Personal Narrative Analysis

Throughout the past year I went through a great deal of undertakings that caused me to become more experienced with my skills and how to overcome various challenges. These really built up my character and the way I am today. In all aspects, this past year consisted of going to Killington, Vermont, my brother going into the Air Force, meeting him in Texas for his graduation of basic training, completing a double backflip on a trampoline, landing a front flip on flat ground, accomplishment of a 2 ½ front flip on a diving board, getting 2nd at leagues, and competing in districts. All of these activities have advanced me in a skill or challenged me to an extent.

Kim Kardashian West expresses her outrage over one vital element that everyone entering marriage must have in place. According to Radar Online, April 14, 2016, Rob wants to marry Blac Chyna without a prenuptial agreement and his family is extremely worried that she will take everything that Rob has.

For many, their formative years have a large influence on who they become as adults. This can happen in many different ways including new experiences, discovering a new sport or hobby, and uncovering what they are passionate about. For me, this was falling in love with a new language from a very young age and becoming very interested in the culture that was associated with it.

Failure is truly negative if we choose to not learn from it. When we face setbacks and difficulties, we are given golden opportunities to grow as people. Learning from our shortcomings makes us wiser, stronger, and unveils a chance to turn an undesirable outcome into a building block of character. My hockey career has been a sinusoidal trail of highs and lows, but I always learned from the downturns.

It was a frigid March evening in the mountains of Colorado when I began to see life in a new way. While on a youth ski trip hiding from an armed man outside the cabin, I came to a point in my life that changed my way of living. This experience brought me to the realization that I will not always be guaranteed tomorrow so live each day I have to the fullest. I never thought a trip to the mountains of Colorado would help me see life from a new perspective; however, I thought wrong.

Welcome to my outlandish, yet in my opinion, amusing brain! The name presented to me upon birth is Taylor Lee Thompson. Currently, I am suffering through the struggles of junior year at Marion Senior High School. Difficult classes, early mornings, and extracurricular activities have made me an expert in the sport of juggling. The class that has appealed to me the most over the years is Criminal Justice. I found the behind the scenes instruction absolutely riveting! My instructor, Mrs. Hamm, kept me on my toes and I was always learning about crime, criminals, and cases. On the other hand, the class I utterly dread is history. Any and every type of history has always slowly bored me to sleep. I am convinced we are taught the same curriculum

It has been a while since we had last talked. How have you been? I have been fantastic, although school is substantially more stressful, when compared to seventh grade. I am still participating in and enjoying soccer. The last couple of holidays in which the family came together have been amazing.

From the very beginning of the school year, all the teachers have been acknowledging all the things that will prepare us for high school, and I have been thinking nothing about it. I kept telling myself that high school is still so far away. All of a sudden, it has hit me that i’m graduating and moving on to high school. In my short time in District 57, I have learned a vast amount of things from complex equations in math, to managing homework.

A time that a strongly held belief of mine was challenged, was when I stumbled upon an article that spoke of a fusion of religion and science. Growing up in a heavy Christian household and going to a very large church in Michigan, my life was filled with everything Christian, including the idea that evolution was not real. While in kindergarten and middle school I had been told to listen to teachers explain scientific ideas such as evolution, and natural selection, but to not believe them to be true, because God made everything and as such there would be no need for evolution or natural selection to fix things. For many years I followed this belief learning, but not truly understanding material, as I was raised to just take in the knowledge

Everyone will experience a death in their life at least once whether it’s a family member or friend, they will react to it differently and has to grieve in their own way. Death isn't something that someone looks forward too, so watching someone go from healthy, to where they can barely walk or talk on their own isn’t easy. But getting a lesson out of someones death takes away some of the pain, and helps you move on.

It was a day that I had been waiting for all season, why? Because it meant that the pain was going to be over and it was my final race to prove how good I really was to everyone and hopefully fulfill the goal my coach, school and fans set for me. That morning of October 28th I woke up really sick to my stomach. Nerves were taking over my body and I couldn't sit still. The ride to the course I remember putting my headphones in and zoning everything out and never truly coming out of it till after the race was over. I remember my mom hugging me and telling me how proud of me she was and that no matter how bad my shins hurt to keep running. My coach grabbed me before I went to the starting line and surprisingly said how proud he was of me too, but that it wasn't over so that could change. It was so cold outside and I remember being able to see my breath and worrying that it was going to really effect my performance. I could also see the

I see everyday people getting sucked into their technology. People don't enjoy watching events anymore without recording it on their cell phone. We all do this at concerts, sporting events, basically anywhere at anytime. This summer I went to a couple of concerts and at each of them all I could see was hundreds of cellphones around me and in the crowd. This happens everywhere from the Steelers game to the Bethel Park high school game. It appears that all these people are having a great time (when they probably are), but in fact they are just recording a video on their phone. This isn't capturing the moment like you believe you are. I can't fully enjoy something if I don't have all my attention to it. If I was watching the Steelers game or

I had grown tired of the glances I received on the train that lasted too long and broke as soon as I dared reciprocate. I couldn't fathom the fascination with watching a stranger simply sit on the train or complete a routine however, I was compelled to make an effort to understand the fixation. The next time I boarded train I was no longer simply a commuter hoping for a brief train ride independent from nameless commuters. I was an analyst on a freelance mission to disclose the reasoning behind the fixation on the mannerisms of the population. I took out my headphones, put away my book and for an hour I sat and observed, I watched the girl who couldn't stop biting her nails, a man who looked like all the coffee in the world couldn't prepare

My parents got together in May of 1983, they were both 18 years old. My dad, Mark, was your all-American guy who loved muscle cars, dogs, and racing. My mom, Kathy, was the fiery neighbor girl who wouldn't take anything from anyone. After a short six months of dating, they got engaged, however, the engagement lasted nine years. Two years later, my brother Matt came along on June 29, 1994. Matt was the apple of my fathers eye, they did everything together. Illegally, my dad got my brother into racing early by forging his birth certificate to say he was older. Matt raced dirt bikes, go carts, quads, and three wheelers until he was twelve years old.

My mother Leslie is the only female out of her siblings and as a result, often is perceived as having less credibility than her brothers. Most of the time, her feelings are ignored when family decisions take place. My mom expresses her emotions openly, which is perceived as weak and illogical to her brothers, who all possess more masculine and strong-willed qualities. My Uncle Mark and Uncle David for example, are in charge of my grandparent’s financials while my Uncle Stephen oversees any decisions regarding my grandparent’s health. Even though my mother has no issue being involved in these decisions, she was not even considered for either roles.
