The Decision My decision to forgo my scholarships for other schools and instead come to Missouri Western State University was due to the coaches making it feel like a second home to me. The atmosphere of the college, the cost was a huge factor and when I met all of the players, it is what drew me to MWSU the most, they all welcomed me as one of their football brothers and really persuaded me to attend school here. As I walked into the indoor sports complex I instantly thought to myself that compared to the other colleges I visited it was the coaching staff and the facilities which helped me make my decision to come to Missouri Western. I visited many other colleges that had offered me scholarships, but nothing quite came close to Missouri …show more content…
Coach Partridge was the first of them I met, he is the head coach of Missouri Western and as soon as I shook his hand I knew he wasn’t a coach that was accustomed to losing. He greeted me with a big smile on his face and we went into his main office and sat down and talked to me about the tradition of the Griffons. What drew me in the most was that he was more about academics than anything and that is what I always wanted from a coach, I wanted a coach that would push me to work in the classroom before I was able to lay one single toe on the football field. I also met Coach Trotter, he was the coach for the defensive backs. Since the first time we had met he welcomed me with open arms. He introduced me to the rest of the defensive backs that I would be playing with and they brought me in as one of their football brothers and I knew from there on they would always have my back and I would always have theirs. As I finally met the last of the coaching staff, Coach Partridge had me follow him to the indoor sports facility, also known as the gisc. As I walked onto the turf, I just thought to myself “This is definitely where I want to play football at.” As I met all of the coaches and talked to the players that I would be playing with, they all just made it feel like home to me. They made me feel like I actually mattered unlike the other coaches that just wanted me for my playing ability and could care
I was a student attending Grand Canyon University. As you already know my grades do not reflect what I earned in high school, there are reasons why this occurred but to be honest they were things that should not have affected me. However, they did and it was the online courses, the failed attempt to communicate and understand what was needed of me from my student advisor, the study process, and my roommates. I was used to turning things in by hand not through the internet, the school did however sent us instructions by email but it was very difficult to use. There were many steps to turn in an essay or a worksheet and you had to sure that your laptop could open all of the documents. Sometimes my laptop would crash because I had so many documents on it that it couldn't handle it.
To begin, attending school at Clark Atlanta University was a risk for me. It was a risk because I gave up a full tuition scholarship at my previous university, Shippensburg University, in order to attend Clark Atlanta University. I also took a risk by committing to Clark Atlanta University without knowing if I was going to get any scholarships. I believed I would get almost a full scholarship being as though my GPA was a 3.86, but unfortunately I was barely granted
A school that met every single one of my expectations. The only probably was the price tag. Since I was a child, I have been aware of financial issues. My father spent years working his was up the ladder in his job for the state agriculture program, when I was in second grade my mother went back to school to obtain her nursing degree. I was accustomed to them working multiple jobs at once to support my sister and I, which they always managed to do. Knowing all of this seeing the price of attending Boston University truly affected me. I know how much my parents have done for me and to have to ask them for such a huge sum of money seemed unfair. This scholarship would allow me to get closer to making my dream a reality. I hope to attend Boston University and get a degree in communications, a speciality of the school, get my masters degree with a focus on public relations, and then begin working in the field as a public relations
After much thought and consideration on continuing my academic career after high school, I decided to look into Kansas State University. As I grew older and realized that college took on a greater meaning, my uncle and grandparents (both alumni of Kansas State University) talked to me about, not only the importance of college, but how great this university is. I immediately scheduled a day back in fall of 2016 to visit the campus with my family. After visiting the college, I knew that this was the place for me. I knew I could see myself here.
Sonoma State University was first introduced to me a year ago when I went on a tour of SSU with my school. Twenty of us went on a trip to Northern California to see schools such as University of San Francisco, San Francisco State, Holy Names University, UC Berkeley, and of course, Sonoma State University. I fell in love with SSU the minute I stepped on campus, the campus is so full of trees, unlike the desert-style campuses of many Southern California schools near where I live, and amazing buildings that inspire me by just being around them. When I took a tour of SSU, my tour guide was a part of the Hutchins Program, and she was so passionate when she told my group about it. I had never heard of a program that allowed students to get their degree and teaching credential in 4 years, so after that tour I began to research and tour schools with these kinds of programs, and yet none of them have impacted me quite like the Hutchins Program.
Finding a interesting topic to write about, is challenge on Louisiana College’s campus, but with a little patience and observation, unique stories are scattered amongst the staff and student body. It didn’t take me long to wander into the student center to find a story or interview that would spark my interest. Walking down the hall I approached one of the most important offices on campus. No, it’s not the president’s office, but the Nurse’s office which I’ve seen many times. I had a feeling that this place would be full of stories and experiences that would give me the interview that I needed to boost my grade. I wanted to do an interview about something that I care about and is important to shed light on. I thought about how I often forget one of the most important things in my life, which is health and the people who work to keep us healthy.
Since I was a little boy I loved the sport football. When I first got to the high school, I heard Coach Johnson was a strict coach that would threaten to kick you off the team for the slightest thing. Only caring for the players he thought was good enough. From the people I asked all I heard was negative comments about the coach. The oncoming season was coming and I was soon to find out. When I was younger I was childish I took everything as a joke, laughing and playing and took nothing serious. I changed my childish ways to become a mature man that I am today. Coach Johnson saved my life because who knows what I been doing if I hadn’t.
1. Transitions helped me familiarize myself with the campus. The students who were involved were very helpful and answered any questions I had. The tour of the campus helped me feel more comfortable. Transitions was a great way to meet many other freshmen and faculty. The students made me aware of all the great services available at Minot State University.
We were in the car for 3hr,and at the 2hr we were driving we stopped at mcdonalds, and then we got back in the car and bought a horse.cant wait to go back next year.
Later that night, Coach Hentges approached me and congratulated me on my first varsity tackle. He praised my hustle, as I ran roughly one hundred and fifty yards on the play. The play helped solidify that I was able to contribute. I finished out my sophomore year starting on varsity special teams. This hard work and phenomenal play led to me starting as a junior and being named a Team Captain as a senior. Football has always been my number one passion, and for me, this was all a very big deal .
Through the college applications process, I have found so many great aspects of the school that I never knew growing up. For example, the Wisconsin idea, which has existed for more than a century, is to give back to the community. I wish to dedicate my life to helping the world, so discovering Wisconsin shares the goal of community service was very
In tenth grade I took not only my first tour of Christopher Newport University but also my first college tour. Before even beginning the tour I absolutly knew this was the school for me. After leaving the tour I did anything and everything I could to get accepted there. I visited CNU mulitiple times between junior and senior year by attending tours and opens houses. Everytime I visited I was only impressed more with the school and community of CNU. During senior year I was able to set up an interview and a sleepover with a student amasador, being able to sleepover at a school where you know no one, yet you feel so welcomed is exactly what I wanted out of a school. I applied for early decision senior year but my dreams could not be fufilled.
Do you like football? Because this is my story about how I joined a football team! First, I asked my dad if I could join the school football team. My dad said “yeah I haven't really seen you on the football field so often, last time I did you played for the Heritage Hawks.” I was pretty nervous if they said no. So as I came up to meet the coaches, we talked and they said that they need a Right Tackle, so I was in! The coaches was was really nice, they said “after school tomorrow, show up at practice.”
On the 17th of July Friday we went to the Texas Christian University located in Fort Worth, Texas for our field trip. When we arrived at the TCU I was overwhelmed by the size, and beauty of its massive structure. Sassan the coordinator of athlete facility who is our guide for the TCU facility field trip take us to the first facility. Amon G. Carter stadium home of the TCU Horned Frogs football team. Many upgrades were made such as press box, TV broadcast booth, small video, score board, and seats to develop and increase the capacity number with the renovation in 2012 cost 164 million. Looking around the facility I learned that they made great effort for stadium renovation and all these implementation (process) was to enhance the game day atmosphere. The first facility is much related to the chapter 4 facility planning, because they went through various renovation for future uses of facility and to make attract more fan to support their beloved
Without background research and investigation, George Washington University can confound anyone. The first time I visited GW I wasn’t aware of the campus setup or just how many opportunities were available due to its amazing location. When I stepped foot outside of the bus I was confused because GW was anything but traditional. With buildings placed all over the heart of D.C., GW stood out to me. I could see a variety of culture, community, and commitment between the tour guide and students I met. My biggest goal is to create an everlasting imprint in the world of programming. Through the use of GWork I want to attain and manage my employment opportunities, and within open ended research facilities I can achieve my goal. I plan on researching
