What you Should Know About Me
What should you know about me? This is a very hard question for me to answer, but I am going to give it a try, and we will see what we end up with. School isn't necessarily my strongest suit, but I am a very athletic person. At the beginning of the school year I play golf. This year I am the number one varsity golfer. Just a few days after golf ends, I start basketball. Basketball is by far my weakest sport, but I enjoy it because it keeps me in shape for the rest of my sports. After basketball, comes my favorite sport, softball. I play softball for the high school, but I also play softball on a travel league all summer!
In my upcoming years, I plan to go to college at UF and become a Florida
There was very many trials and events during this time, so much so I could write a book so this is really only the tip of the tip of the iceburg.
Starting high school can be a little scary, especially when you have no guidance from siblings, like me, being the first one from my family to have an education. But that did not stop me from succeeding, I?ve always been confident and determined. I?m an enthusiastic when it comes to trying new things. Who would have thought I was going to be a good athlete plus a book geek, when in my past years I was just a regular kid. I was pretty excited about joining a club that had a connection with high school, that way I didn?t have to start from zero, I always want to be a step ahead. Fortunately, in summer, a high school coach was recruiting freshmen for running either cross country or track, they both involve running, so I considered it like the same sport with different timing. And this is when it all started. Running
Have you ever had something happen to you that changed your life forever? Something that you will never forget. It’s something that makes you who you are whether it is good or bad to makes you special. I know it’s hard to believe that one event could change your whole life but I promise you it can. A major life changing event happened to me on July 20th, 2011. This is the day that my youngest sister Carly was born. On this day my whole life was changed and it will never be the same again. July 20th I said good bye to my old self and started taking steps to become the person that I am today.
Everyone has a story of how great an astonishing their life has come to be like getting a chance to travel the world, getting awards being popular, or even helping out in the community. Well, to be honest, that's not me and this is my story. My name Rebecca Alexandra Gomez I arrived into this world on October 7, 1998 around 11:25 AM at the Humber River regional hospital in Toronto. I lived in Toronto for about three years of my life than from there I moved to Brampton. I was raised by my beautiful parents Lorena Gomez and Guillermo Gomez I have two older siblings Tatiana Gomez Who is currently 24 years old and my brother Christopher Gomez who is 22 years old growing up I can say that my childhood was a very special moment
Have you ever felt robbed of a childhood? At the age of six, I was placed into the DYFS system. I moved from house to house, not really having the chance to grow up like normal children. I didn’t get to experience things such as ; asking my older sister advice on boys, learning how to cook grandma’s favorite recipe, or going on family vacation to Disney world . I worked hard to get where I am right now. My experiences have made me of who I am today , my story will tell you my background, where I came from and why my application is incomplete without it.
I was born in the 2000’s but I’m a complete 90’s kid. I grew up watching 90’s shows and listening to 90’s rap. I grew up listening to only rappers like Nas, Snoop Dogg, Tupac, Ice Cube, and also the rest of the rappers from N.W.A. I grew up watching people like Dave Chappelle and Chris Rock on tv. Growing up listening to 90’s rap music made me have a big appreciation for the lyrics in a song more than a beat. In 90’s rap the beat is always pretty miniscule and unelaborate. Most of today's rap has terrible or not understandable lyrics and just has a good beat.
Organize my food by shopping time. Using one of the shelfs for each grocery-shopping period.
I enlisted into the United States Navy and shipped off to boot camp on January 1, 1996. The Navy gave me an opportunity to escape a small town, stand on my own, and grow as a person. My first duty assignment was in Millington, Tennessee working as an administrative assistant to the Officer in Charge of Personnel Support Detachment, Memphis. I could never say the roads I took in life were easy, but looking back over the years every stop along the way had a purpose and I have been truly been blessed.
What do I feel you should know about me? I think as myself as a well-rounded student all together. I think you should know that I enjoy English much better than math, and a large percent of my other classes. Sometimes, it takes me a moment or two to understand a new lesson. At other times, I catch on fast. It just depends on if I can wrap my head around the concept we are learning. When it comes to writing papers I tend to get writer’s block quite often; however, when I think of something to write, I try to stick with it and add more and more to that subject. Occasionally I procrastinate homework (don’t we all), but I try to stay on top of things. I do make sure to get all of my homework in on time.
My childhood was fun. I got to hangout with family a lot more. I would go over to friends house and play videogames. I would play hide n seek with a group of friends. Life was a lot stressful because school was easier for me and I had less responsibilities.
Who am I? Well that’s a great question that I don’t even know if I can answer, but I can tell you how I became the person I am today. I started dance at the age of two years old. I started competing in dance competitions at 6 years old and I still continue to dance. This might seem like a trivial fact, but in reality, it has shaped me into the person I was today. Dance has taught me not just to dance, but how to be a leader, how to work in teams, and how to see a new perspective of things. It has also taught me how to manage my time well, because all through school I was keeping good grades and dancing 20 hours a week. It wasn’t till high school, when I had some medical problems arise, that I had problems with juggling everything.
In this essay, I will be talking about some of my characteristics and answering the question of who am I?
When life begins, I believe each person has a story to be told. The story of my life, may not be an ordinary life experience. Many things have shaped and changed me into who I am today. I believe that think that has the most effect on individuals, are the people they meet and those who shape their lives. Here is the story of my life and who and what made me into the person I am today.
“This raises a major red flag in your direction. Makes me think you aren’t telling the truth.”
In the first telling of my personal narrative, I did not consider including what had led me to a point where I began to embrace my identities and become proud of my heritage as Korean. There were many factors that led me to be who I am today. The reason for leaving out the information was because there were so many people and occurrences that led me to the point where I am now. For example, moving to different elementary school where there were more diverse body of students, annually performing at the Mosaic in the Korean pavilion, my parents being a positive role model, and becoming a volunteer teacher at the Korean Language School are some of the reasons which have led me to be who I am today. As I was surrounded by people who were interested
