17Dec23 My Kids Are Here!!! The whole reason for my epic cross-country trek was making Christmas in Arizona happen for my kids and today begins the culmination of this extravaganza. I picked out an RV facility nearest the airport and least expensive. Nearest the airport because the kids flight would be coming in very late and least expensive because we were only going to be there 10 or 12 hours and wouldn’t need any facilities. Mom and I drove to Phoenix during the day and, I once again got a chance to practice my backing up skills. The RV Park we found was less than stellar, but we only need the overnight. I maneuvered into the spot and we set up the RV. We opened both the fold up beds on the ends knowing we need the space for everyone to
Throughout this course, there has been multiple themes of survival in the stories. Before they were forced to survive other than their natural way, was when the white settlers came to towards the west. They lived peacefully in these lands for thousands of years until the settlers came. As these white settlers from afar became aware of the Native people, they brought on them unyielding beliefs that would soon cause major conflicts between the two groups. It was crystal clear that the settlers and the Natives could not live amongst each other with peace, because of their different views towards, religion, land, and respect. Destruction of the Natives way of living would engulf them in a survival situation they had never previously experienced or heard of.
The characters in the Scarlet Letter are judged greatly through how and who they are able and unable to forgive. Such as the main female lead, Hester Prynne, and her struggle for the town to forgive her, finding the will to forgive herself and having God forgive her. Although, this was hard because every day she had to live with the scarlet letter upon her chest as a reminder of her sin. Another character that had one of the roughest times in the novel was Arthur Dimmesdale. This man kept a sin hidden for most of the novel and let it eat him away. The person that Dimmesdale needed to forgivehim the most was Pearl. He spent most of the novel trying to earn her beloved trust. Pearl would ask him favors to go into town with her but it
In our Canadian society, we without a doubt expect our police to uphold, respect and protect our Charter of Rights and Freedoms. The title of peace officer, comes with power, duty, and rights. The state gives peace officers the power needed to execute their duty in a lawful manner. The duties of an officer are imposed by the state, and the officer has to execute them in a professional standard, meaning he or she has to respect and value the rights of the citizens. In order for police officers to uphold society’s rights, the police need to focus on proper procedures in order to achieve due process.
My virtual family consists my partner and a daughter, Nameste Denell (Manis, 2014). The transition from being a couple to being a triad was a bumpy one (Manis, 2014). My partner and I have had some obstacles most of which had to do with money (Manis, 2014). We even contemplated divorce shortly after Nameste Denell was born (Manis, 2014). My partner worked full-time outside the home and I was a stay-at-home mom (Manis, 2014). Nameste Denell was three when Jasmine Leann came along (Manis, 2014). She looked forward to helping and playing with her baby sister (Manis, 2014). Soon after Jasmine Leann was born my partner and I saved enough money to move from our neighborhood, which was becoming overrun by crime (Manis, 2014). We bought
Maybe I was too little, or maybe I was too short, but either way I did not make the jump. In the second grade I was your average eight year old, who always wore her hair in ponytails, and enjoyed playing tag at recess. One day I saw the fifth graders on the monkey bars at recess doing something I had never seen before, they were jumping to the fourth bar. I waited untill Kids Inc. that day to try the jump, but it was no use I was acting like a scared baby.
When I was at school the other day, my band instructor told me, “You are one of the hardest workers I have ever seen, why do you work so tirelessly if you know that you might fail? I was quite surprised because she has been teaching for 33 years. I responded with your book, Almost Home.
My Virtual Child experience: I was in labor for 8 hours and my son was going into distress. I had an emergency C-section but after 10 minutes I delivered a healthy boy. His Apgar score was great and I was able to bond with him. I named him Phil because I enjoy the Rugrats cartoon. He does not look nothing like me or dad, he is light brown and bald.
I gave birth to a baby girl named Stella (Manis, 2008). My boyfriend picked her name when I started the simulation, and I thought it was a good choice. Stella had a normal birth, which took about 10 hours. I gave birth naturally with my partner by my side. Stella and I bonded hormonally after about a week, though I chose not to breastfeed her. During her first weeks, Stella mostly slept. When she was awake, I took time to sing to her and rock her, as well as talking and playing her music. She had some trouble with feeding at the start, but after a while she began to enjoy mealtimes. Because my partner worked during the week, we would use disposable diapers during that time and cloth diapers on weekends. The parenting
This semester I was enrolled in Education 2120 as well as 2130 which required a total of forty field hours at the placement site Oasis. I was hesitant going into the program as I was not quite sure what to expect. I was capable of acquiring the vast majority of my hours at Oasis; however, due to my work schedule and the hours of operation there I had to acquire the remaining few in an elementary school. I am thankful for my time spent this semester as it opened my eyes to what life in the classroom may be like and it also allowed me to interact with a culture I did not know much about. Regardless of the cultures present in my future classroom I feel equipped to be able to effectively make a difference in the lives of children I
Service is important to Confirmation because it serves others and also God. The Holy Spirit inspires and helps us serve others. Service is a way to give back. It is a way to be grateful for what we have and help those who have less than us. Through service we are doing God’s work by helping others. For seventh and eighth grade year, I did many different acts of service including; works of mercy, church service, community service, and liturgical experience.
This past year I had to wake up around 5 o’clock so that I could get ready in time to leave early. The first thing I did was take a shower, then I finished packing my bags, and finally I got ready to leave. My grandma came and picked me up around 5:45 and we headed to her house. Once, we got to her house my grandpa was in the motor home and ready to go. We loaded the rest of the bags into the motor home and then we were on our way. After a long 5 hour drive (that I slept during most of) we made it to our destination.
For take our kids to work day I got to spend the day with Laura’s mom, Elaine. Elaine is a pediatrician at the Children’s Hospital, she works in the ICU. The day started with watching medical and nursing students do stimulations. We were supposed to watch two, one with a baby and one with a child, but right at the end of the second one I fainted. I don’t really know why, I didn’t see anything that bothered me, I was well hydrated and I had a big breakfast that morning. Luckily I was spending take our kids to work day at the hospital, so when I woke up I was surrounded by nurses, doctors, medical and nursing student. I guess it was good practice for the medical students. After that Laura and I got to ask Elaine and a nurse our interview questions.
When we got there we went straight to my friends grandparents house so that we could unload all of our stuff. And we didn't go that day either because we didn't want to pay for it and then not even be there for a while. So we were going to
I never knew that I would be so quickly enraged with eye rolling, snarky muttering or someone who talks back. I’m not even in the delusional state that my daughter, who’s only just turned into double digits is at her peak. I read an article recently that many parents are calling the tween years harder than the baby years – and although I’ve got selective memory of the baby years, I’m keenly aware that it was tough.
I babysit four kids in a house deep in the woods. I’ve been doing this for about 5 years now and I love it. It is so quiet out there and we never have any problems. The kids bedtime is 9 o’clock, and tonight was different because their parents weren’t coming home until the morning. It’s about 9:30, the kids are finally sleep and I’m in the guest bathroom getting ready for bed. I just put the alarm to make myself just feel safer. I remember this night so clearly. I was washing my face then hear like someone hit the window and before I could even even think of it what it was, I hear the whole window from downstairs shatter. Then the alarm went off I knew for sure the kids would wake up so I run down the hall to the youngest kid’s, Jose, room.
