I read two articles that I found interesting on the science daily website. The first article is about how nutrient pollution is changing the sounds in the sea. The second was a video about a comeback for Pandas.
In the first article written by the University of Adelaide, it discusses how the nutrient pollution that is emptying into the seas from cities, towns and agricultural land is changing the sounds that are made by marine life. This could potentially make it hard for the creatures of the sea to recognize the navigational cues usually used, which could ultimately cause a decline in health and overall reproduction of more sea creatures, such as fish, shrimp and sea urchins for generations to come. Without the proper sounds of the sea, the sea creatures may lose direction of their shelter and without a proper shelter and diet, they will not survive thus, will not reproduce. If they are not able to reproduce, it is possible for these sea creatures to decline in population to the point of endangerment or even extinction. Not to mention, other possible negative effects that

The chinese government was credited for this progress due to their panda reserves as well as limiting local impacts on panda habitats. The video discusses how the Panda is still not in the clear, but human conservation is surely helping to get them back on track with population growth. Although the Panda is having much success, the video tells that the case isn't the same for many other species, 200-100,000 to be exact, this amount of species go extinct each year. This interested me because I love animals, and panda’s are one of my favorite animal, they are super cute. Hopefully as we learn more about each species, and as more people continue to conserve endangered species, we could lower this
People are polluting the oceans which not only affects us but also affects the beautiful underwater habitats and interesting sea creatures. Two billion people within 30 miles of the coast create 100 metric tons of coastal plastic waste (Doc.1). This plastic waste can get caught around sea animals, injuring them or even killing them (OI). Oils spills can really hurt marine life (Doc.2). Some creatures could eat it or get covered in it. If the fish eats the oil and then someone or something eats the fish they could get extremely ill. When there are excess nutrients in the water algal blooms occur, which is when algae has too many nutrients and reproduces in large numbers, this can also hurt people (OI). For these reasons and many more we should
Ever since the trees got chop down the pandas population is going down the hole state has over billion people. Everything when roads are made, homes, cities, and even farms. They even, plant trees, and other resources. The giant panda shrank as trees has grow. The panda habit was decreased by a haft between 1972 and 1985.
On March 21st, our class went to the Monterey Bay Aquarium. The purpose of this trip was not only to explore Earth’s natural habitat’s, but it was also to gather information on our upcoming project and to gather information on how the community of St.Mary, affects the Monterey Bay Aquarium. The answer that we found out is one based off of what we eat. The Monterey Bay Aquarium released an app where it showed which type of seafood were lower in numbers than others. So, if plankton were very low in numbers, it is advised that we not fish for them or not eat as much of it. This shows based just off of what we eat, we can affect the numbers of in the ocean. Also, those plastic bags we buy at Target and Walmart, that we drop outside, drifts itself to the streams, which flow to rivers, which go to oceans, they are floating there, not doing much harm, until sea turtle comes by starts eating it, but gets tangled and choked in it, dies.
First, the article states that pollution of ocean by industrial chemicals, oil rings caused to decrease otters' population. Otters cannot survive polluted ocean since their resistance ability cannot afford it. So, they died because of pollution. In contrast, the professor believes that pollution should kill other spicies in the ocean. However, population of other spicies is stable. Furthermore, there is no evidence that ocean is polluted. If ocean had been polluted, there would be huge effect on
Because of their low-energy diet they avoid stressful situations, preferring shallow slopes and solitary living. They use scent markers to avoid one another. Giant pandas don’t roar like other bears, but baaaa like goats, or or honk, growl and bark to talk. Cubs whine and croak for attention.
Imagine a peaceful paradise, where the heavenly ocean breeze and the glorious blue waves set the mood for delighted sensations. This beautiful fantasy of a beach will perish, if humans continue to let ocean pollution conquer Earth’s alluring waters. Terrible things are deposited in our ocean including, garbage, toxic waste, oil, sewage spills, and plastic waste. Every hour, 1.5 million pounds of garbage are dumped into the ocean, killing 100,000 marine creatures due to plastic entanglement, poisoning, etc. (All-Recycling-Facts.com). If we continue to be incautious, we could be dealing with a mass extinction of marine life! Humans could lose a food source soon if we can’t consume fish because of the intoxicated waters. Something must
Look a unicorn! Wait, look at the dragon! No one can tell an individual what they see and do not see. Look at life as it is, believe in what is displayed because existence precedes essence. In the play Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead, Tom Stoppard depicts that perception is reality by showing Rosencrantz and Guildenstern’s confusion from the coin breaking the laws of probability, their sense of direction, and the players thought on death.
all doom gloom. The tigers There are now 2,060 giant pandas in the wild, leading the
Humans fish to survive and in doing so they will target specific species leading to overfishing. Sound pollution is causing issues with the wildlife of the ocean in how they communicate and move around. With human interaction comes trash which gets left in the ocean and affects many different species.
Synopsis: The year of the panda , by Miriam Schlein. Lu yi a young boy living in a farm with his father learning how to do things just the way he taught him. The young boy wasn't like any other kids his curiosity led him to many other things such as discovering strange things finding objects on the floor when he worked with his father Lu yi had many characteristics that made him different and showed that he was special. One day while he was working with his father he heard two cars pull up to his driveway, lu yi quickly ran to hide behind some bushes and began to pay attention as two men began to approach his father. One of the guys began to talk to Lu yi’s father and started telling him that he needed to move from the farm that he was
Humans want more with the increasing population, which is in effect is causing habitats to be destroyed, they want specific animals thus we breed more to fill these roles. This causes fluctuations in food chains which lead to their complete collapse, this has the effect of causing the disappearance of entire species, millions of living animals. So should the focus be on saving near extinct species be focused on the ones that people like. The ones, that in the big picture, are non essential or should the efforts be focused on creatures essential to entire other species. People may be more likely to want to save pandas because of the way they look, but they presently have minimal effect on their environments. Compared to plants, the bases that support all other life, they are they are worthless, unfortunately people seem to care less about a non sentient plant than an animal that people like the appearance
The Prioress, as the superior nun, is an emotional and sentimental woman of God who wears her emotions on her sleeves and loses control over every little events. Although she attempts to keep her composure, she often lapses into a melancholic temperament. The character of the Prioress in Geoffrey Chaucer 's Canterbury Tales is introduced as an elegant, sophisticated nun, but she is actually a prejudiced person. It is Chaucer 's intent in her presentment to show that the nun is inconsiderable, irreligious, and infantine.
Ocean pollution is one of the most urgent issues in our world today. The ocean is crucial to our ecosystem and it is being severely damaged at an alarmingly increasing rate. In this paper I will educate about the role the ocean plays in our beautiful Earth, why it is being so widely ignored and dismissed, the causes of pollution, and its effects on animals and humans alike.
Giant pandas are among the rarest mammals in the world. There are probably less than 1,000 left in the wild. Although adult giant pandas have few natural enemies, the young are sometimes preyed upon by leopards. Habitat encroachment and destruction are the greatest threats to the continued existence of the giant panda. This is mainly because of the demand for land and natural resources by China's 1 billion inhabitants. To offset this situation, the Chinese government has set aside 11 nature preserves where bamboo flourishes and giant pandas are known to live.
Poverty and suffering is considered not out of the norm for many families in Pakistan. Many of them have had to make enormous sacrifices in order to survive in these hard times. As seen in the previous paragraph children who are to sacrifice their education to help the family during times of poverty, may never really be able to receive an education later. For most families that are in the same situation like Rafiq and his family, the basic necessities such as food and water that others take for granted are now considered the highest priority in their lives.
