objectives. An obstacle is that I do not have time and do not really know how to work on it and improve it. What supports the process of change is that I am motivated to work on my patience because I know that it is important to not look unprofessional. Nevertheless I could develop good problem-solving skills from several difficult situations. In eight year of customer service I have faced nearly every day a new problem and I became really good in fixing them. I lead a team with approx. 45 employees from different nations in Miami which was not easy for me because of the different cultures and behaviors and I was by far not perfect in that. It was a German company, in Miami with a French boss and most of the employees were Hispanic. Sometimes it was …show more content…
Nevertheless the job provided me with teaching skills and I became a very enthusiastic person. Beside my mother language German I speak English, a bit of Arabic and Spanish and really want to improve Spanish as an immediate objective as well as Arabic. The obstacle is again a lack of time but a supporting fact is the large Spanish population in New York. I have time management skills and learned to be flexibility. Since my former company asked me to run basic trainings, I am good in public speaking. Some skills I have that my family appreciate are critical thinking, respect, team participation, prioritizing, self-discipline and good organization skills. I have to work on some characteristics apart from being patient as immediate objectives. One of my weakness is that I am sometimes too afraid of everything. I have this problem for more than 25 years and the obstacle to change it is that no-one knows where is comes from. So again I do not really know how to change it. My motivation is that I have a strong will to work on that. Another weakness I have is that sometimes I do not have
Throughout the group article exercise really did showcase who's personalities were strong and who's personalities were not. Having a strong personality means that you are willing to listen to other people's opinions but will debate on it by logical thinking of how you came across your answer rather than people with not so strong personalities meaning they agree with the group decisions. Through my personality, it will really show how I came across my conclusions, how the group came across their conclusions and how the group is influenced by the decisions made through the online assessments.
Then I realized that I could eventually learn to adapt to anything else with time. My supervisors should not expect me to learn it right then and there but over a length of time. I created a stressful environment for myself as many of us tend to do which led to anxiety and stress, an unhealthy way to live. I fell asleep determined to go to work the next morning ready to approach the upcoming obstacles; instead, of avoiding
There are two main personal weaknesses that have troubled me. Public Speaking to large groups is my first, since intermediate school I struggled with this problem but managed to control it becoming staff of the Junior Honor Society, mainly working with others while I also
Self assessment is a process in which you examine yourself in attempt to discover and learn more about yourself. Your likes, dislikes, behaviors, attitudes and habits can be found during this process. You can use the discoveries to your advantage by accepting or changing strengths and weaknesses. I plan on using this course to enhance my personal skills to become a better student and find success in earning my Bachelor of Arts degree at Ashford University in Social Science. Self Assessment is the first step in my successful future.
Maiya means goddess of spring and Munroe means man from Ro. I was told my mother named me after Maya Angelou because of how much of a powerful and influential person she was. My mother added an “I” in my name to make it unique and also so I wouldn’t bring shame to Maya Angelo if I turned out to be a horrible person. The photo I chose was a photo of a lady taking a photo of the Eifel Tower. Conducting research helps me understand why this photo describes me and why I chose photography for my career path.
INTRODUCTION Personal project is platform given to MYP year 5 students where they explore and discover new talents and skills about themselves over an extended period. My personal project consist of process journal, outcome and report. Personal project encourages students to participate in a sustained, self-directed inquiry within a global context. This project has enhanced my various skills such as communication skills. I encountered many obstacles throughout the project but had a very good learning experience.
My main priority was to revise assignment three, the personal essay since it was more valuable than the other two major assignments I have written throughout the quarter. In this essay, I found a lot of defects that directed to the confusion to the reader to understand the truths of my life. In this essay, there were a lot of different techniques I learned such as changing a personal truth to a story in a piece of writing. Another technique, I learned was to make my essay better by including the environment and images in my essay. To make the audience see a better picture of the story and make them feel like they are doing the same actions as me. However, this essay has a very different style of writing than the other two major assignments I have written.
In terms of subjective well-being, I like to believe that that I am moderately well-adjusted at this point in my life. I consider myself a happy person as I am physically healthy and am in the process of bettering my life by returning to college. I also have much to be thankful for as my mother as well as my grandfather, whom helped to raise me, both recently, went through a few years of very bad health but they are now in better health. I believe that, at this point in my life, I have no reason to be unhappy so I am trying to live my life in a way that will make me even happier in the future.
To gain happiness, people believe that they should have to change everything about themselves. Meanwhile, when they change themselves they would eventually go back to their old habits. It’s imperative that you’re happy with yourself and have determination to change for the better. The wrong determination to have is to try to fix everything that has gone wrong in their lives. You would need to plan how you’re going to change the way you live. Also, plan how to bring happiness into your life. Assuming changing my relationships with people, how I think of cognitively thinking about things around me, and change the way I see the world.
The greatest start to the best speech is a good topic. The topic needs to be modern, up to date, interesting and fun. All of this is depending on your audience as well, so you wouldn’t want to give a speech on the first phones invented to fifth graders. The topic should appeal to the audience, and since most of my speeches will be done in my communication class my audience will be current college students just like myself. This makes it a little easier preparing a speech because I am a college student as well, so I have a bit of an idea of what may or may not appeal to my audience. There are many things that I need to consider before giving a speech, things like, how to be fully prepared with my information, how to not bore my audience to death,
For one, I did not know how to manage kids who did not follow directions and were hyperactive. I am working with 3rd-4th grade students and it is not easy. When the program began, there were a group of boys who continuously did flips and ran around the classroom. They would not budge or take a seat when asked to. The students did not care at all and found the classroom like a playground. I was becoming more and more frustrated with these students because I had never dealt with children like that. After the first week, the students began to behave and it was a start to bond that will continue to grow. The reward from this was that I learned to be patient, kind, and easy on them. I did not know that I had the ability to take charge and deal with hyperactive kids. Another challenge I faced was deciding on what to wear every day because I did not know whether or not an outfit was inappropriate, too formal, or not-so-casual. I absolutely hated waking up every day unknowing what to wear. It would sometimes make me late for breakfast and I often hesitated to ask my supervisor. I felt like it was a stupid question but I needed to clarify. I was afraid to talk to her. To overcome this challenge, I asked my supervisor on how should I dress and if the way Im dressing is fine. As stated before, I have to do what I have to do even if I dont like it but its a responsiblity I should take care of. I felt comfortable talking to her after that and I continued to talk to more co-workers. I stepped out of my comfort zone. These challenges were worth the fight and I was able to withstand them. In the end, I gained the ability to be patient and know what to and what not to wear for a
The Self Every situation that an individual is exposed to throughout life, helps mold our “self.” As humans we have the ability to see ourselves from the outside, and all through life we try to see what others see and our “self” revolves around the generalized other. We observe how others perceive us and we make conclusions depending on our observations. How we act around others depends on the image we feel they have towards us.
I was a Sr-Moderator on this server for good 6 months where I experienced many
“Writing is something you do alone. Its a profession for introverts who want to tell you a story but don’t want to make eye contact while doing it” -John Green
For as long as I can remember I have been told to constantly strive for more and never settle for less. It wasn’t until one day when I decided to chauffeur a few friends to a local creek that I began to change my personal opinion in regards to exceling in the workplace. During a conversation, my friends and I got on the topic on how each of us was doing. One of us said “I’m good, I’m not overwhelmed or underwhelmed.” and someone responded, “so you’re whelmed?” This simple and somewhat odd question caused me to think about things differently. I decided that the idea of “whelmed” can be defined as being completely content with the current state of your life and self, be it physically, mentally, emotionally, spiritually, and financially. The idea of being “whelmed” caused me to wonder why it isn’t okay, to just be okay. I believe that the society that we live in has conditioned us to believe that more is better and happiness is only achieved when you have the most recent top of the line inanimate object and enough left over money to splurge on things you don’t need. That way of thinking has caused America to become an individualistic society. You hear the phrases “This is a dog eat dog world” and “fend for yourself” and it shows that there is an underlying drive to make it to the “top”. And once you finally get to the top that is when you are successful. But if you’re not fighting to get there then you are doing something wrong. This nonstop fight to excel in the workplace
