One day, I'd grown tired of running the hamster wheel of a life I'd created, and I suddenly realized that I was running nowhere quick. The longer I would run, the further I would become from myself, and yet, I kept running, due to the lack of direction. In other words, I’d devoted myself to living a life according to others, rather than serving the greatness that automatically comes from inside our true-selves. Rather than moving according to my true-self, I adapted and conformed to others, which left me with no direction, confused, lost and running in circles. Therefore, causing me to ignore and run from my commitment to nourish and develop my Higher-self, the inner-spirit. Nonetheless, the more I ran from my inner-spirit the further disconnected
The Great Gatsby is a book that almost proves the phrase “Money can’t buy happiness”
For as long as I can remember I have struggled with anxiety, I have been told countlessly to stop overthinking and worrying. Until recently I thought my this was a strength, that worrying would help me prepare. At snowboard state championships I realized that I needed to overcome this challenge, this has changed my outlook my own fear ever since.
As of the current time period with growing population people around the world need electricity to come out of the darkness. Many natural and man-made resources have been used to overcome this effect. But why there are many people around the world don’t have access to electricity; living in the darkness? Nuclear power, the most efficient way to generate electricity have been of minimal use. The governments cannot effort to install nuclear power because of the cost and the regulations. But why let the people suffer when there is a greener way. Nuclear power should be viewed from a different aspect because of the efficiency and the minimal effect caused to the environment instead on relying on coal and other resources with less efficiency.
It was the summer of 2012, my brother Ashton and I were in Hollywood, FL on vacation. We had been fishing since eight in the morning and we were bored out of our minds, so we hopped in a canoe and set off to what is the most thrilling event of my life. We were not prepared physically or mentally for what we were about to encounter.
I lost a job and did not find another one for several months. Once I did and tried to come back I was in 2 different car wrecks with the injuries and pain I was in there was no way I would have been able to complete successfully any of my classes or have them done in a timely fashion the concussion I suffered prevented me from remembering a lot of the time as well as the pain medications in which I was placed on. I tried again once I felt fine enough to go back and then I had health issues which required me to go in for surgery not once but twice. During that time I was not able to complete the classes as well in a timely fashion not only could I not lift my arms above my head but I needed help to assist me to be able to move about and therapy
Once upon a time, there was an illegal immigrant named Rosa she came from a poor family and her mother left her when she was 4 years old for another man.
Although, I enjoyed steady employment my desire to finish school lingered with me. I needed a guided path of straight forward thinking with no distraction also with no life worries of daily living and survival.
Mike and his wife Barb were happy to see me again. When I pulled into their driveway they were waiting outside his shop. Mike and I had made arrangements for me to purchase another ATV from him. This time I arrived to look at a 1984 Honda ATC250ex that he had restored. Mike is a shade tree mechanic who repairs old vehicles and ATVs and then flips them for a small profit. Entering his shop presents one with at least a dozen quads and dirt bikes all in a different stage of restoration. The youngest model in restoration is at least 25 years old. While most of the ATVs were in non-running condition, they weren’t treated like discarded trash. Each of Mike’s ATVs was positioned with disassembled parts sorted nearby as if every project had its own
On September eighteenth, two thousand one I was born four minutes after five o'clock to my parents Monica and Craig Tonn. I moved away as fast as i could to get some distance but then realized that this cat wanted me dead and i couldn't run so i had to fight. I ran and pounced on the cat like it did to me and i hit it with all of my force right on its chest. The cat let out a loud cry i felt relieved that i wasn't dying. I hit the cat again since it was still on the ground. Quickly the cat got up and ran away. I stood back watching this cat bllt down the street in pain and fear. The wound that this cat gave me on my face wa now catching up to me and it started to hurt. I turned around feeling like i was on top of the world reevaluating the fight in my mind thinking about how i could have improved my fighting technique. I kept walking until i got to the fence of
All my life I have had the opportunity to travel and broaden my horizons. I have been blessed with the ability to accumulate to different cultures and environments. From being born in Italy, moving to Japan, and now currently residing in Louisiana, I have seen more than what most others can only dream. Those three very different places are just a few of the dozens areas of the world I have traveled to, yet out of all of destinations I have visited New York City most definitely tops the list. This city is a world of it's own in my eyes. There is no other place I can see myself continuing my journey in life. It is no secret that college is a major stepping stone in the life of a young adult. It carves the path to their future. Ever since I can remember my parents have pushed me towards gaining a good
“Will she ever be okay?” are the words that invested within me through every minute that passed. I could not help but think the world was falling in around me and nothing would relieve the pain. My daughter had something terribly wrong, and all I could do was sit and wonder the outcome of this horrific event. The world around me began to feel suffocating as if there was no way out. I brought this precious life into this world with the mindset that I could guard her from all the cruelty and darkness. My body grew weak with each thought that crept in my mind and I could feel the chills running down my back each time the doctor came with an update. Despite everything that could go wrong, I never stopped believing that with prayer I was not fighting
“Bzzz, Bzzz, Bzzz!” As I roll over from my fetus-type sleeping position, I notice my 6 o'clock alarm buzzing away beside me and that only more thirty minutes remains to aquire the last bit of my beauty sleep before the daily struggle begins. “Bzzz, Bzzz, Bzzz!” Half an hour later, I roll over knowing that I must wake up now, so that I can perform my morning rituals. I reach over to my shiny, black bookcase that I use as my nightstand and touch the dismiss key on my iPhone. I cannot keep my eyes open because I feel like death due to an overwhelming amount of exhaustion, even though I calculated that I slept the night before for at least seven and a half hours. I concluded, however, that the thought of school itself ensued my unmotivated, depressed
On May 6th of 1997 I was born in St. Johns hospital in St. Louis, Missouri. My family and I lived in a small town in the suburbs of St. Louis. I lived with my mom dad, and older brother Tyler. I attended a catholic school from pre-kindergarten until fourth grade. The summer before I started fifth grade my family decided it was time to move. We moved about thirty minutes away from our previous house to a little town in Illinois called Bethalto.
Globalization which is defined as the process which breaks down the barrier of geography, legality and politics among countries (Scholte, 2002, cited in Baburajan, 2011) has become a fashionable term of recent decades. It enables people worldwide to experience the unprecedented changes in various aspects of their life, varying from study to entertainment. This immediate prevalence of globalization plays an increasingly vital role in higher education and creates opportunities for people to continue taking advanced studies (Altbach, 2004). Altbach (2004) points out that it is inevitable that globalization will have some effects on higher education due to the rapid development of economy, technology as well as science.
