In this era when collaboration is vital to succeed as a scientist, I have active collaborations with Emory University School of Medicine and Texas Tech Paul Foster School of Medicine. I actively participate in departmental and college-wide services, as well as professional organizations and scholarly journals. I sought as an advisor and consultant on scientific and technological programs and problems, which extend well beyond my area of specialty. These experiences demonstrate that I have the skill in providing scientific advice, collaboration, and consultation.
As a paraprofessional one of the biggest problems that is face is the collaboration between the team of the student you work with. I work on a team of twenty-one people who I must communicate with most of them daily or weekly basis. The main issue I face is working with the Special Education teacher and regular classroom teacher in curriculum. The reason being is that I don’t get things modified for my student occurring to the IEP and preview the materials ahead of time. Just being given the material to work with the day of is hard because if I must modify I don’t get the planning time to do so. Then I run into the student having behaviors cause the material is too hard. Looking at the problem-solving worksheet from De Boer I really like the
Today I wrote this letter to introduce myself to you for the purpose of improving our collaboration during this semester. As a first son and a fifth child in the family, I’ve received many loves from my parents and my four older sisters. My family migrated from Vietnam to the United States five years ago and carried our new hopes and dreams to this place. I was having a tough time in maintaining my native language and learning English at the same time. I don’t have any interest in reading books because I‘ve never really enjoy any book that I’ve read in the past, or just because I haven’t read as much book as i thought I did. My goal for this year is to past every classes with an A. The reason is I don’t want to lose my financial aid, and
My legacy began when my family taught me to read. My mom and grandma took turns teaching me different letters and sounds out of an early reader. By the time I reached kindergarten, I read well enough to strengthen my skills on my own. My favorite author from kindergarten was Eric Carle. I brought home Brown Bear Brown Bear so many times that my mother told me I was not allowed to read it again.
My first example of one of my peices of work is my Garage Sale flyer. I choes this as one of my examples because it demonstates my understandings of our unit all about creating flyers, business cards etc… The strongest aspects of this peice of work is the way I have all the information needed in an organized way. It does not look super cluttered. I think i could always work on something with any peice of work i do. With this peice i think i could work on my spelling and puncuation. Some of the skills i use to create this peice were; Change the backround, Bordes and accents, Text and
My current job is an ABA therapist for the school district. Last week, one of the children on my case load was having a lot of behavior issues in the classroom. In order to help shape his behaviors, a collaboration took place. The classroom teacher, the lead therapist, the autism specialist, another line therapist and myself brainstormed possible strategies to put in place. We all had to observe the behaviors and try to determine the antecedent. From there, we sat down as a team to decide what behaviors we wanted to target first and what strategies we would use. We have all begun to put the strategies into place and we are seeing significant improvement in some of the behaviors. We have all taken turns in dealing
I remember a time when I had to collaborate with a group of co-workers. It was a group of six, as a group we needed to come up with “Helping Our Mortgage Customers Save Their Home”. We as a group had to develop different ways to assist customers in saving their home, even if that meant discussing ways to let the home go for sale. We as a team developed an identical objective by learning from each other, sharing ideas, and knowledge. However, we shared ideas on the steps to modify your home, and the various options that are available to each homeowner. We collaborated on government plans that were also available. In order for the collaboration to work, we as a team had to work together to schedule meeting
I have had the pleasure of working with children from foreign countries in a first grade classroom. In order to communicate with this group of learners, who mainly speak Urdu and Arabic, I am in constant collaboration with my cooperating teacher in order to make sure information is swift, easily understood, and created to reach the masses that I teach. Part of the reason my students have been able to succeed as well as they have without me being a native speaker of one of their languages was due to the great collaboration me and my cooperating teacher provided. We sat down multiples times a week to evaluate the current week’s work and success, plan next week’s work, and collaborate to come up with specific, meaningful work and activities
Last summer I wanted to work and earn a little cash and distract myself and not be home all summer. I didn't know where to apply so I applied everywhere I was even open to working in the fields my parents told me that the fields were the last place they ever wanted me to work. My mom and step dad Raul always told me that field work wasn't easy and that it was not for me but I didn't listen.
My field experience was in Ms. Felkins third grade classroom at Washington Elementary School. The class there are nineteen students total, nine boys and ten girls. There are two different ethnic groups in the class, four African American students and fifteen white students. Additionally, there are three students who go to a resource room throughout the day for academic instruction. One of the students goes to the resource room for thirty-minute increments throughout the day. Three students go to a small reading group each day to work on reading skills.
Hullo folks it’s Joe here. I know what you’re thinking , Joe would not be my first choice for a sarcastic british bloke in a pink suit either , but it wasn’t my choice to make ,it was Andy Warhol’s. Anyway let’s get on to the story. It’s about my everyday (or every night) life. You’ll get to meet some of my friends ,enemies ,and frenemies alike.
Ever since a child I was interested in all things creative. When I was 12 years old I enrolled myself in the Ural Film Studios academy and in 2 years, I graduated. I learned the collaborative process of film making. The class I was in made a narrative film. I learned parts of the whole process. Creativity runs in my family. My great Grandfather was a poet, and my grandfather was, like me, into different media like filmmaking and photography. I have cousins that run a gallery. My grandfather gave me my first camera which opened whole new world for me. When I got my first computer I installed a trial version of Photoshop and realized I could create designs with my pictures I took (for instance custom Facebook portraits). A friend and I came up with our first business of selling custom made
Thank you for reading my work - I'm glad you enjoy it and might find it useful.
From the beginning of the day, I was assigned the job of organising and recording the results of games into a computer program off of scorecards collected by my fellow officials. There were two other adult officials that supported me throughout the day but one particularly that introduced me to the jobs, monitored my performance and helped finalise recordings of results onto the leader board. After clearly and understandably explaining everything I had to do, the male official and her prioritised on collecting scorecards from games across the oval whilst I received them, organised them and put the results into the computer. This was an efficient way of approaching our duties, as since was just getting started and still learning,
“Something has to be done about our students in the afternoon. They are running around and leaving class before their buses are called. Oh and let me not get on them knocking on the office windows and blocking the walkway.” These are just a few of the comments that were said during our weekly administrative meeting. However, what came afterwards I never expected to happen. Ms. Aman turned to me and said “Courtney this is going to be your task.” I need for you to design and implement a different afternoon dismissal procedure. I had no idea what I was going to do, however I was ready to undergo on the challenge.
