of the many reasons I aspire to join this great fraternity.
