Personal Narrative: My Dra

My legacy began when my family taught me to read. My mom and grandma took turns teaching me different letters and sounds out of an early reader. By the time I reached kindergarten, I read well enough to strengthen my skills on my own. My favorite author from kindergarten was Eric Carle. I brought home Brown Bear Brown Bear so many times that my mother told me I was not allowed to read it again.

I unzipped my coat as I stepped into the warm basement. I crinkle my nose as the bitter smell of alcohol hits it. I feel like I should be used to it by now, I go to concerts at least once a month. We walk over to the small table overflowing with merchandise. It’s a tradition to by the opening bands CD.

Starting high school can be a little scary, especially when you have no guidance from siblings, like me, being the first one from my family to have an education. But that did not stop me from succeeding, I?ve always been confident and determined. I?m an enthusiastic when it comes to trying new things. Who would have thought I was going to be a good athlete plus a book geek, when in my past years I was just a regular kid. I was pretty excited about joining a club that had a connection with high school, that way I didn?t have to start from zero, I always want to be a step ahead. Fortunately, in summer, a high school coach was recruiting freshmen for running either cross country or track, they both involve running, so I considered it like the same sport with different timing. Throughout my early childhood, I knew I wanted to change lives for the better. I have always contemplated on being a doctor since the age of three and decided to be an actress/singer at age six. Since then I have worked hard to maintain good grades and up until now I have worked relentlessly to maintain good grades, this all payed off when I was accepted into a university that would give me the opportunity to follow my dreams. To be able to accomplish my dreams, I have studied, auditioned,and performed to get prepared and be in the place i’m in today. If it wasn't for my determination,persistent,realization,and hard work, I wouldn't be where I am today. Through countless rehearsals, I was able to accomplish my dream of learning how to sing,

Have you had any than interesting happen in your life? I know I have and this is some of them.

Many people have left legacies from when they were alive. Some are good, and some are bad. Those people may not agree with what they have left behind, and some may be perfectly okay with theirs. For me, I would like to leave behind a legacy that shows my family that I was a good person. I would want them to know that I had good intentions for my life and that I wanted to do good for myself and others. In this essay, I will explain what I would like my legacy to be like.

Growing up with a father in the military, you move around a lot more than you would like to. I was born just east of St. Louis in a city called Shiloh in Illinois. When I was two years old my dad got the assignment to move to Hawaii. We spent seven great years in Hawaii, we had one of the greatest churches I have ever been to name New Hope. New Hope was a lot like Olivet's atmosphere, the people were always friendly and there always something to keep someone busy. I used to dance at church, I did hip-hop and interpretive dance, but you could never tell that from the way I look now.

When I think of the word legacy I think of how I will be remember and what I will leave behind for generations to come. I think of people like Martin Luther King Jr and Gandhi, whose impact changes the lives of many and the world as it was known during that time. I don’t think that my impact will be received on such a big scale like Martin Luther King Jr., Gandhi, and many other but hopefully I will be able to touch the people who were close to me during my lifetime.

The lives I would touch for my legacy would be my family and friends because those are the people that care about me and what I do. That they would help me out with anything I need. My major accomplishment would be a pro soccer player and go to Rutgers College. The other accomplishment in my life would be to get very good grades in school to get a good education.

My real age test placed me at 38.4 years old, just .9 under my actual age of 39. Apparently, I am doing what is necessary to maintain my age. The survey pointed out a number of things I am doing well, most notably are, my cholesterol level, which is quite low, my solid sleep schedule, which enables me to get 7 hours or more a night, having a healthy amount of sex, a solid social life with friends and family, life perspectives that reduce stress, and experiencing few financial difficulties all help me stay younger. Additionally, eating nuts, having breakfast regularly, minimizing red meat, and maximizing frequency of eating fish all contribute to reducing my “RealAge”. However, there are a number of things I can do to decrease my RealAge.

My "aha" moment was when I got feedback from my peers. It was really eye opening to see how my classmates viewed me as a person.

The majority of my childhood consists of me at the restaurant, helping my parents. There, I would either be folding the eating utensils, bring bills to the customer's table, placing place-mats on the table, or working at a cash register. My job has always been the small tedious tasks. Then at age seven, everything changed; I seated my first customer. To me, seating a customer was a milestone marker because I did something out of my comfort zone. I was always scared of having a conversation with the customers because they looked intimidating. The most interaction I have had with customers was handing back their change. I have never done it and I never planned that it would happen. However, one day, the restaurant was in chaos.
