My Trip To Sioux Falls

Yankton, South Dakota. The place where the world competition for archery commenced and concluded. As I disembarked at South Dakota, I wondered why the World Archery Association held the biggest youth archery competition at this ghastly venue. Blegh. The dung of cows and the fresh scent of the earth fused together was horrendous. To make things worse, the airport was humid, outside was even more humid. Everywhere I went, humid.

I expected to go to North Dakota and be bored out of my mind. I thought that we were going to be fishing on a boat for 8-10 hours a day. I am a very impatient person so sitting on a boat in the middle of a lake, not being able to swim because there are hooks in the water sounds absolutely terrible to me. That is exactly what had happened the year before, and it seemed like i was on that boat for years.

sat in my 8th hour room, staring at the clock, waiting for it to finally hit 3:05. After what felt like an eternity I heard the ring of the bell and a wave of students rushed out into the summer air. Summer was finally here and I couldn’t be happier. I had a whole three months to do whatever I wanted. No homework, no tests, no teachers. I hopped on my bus that would drive me home and deliver me to freedom.

Low battery. Exactly the two words I didn’t want to see right now. While on our annual trip to Kansas we are in Brian's truck heading out to the corn fields to shoot our limits of geese and ducks. Waiting for this trip every year is like going through pregnancy. You wait 9 months for it and when it finally comes your whole life changes.

During the summer my girlfriend and I went to Turner Falls for 4th of July. When we arrived at Turner Falls we noticed they weren’t letting people in because it was packed. Luckily my aunt had rented a cabin by the entrance and we got to stay with them. Around 6 in the morning, they started letting more people in so I got the car and I sped to get in line. When I was speeding it was raining awfully bad. That caused Mari to get on to me because I was being “scandalous” and could have caused a wreck.

We are going to Georgia for summer, we are going to go to Amicalola Falls. I live in New York City so i am not used to Georgia. When I got there it was late outside sso we had a fire with my cousin and my uncle an aunt.

Learning happens in many forms. Teachers lecture and pastors preach. However, the lessons that impact me the most are not the ones that are told. They are the lessons taught through experience. Last summer I had the opportunity to travel with my youth group to South Dakota for a week-long mission trip.

Welp! Here we are Oklahoma City, I’d thought we’d never make it! From the looks of it, it looks really cool with all the big buildings and everything. “Yeah its pretty great,” says Joe. “So where should we go?” I said, “I heard that there is a museum, we can go there?” Said Joe, Ok. So we went to the museum and there was some pretty cool stuff there like colored glass and many other really cool things. After that we went to a few tacos stands and then we played in a little park, when we were done we headed to a hotel where we could eat and go to the buffet. They had fried chicken, shrimp, popcorn chicken, and a lot of really good things. When we were done eating we decided to go to the OKC where we could play on the trampoline and roller coasters.

It's been two weeks since my grandkids left and I'm already feeling sick. I have to carry the tradition of passing the medicine down to the man of the family, Martin. I have shoved $100 into my boots for my funeral costs. I check to make sure I have all of my stuff and I set out to the nearest bus station. It was a long, Grueling, Two day bus ride to Iowa. But it was all worth it in the end.

Two years ago I went to summer camp with my boy scout troop 1517 to Camp Alexander , in Colorado Springs,Colorado . I was able to go to the high adventure camp which included backpacking in the Colorado mountains for six days and then hike to the top of pikes peak. I didn’t realize that the air is thinner up in the mountains and I haven't gone on a hike in a while so everyday I was tired and worn out.

Over the past two years I have taken 2 trips with the Utah 4-h. One of the trips was to Denver Colorado for a national competition from winning with my team at state in the consumer bowl. Just recently I went Washington D.C. for a Maker Summit which targets teaching teenagers and the STEM program. On these trips I missed multiple days of school. From doing this I experienced setbacks in my classes and risked failing a few important classes at the end of the term. This became an issue that I needed to solve quick. The end of the term was weeks away and the mounds of homework became mountains. I made a plan of action and broke down the piles of homework and worked hard to manage my time and complete all the assignments. Doing this brought many

One day, my mom got a phone call from my dad saying he was going to be working in Idaho for a couple of months. It was very unexpected. During the end of July, we went over there to visit him for a couple of weeks. We went over there for my birthday. I was turning ten at the time. It took us two days to get there. We drove for ten hours the first day, stayed the night in Ontario and drove six hours the second day. My dad was working in Montpelier, Idaho. We visited four different states while we were over there: Idaho, Wyoming, Montana, and Utah. What I learned from this trip is that an unexpected trip turned out to be fun and create great memories.

Over the summer we took a trip to wellington Kansas and Wichita Kansas. It was fun their was a water park their it had water slides and a big pool i went with my family is was fun. We helped my aunt and my uncial and their children move up their. We have a lot of family up their about 6 or 7 families up their i have a lot or siblings. We went to the zoo up their their was a lot of animals we got to feed we go up their every summer. we did go to Chattanooga to that is an aqaream it had dofhans and crabs and jelly fish and we got to get touch a sting ray this summer was relley

Minnesota is filled with lots of adventure, freedom, and lousy drivers. My friend, Brooke, and I wanted to go on a mini trip before our first year of college started. I wish we knew what we were getting into. The experiences that happened in Minnesota helped me learn to be more cautious and pay attention to details.
