Personal Narrative: My Trip To Savannah

Imagine the sweet smell of pralines slowly escaping in a cloud of aromatic heaven from River Street Sweets, as you walk down River Street with fine mist looming off the water. From there you can see the beautiful, ancient homes that line the streets of Savannah. Magnificent willows silhouette the cobblestone roads with Spanish moss drooping off of their thickly aged limbs. Here lies an opportunity for a highly educational and whimsical, all expenses paid trip to Savannah, Georgia. There are many things to do in Savannah, Georgia including, home tours, horse driven carriages, lighthouse tours (in Tybee Island), and for the more courageous of us, ghost tours. Savannah is an extremely historical city and adventures lie around every corner. In addition, there are also riverboat tours, museums, cemeteries that date back to 1789, and many old churches and cathedrals. Furthermore, the seventh grade would benefit immensely from this trip, as it is truly a learning experience. There is every type of food imaginable in Savannah, from pizza, to southern home cooked, to seafood. The palate of Savannah could fit to the most picky of people. Don’t even get me started on River Street Sweets. No matter if you hate candy, like candy, or are straight up obsessed with it, the scent of this store alone, is enough to make anyone’s mouth water. On the other hand, the students could stay at the Hyatt Regency Savannah, that has the most magnificent view in the city, I guarantee. Moreover, it doesn’t matter which side of the building you are put on, there’s a breathtaking sight from every angle. Not 30 minutes away from the Hyatt, is Tybee Island, where you can get your fill of seafood and climb one of the oldest lighthouses in the country, built in 1732 by orders of James
