Senior year of college, Theresa, myself, Ryan and Michelle were the returning four on the cheer squad. We were at the football field getting ready to start practice when the players came out of the locker room to start there practice. I was scanning all the familiar faces then there he was. Just as good-looking as he was last year, and he was staring right back at me. I smiled at Ronnie until one of his teammates slapped him on the shoulder and turned his attention back to the drills they were getting ready to start. His tanned broad shoulders and muscles cut so perfect my fingers tingled at the thought of caressing every inch of him. “He’s single you know?” Theresa said. “Huh? No way!” I said a little louder than I probably should …show more content…
We all three spun around to see who was yelling for me, there stood Ronnie in only his practice gear, his helmet in one hand and his shirt hanging over his shoulder. I squinted as he jogged towards us. “Hey,” he smiled down at me then said hello to the other two, “Can I talk to you?” he asked me. “Sure,” I turned to Ryan and Theresa hugged them then turned back to Ronnie, “What’s up?” I asked with a smile. He ran a hand through his sweaty hair, “I-well, I wanted to ask you if you’d like to go out some time? I wasn’t sure if you were single or not?” He sounded nervous. “I’m single, I guess we can go out for dinner or something?” I said. “Great, how about I pick you up at seven tonight or is that too soon?” He asked and liked his lips. “That’ll work, I’m in the dorm house S number fifteen, let’s just do casual if that’s okay?” He smiled and winked at me, “See you then.” One of his teammates called his name, with a small wave he walked backwards then turned and jogged out of the tunnel. Theresa and Ryan were both waiting at her car, “So?” Theresa asked with a big …show more content…
On the drive to the dorm Theresa and I talked about what I would wear, “Definitely that cute denim skirt and your white tank top and your wedge sandals.” “I think that’ll be perfect but we need to hurry it’s already five thirty, I still have to shave.” “God I can’t believe you are going on a date with him, you are going to be the envy of all the other women on campus. Maybe you can find out why him and his girlfriend broke up.” “Right, like that’s a first date topic jeez. Shouldn’t it be about just the essentials like where he’s from, what he’s majoring in, how many siblings, etcetera etcetera ?” “That too! I’m just curious because last I had heard he was going to propose to her, maybe that’s why they aren’t together. Maybe he was moving too fast for her liking.” I shook my head and laughed, “Who knows maybe this will be the only date.” I said. Theresa snorted, “I highly doubt that but I’m staying up until you get home so I can get full
"No, not a real date. A sleep date. We can just sleep, right here. That counts as a date cause we're doing it together."
“So, what? Do you want to date him or something? Doesn’t that go against university policy?”
“Could I have the pleasure of taking you on a date? I promise I would treat you real nice.”
“Tomorrow’s fine, except I have to do something right after school.” Becca paused to think for a second. “Maybe we could just go today, after I practice. Would 5:00 work for you?”
“Would you meet me again here tomorrow, about noon or so. I’ll be arriving with a friend.”
“Sounds great. And you can call me, Brendan,” said Brendan pulling his shorts back on.
"We'll just say we made up and we were at his house and we became friends with
“Okay we’re going to go to Taco Bell before the fireworks. Is that okay,” asked Sarah.
"Well, my friend did mention him... He said that they met last night when he went to the company. They bumped into each other at the parking lots... I 'm telling you pretty, he really....really likes him and knowing him for years, he 's going to break up his engagement."
“Okay,” she rubbed her temples, “He’s your Professor,” I nodded my head, “He’s obviously insecure and doesn’t trust you already and you’re
“Ok well I’m 17 and I can drive and I have two sibling one girl and as you know a boy. I’m very good with the ladies. And very smart. And my family is well a little all over the place. What about you?” You freeze just as you hear him say your family. “What oh well, um I’m smart and very hard to get to know, and I um That’s it.”
“Can you please tell her you can’t come,” I plead, “ I need to have a date, it would be awful for my image if I show up without a date”
"You made it?" Ryan 's mom leapt up. "Oh Ryan, sweetie, that 's amazing!" She pulled Ryan into a hug. "I 'm so proud of you, honey!"
He blushed. "It 's easy to imagine someone asking you out but I wasn 't expecting it. Just because I like him, doesn 't mean that I want to date him. It would be too complicated."
As soon as we finished stretching to warm up, we headed to the bleachers, waiting for halftime. The sun was still high in the sky. The chattering and commotion filled my ears as I watched a friend help a girl apply her lipstick, the fire-truck red illuminating the soft lips of the girls around me. The smell of hairspray permeated the air as I stiffly fasted my felt flower hair clip into my bun, resting on my upper neck. My friends and I grinned at each other, watching the football team play while conversing lightly; we told stories, humorously pointed out our sweaty feet in our dance shoes that would inevitably be ruined by the turf, and jokingly making sexual innuendos to each other. We looked almost identical, with the same makeup, costumes, and even shoes. It was a warm night, and the companionship of the group I considered family only made it warmer. We were all undeniably happy,
