Personal Narrative: I Believe In The Bible

I became a Christian in 1982 while in high school. I had never attended church prior to Easter 1982. I found something interesting in the whole of the service and decided to read a Bible. The Bible made some sense to me. I had a few questions about some of the stuff that had happened and was given Evidence that Demands a Verdict by Josh McDowell. Well that answered most of my questions. I was also given Mere Christianity which answered more questions. I felt convicted by the Holy Spirit and asked G-d to come into my life and forgive me of my sins.

Nirvana, idyll, paradise, heaven on earth, and Utopia what do all these words have in common? They are an idea, a figment of our imagination, something we can only aspire to achieve. Even the Greeks knew it; the Greek translation for Utopia is “not place” or “no place” as in a place that does not exist. So how could I stand here today and tell you that a utopia could exist on earth that would be naive of me. What I will say is originally, I was naive I did believe in paradise or nirvana or utopia whatever you may call it. I thought of course there could be a utopia, for every person it is different so how could someone tell me otherwise. For me all I needed was my family, my closest friends and of course all my dogs; it did not matter where

When I was 12 years old, and my grade wasn’t promising. My parents all blame me, but never encourage me to bring it back up, so for a year my grade never changed. During that year my mom treat me like I wasn't her son. Me and my mom fight almost every day. The next year, everything was the same. My grade was still on the ground, until the next semester my friend encourage me and helped me to bring my grades up. They tried to help me and try to convince me to compete with them so I can bring my grades up faster. When I was 7 years old, there was a bully back in China who was in 6 grade. He beat up first, second, and third graders. I told my parents so they can do something about it, but they thought I was talking about a third grader, so they say to deal with the problem myself. For a year he was still bullying people, so my friend courage me to go with them so that we can tell the teacher. The teacher didn't do anything about it, some and my friend brought bats and beat him up. Some of my friend got hurt pretty bad, but we got him into the hospital, and after that he stopped bullying people.

If someone were to describe me based on the outside information that they are able to see they would probably say that I am a Caucasian female. They would also describe my religious beliefs as being a Christian. Also they would describe my sexual orientation as being heterosexual. I would hope that people would describe me in a positive way, however if people learn those things about me they might start judging me either positively or negatively.

Dealing with different beliefs through my childhood friend from elementary was difficult concept to handle. At first, we were two peas in a pod, and practically consider each other as twins because we both love the same things. However as we grew older, we both began having our own opinion and this soon turned into heated arguments.

I was introduce to Jesus Christ and his teaches as a young child and my relationship with him has grown stronger as I have gotten older. As a young women, I have tried to maintain a relationship with God through daily prayer and attend church when possible. Although, I do not attend church every week I still feel as though I walk in God light. When I am facing impactful choices, I always pray and have my faith in Jesus, that he will guide me in the right direction for me. I know he does not give me more than I can handle and I try to remember that when tough times are put upon me. Over the last couple of years, I have been faced with very impact paths. In this last year, my father was diagnosed with cancer and it has been very hard on me and

I study the bible , pray and worship God, it's my favorite thing to do every day,besides teaching everyone I know what I have learned from Gods word. I have two grown daughters from a previous marriage who inspire me always to continue in the word of God. I am blessed to be married for the last 25 yrs.

I believe school is the number one tool for success. I am convinced school is how you learn and use the adroitness to a career. I believe school should be everybody’s number one priority. I believe school is fun because at school your learning and growing. I believe school allows a good day because I believe a good day is a day where you were able to solve every life situation and problem due to your learning. I believe school is the most popular and best way to earn a successful career. I believe that some criminals do not need jail time but rather attentive listening time in school.

Since my youth, I had been an active member of a religious tradition that emphasized salvation by works— I grew up in the Catholic Church, but I went only because mom said to. I had more of an agnostic view of God -- I believed in God, but I didn’t try to learn about Jesus. I didn’t know the truth about Him.

What kind of person would I be Today if I did not have my Catholic faith? The past two years I have often asked myself this question. Starting my seventh grade year of school I had a difficult time with the girls in my grade. I was ignored, left out, talked about, I always seemed to be alone, and I only had one friend in my class. My eighth grade year seemed much worse because my friend switched schools. I became very close to switching schools multiple times that year; however I managed to stick it out until high school. My freshman year all my new friends were into the boys. It bothered me because most boys would not talk to me because I wanted to stay pure. Through all of this I kept my faith and it lead me through it. At church on Sundays

Freedom, a huge event with many rallies and endless laughs, was right around the corner, and I was inviting friends left and right. We get ourseleves to chought up worrying what the world think, that we easiest forget who created us. If we put ours focus on the media too much, we will be come what the world want us to be and self-conscious about what others think, if we are keeping ourselves worrying about what others think then we are really not going to know who we really are as a person. Not saying it easy, when it still hard for me. . I got irrationally mad at my mom because I didn’t want to refer to my Dad as a disabled person on google. I spent most of that night in a rage, throwing books against the wall, bawling and banging my fists on the floor of my bedroom. “Please help!” I yelled repeatedly.
