Every summer since third grade my Mother would put me through her version of summer school. While my older sister Vanessa had the summer to relax.

Over the summer Megan and I went to Wisconsin with her family . It was an outstanding trip with my best friend. We went to many different places and got all kinds of things. We stayed for 6 days. We stayed in a cabin on Lake Twin.

My sister invited me to her house in Sugar Grove, a small town right outside of Chicago. My two sisters, Lilly and Grace were coming with, to spend the weekend with my sister and her fiance, Mike. After packing everything we needed for the weekend, we drove 2 hours and 30 minutes there.

Last summer before school started my sister and I were told that we were going on a trip to Ute Lake in New Mexico. We had never been to New Mexico before, so we were super excited. We were told that we were taking my dad's cousin's jet ski with us. My sister and I could not wait to go to New Mexico.

We packed everything we had into U-Haul in the safety the night provided. In about four hours of continuous packing our roots were lifted. We headed due south to a place called High Island, Texas. I had only been there one time before when I was little. The justifications of why we chose High Island, which was six hours from our home, was one of my aunt’s lived there and the distance from home was great.

It was in the summer of 1999 when my family decided to take a camping trip to Colorado. I was a typical 15 year old high school student, which meant family vacations were "lame" in my eyes.

The day came, we had to drive about two hours to the Milwaukee airport. The plane ride was about two and a half hours and

12 hours. At the time, it seems like such a long trip. 12 hours on the road. Little did I know that in those twelve hours I would come to place that would change my outlook on life.

We drove for a solid 4 hours and then pulled into a gas station to fill the tank up and eat. After that we drove a little longer and then we pulled into an RV park.
