This journey is designed to help Southeastern University develop a closer bond with me. All though I have face many situations with abandonment issues, bullying and suicide. These situations do not stop me from serving the Lord. You will enter the beginning of my relationship with God, growth with God, and why I am an academic and spiritual fit for Southeastern University.
I grew up in the town of Arcadia, FL, my whole life. But I lead a fairly moral life, and no one questioned my goodness. In fact, I built my life in doing the right thing, on begin a moral person. I believed in God, I said grace before every meal, and I prayed every night. As a child, I face many situations. I saw my father abuse my mother on a daily basis, because he was
East Carolina University is and has always been a dream school for many students including myself. I have grown up hearing about the University and it is nothing short of spectacular. Many family members of mine have attended East Carolina, and I have always pictured myself at this school. It would be an honor to be a pirate. Throughout high school I have struggled in Science and Math. I know I could have done better in high school but in life you can always do something better, im eager to push myself more and work harder than ever to succeed as an adult, if given the chance There are many times when I should I have put school in front of my extra curricular activities such as dancing, art, work, tennis, and swimming. However, all of those
My Northern State University (NSU) American Indian academic advisor, Lara Nelson has inspired me and encouraged me for the two years of my collegiate career to be extremely involved and active in leadership roles. She is the leader of the Native American Student Association at NSU as well, and has encouraged me to be an active participant in the association and consequently, I was elected as the treasurer of the association in September 2016 and I also serve as student advisor on the NSU American Indian Advisory Committee which serves under the direction of the university’s Provost. In these positions, it is necessary for me to communicate and organize so that we can fulfill the organizations goals. We have been instrumental in helping shape
When I think about what I could contribute to Florida A&M University based on the knowledge that I do have with your institution is that i’m a extremely committed student who has beliefs that you can do anything that you set your mind to. There may be some times when I may feel discouraged but why must if I feel like that if things aren’t easily handed to you. You must chase your dreams, and when you do that things will slowly fall into place (not exactly how you planned for it to be at times). I learned that through the many obstacles I had to experience to make me the well informed women I am today. The best activity, interest, experience, and achievement in my life was being a Big member of “Big brother, big sister”. Becoming a mentor for
In the fall of 2005, I took my first steps onto the campus of Appalachian State University with my sister who was entering as a freshman. One of my most vivid memories from my childhood is walking hand in hand with my then eighteen year old, wide eyed, and prospective sister into the Watauga dorms. Afterwards, as we left down King Street, I distinctly remember gazing back towards the magnificent North Carolina mountains and yearning to stay. Even at the age of five, I knew that one day I would follow in her footsteps and become an Appalachian Mountaineer.
As I sat on the couch getting ready for the first day back at school, I heard the phone in the kitchen ring. I stood up to go answer it and I heard loud footsteps coming down the stairs. My mother was running down the stairs to answer it just in case it was one of her work calls. I noticed that her voice started to crack as if she was going to cry and the smile that she once had on her face had disappeared. The person on the other end of the phone was my Uncle Dylan from California calling to let us know that Aunt Liz had died in a car wreck. We were so devastated but little did we know she left me $12k. A couple days later I received a letter in the mail saying that I had to use it to help pay for my tuition. I am looking to attend the nursing program at Lindenwood, Missouri State, or St. Louis University.
Finding a interesting topic to write about, is challenge on Louisiana College’s campus, but with a little patience and observation, unique stories are scattered amongst the staff and student body. It didn’t take me long to wander into the student center to find a story or interview that would spark my interest. Walking down the hall I approached one of the most important offices on campus. No, it’s not the president’s office, but the Nurse’s office which I’ve seen many times. I had a feeling that this place would be full of stories and experiences that would give me the interview that I needed to boost my grade. I wanted to do an interview about something that I care about and is important to shed light on. I thought about how I often forget one of the most important things in my life, which is health and the people who work to keep us healthy.
Everyone in my family has attended college and has done something with their lives and I plan on continuing the cycle. In the fall of 2017 I will be attending Sam Houston State University. My major will be kinesiology because sports has always been a part of my life and I couldn’t imagine myself going through life without doing something related to sports.
I am Efrashia Nicole Crespin and I was raised here in Las Cruces, New Mexico. I had recently moved to Hobbs, New Mexico and came back to finish my high school career and start at New Mexico State University the following semester. I am majoring in the school of Hotel, Restaurant, and Tourism Management as for short we call it HRTM. I have received numerous scholarships from the university in pursing in bachelors here at New Mexico State. I am grateful for the opportunities the school as offered to me coming from a very low income family.
Where do I even begin? Well, first off…. THANK YOU! You have no idea the impact you have made on not only my life, but so many others. Speaking on behalf of my peers, you truly are a one-of-a-kind and remarkable professor. In my time at Eastern Kentucky University as an undergrad in the History Department, I had my fair share of good, bad and okay professors. You are in none of those categories because you created one for yourself.
My decision to forgo my scholarships for other schools and instead come to Missouri Western State University was due to the coaches making it feel like a second home to me. The atmosphere of the college, the cost was a huge factor and when I met all of the players, it is what drew me to MWSU the most, they all welcomed me as one of their football brothers and really persuaded me to attend school here. As I walked into the indoor sports complex I instantly thought to myself that compared to the other colleges I visited it was the coaching staff and the facilities which helped me make my decision to come to Missouri Western.
The most challenging part of my first semester at Long Beach State was managing the work load and getting accustomed to the college life. My classes were difficult; I would spend a tremendous amount for time working on homework that I would not have much time to go to club meetings or hang out with my friends. I addressed the problem by going to office hours and getting extra help. In addition, I asked people in my dorm building if they could tutor me. I eventually got accustomed to the work load and balancing school and my social
I choose Florida Atlantic University because I felt in love with the sprit of the school. In my opinion FAU has all the requisites to provide me with an extraordinary education. In other words, the school is unknown for one of the best public University in Florida. For me is an honor to be able to represent the university and to able to enrich my academic journey at Florida Atlantic University. Most importantly the locations of the school was very important to me because I want a calm yet diverse area, which I can feel safe and comfortable. Once I step into FAU I knew it was the perfect school and everyone there were so attentive. The smaller classes more of a one-on-one with professors it very important for my educational learning. As a communication
What can I say about this journey is that I want to firstly state, from the bottom of my heart, a gratitude in return for good vibes, compliments and so on which I have realized and owe an apologies to individuals who have thought that I would go to Southern Methodist University, a private school, before I express to this field of graphic design I will go in.
I could make this essay a sob story but i am not going to do that i am going to give you no other option but to accept me into your school. My mom always told me to do what is right, and by attending this school i feel it would be the right choice for me to further my education beyond high school at Palm Beach State College. I am full of energy and eager to learn about my new career path towards my future life, and this could all be the beginning of it all right here at your school. I am willing to keep an open mind about anything the admissions office has to say and anything they are willing to offer. Once I get accepted in this college my life will start to unfold right before eyes.
As a senior in high school, my counselors have always told me that if I had an opportunity to achieve greater things I would take it. By doing so, being admitted at Texas A&M University will expand my horizons and allow me to come in contact with challenging obstacles that can benefit my knowledge as well as my ability to complete tasks at hand. The journey I would experience as an Aggie would be an unforgettable one. I have begun a new chapter in my life to carry my own responsibilities and that was by deciding my major and beginning my classes that were needed to be complete. The role of being a college student is to commit. Commit to your time management, commit to your studies, and commit to give pride in your school. These three roles
