A is for A Ride Over the summer of 2015 I went to my aunt’s quite a bit during the week. Sometimes when we would be going to the pool I brought my friend Hannah to my aunt’s house with me. There are other days when she just comes because I ask her. On days when she’s there my aunt would let me drive her side by side. My aunt has a large piece of land so it’s really fun. We did this days when she wasn’t there too. A side by side is like a glorified golf cart. I love driving it even if I have to bring other kids my aunt is babysitting. When it’s just Hannah and I it’s great. When it’s just Hannah and I go pretty fast and it’s really fun riding in the wind. I love racing through the trails, avoiding branches and bugs, and laughing with my best
I am a piece of clay, just as every person is. We are not just any kind of clay, though, we’re that special molding clay that never dries out. Because of this, we are constantly molded by almost everyone and everything surrounding our lives. At the beginning of life, we are molded by the hands of loving parents, but once we leave that safe-place, we are on our own. At that point, we can be tossed, slammed, poked at, and sometimes even ripped apart. One important event in my life that molded me and has helped make me the person I am today was my first roller coaster ride. Amusement rides don’t usually change a person’s life, but the first time I went on a roller coaster, I found myself stepping off the ride as an entirely different person. Most people conquer their fear of heights or fast-moving vehicles on thrill rides, but instead, I conquered the one thing most people are terrified to face. Something that’s more horrific than monsters and demons, and that is yourself. For me, the ride was more of a journey than anything. From the beginning to the end, I learned a
He knew it was going to be a no excuses to lose to weather and it was going to be a good day for fans to watch football tonight. He had met with Kyle Cannon who was the quarterback for the team and a running back on the team named Dion Gordon;
He began attacking her, specifically bitting her. She managed to close the bedroom door to separate him form her and he exited the unit. When she ran out of the apartment to try and get help the man thought she ran outside. He ran outside to try and follow her but the girl was able to quickly close the security door to lock him outside. At that point someone else in a neighbouring apartment saw the man wandering around outside.
“Are you sure that I am allowed to go on this ride?” I said with a questioning look on my face. The questioning look made my dad think the way I was thinking. “I’ll go and check.” I said as I dashed toward the old measuring system they had at Knott’s Berry Farm in each ride. I stood with my shoulders and head down while I was hoping that I wasn't tall enough. Two pieces of the paint on the system fell on my head like drizzling sprinkles on ice cream. Even with my shoulders and head down, I was still five inches taller than I was supposed to be.
As a child, growing up meant being tall enough for the Twizzler-level rides at Hershey Park. Specifically, twelve twisting, turning, looping, stomach dropping, heart pounding, roller coaster rides. Each visit, I carried my platform flip flops, in my bag, ready to slip on at the measuring station. Crossing my fingers that today was the day!
Write a narrative about 3 people who are on a road trip only to stop off at a gas station and pick up a fourth whom they don't know
Have you ever noticed how some cars seem to be smiling when you pass them on the road? From around age 7, I always told my mother that cars made by Mazda appeared to be smiling at me! Years later, to my surprise, my mother had purchased a 2011 Mazda 3 for my sixteenth birthday. Shortly after, I pointed out the smiling face that I had always noticed as a child. She finally agreed with me that the car appeared to be smiling due to its oddly shaped grille cover. The human-like faces it makes is not the unique characteristics of my car; it has a unique interior layout, an oddly shaped stain, and a dent in the back bumper from an unforgettable day!
With just three weeks left in the NFL’s regular season, there are five teams with double digit wins all looking to secure home field advantage through the playoffs. There are also nine teams with sub .500 records that still have a shot at making the playoffs. Say what you will about the current playoff system, but the next three weeks should be thrilling and I am excited to see how it all plays out.
On 11/22/2017 at approximately 17:48 hours I was dispatched to the 1400 Block East US-160 Highway, Oxford, Sumner County Kansas for a call that originated as a 911 hang up. While responding to the area I was informed the calling party from the hang up was the driver in a car vs deer accident.
Experiencing this roller coaster ride with y It has been a light and dark situation but all in all a very good learning experience for the both of us in learning one’s self. At the end of the day what is truth is the love that we share together and bringing us out of the darkness and into the light it has been a very trying situation sometimes I wondered if we would ever come out of this darkness. But then the light comes on and we understand why we go through what we go through together. We feel a sigh of relief with understanding. As for giving me that disconnection because without it I wouldn’t be saying this on paper. So here I am preparing myself for what I do best with the help and love from Larry.
A time in which I tried something new was roller coasters. It was August 9, 2015 my brother, sister, and me packed our bags thinking we were going to our grandparents, yet did we know we were on our way to Branson. We pulled up to a hotel, that was when we finally noticed we were nowhere near our grandparents house.
I was always scared of roller coasters, something about them made me feel weird inside. I would go to Great America with my friends and wait outside the rides that were scary for me. I never really thought about getting on any rides that dropped at the speed of lightning and loops that make your stomach flip upside down twenty times. I would just sit down and watch the rides as they dropped. That was until one day, my friend told me “Close your eyes I’m taking you to somewhere that’s fun.” I didn’t know what she meant by that but I did what she told me to do. She also covered one of my ears I didn’t know why. “Open your eyes Steven.” I did and at that moment my mouth dropped. I tried running from the line but it was too late. My friend had made me get in line for the scariest coaster in the park. It was named “Flight Deck” .The seats were empty and the small gates opened. She pushed me into the seat and locked me in as fast as she could. I heard the snap which meant the seat was
The decisions we make and the actions we take have voiced our characters for us, and our spoken words have exposed our perceptions. At one point or another in everybody’s life, one will strive to become someone, to make something of him or herself. One is limitless in what one can evolve into, but how to get there is another matter. The destination is just that: a destination. There is no significance to a station if there is no link to it. Therefore, the result is no result if there is no way to reach it, and so Willa Cather had once said, “The end is nothing; the road is all.” And I am inclined to concur with this writer.
The gps says “ arrived “ and we are ready for the turn up. As we are looking for a place to park we come to conclusion that there are not any because there were so many cars. There are cars that are beaten up badly. Some cars have no hoods , some cars rear-view mirror are hanging as if someone just drove by and took it off. Finally I spot the perfect place to park and I hear a deep voice yell at me and say “ You might want to park on up the curbs some more because these people around here can’t drive .” I look up and see it was tall lady directing me and thought it was hilarious but I still took her advice. My girls and I hop out the car and head walking down to the event. There was extremly loud music that you could hear even if you were
If only I knew my brother was lying; It would have made everything a lot less scary. We were coming around a bend on the ride when I saw a gigantic animatronic t- rex, with yellow, razor sharp teeth, and claws glistening a hint of red from its last victims,which only increased my fear. I said goodbye to the t-rex thinking that the end of my life was coming soon when I heard. Click-Click-Click- The ride was struggling to go up the steep hill. Thinking that my brother would never lie to me about a ride, I thought a loop d loop was coming my way.
