When communicating in general it is important to be aware of a number of general skills and making sure that you consider the needs of your audience when to best address their needs.
Cultural Differences – You should be aware of cultural differences so that you do not offend your audience. This means being aware of who you will be communicating with in advance and learning about their cultural background. You will also need to be aware of your body language and personal presentation as you want to make a good impression and show that you have taken any cultural differences on board to make your audience feel at easy. Looking back at the example above you do need to adapt your presentation and other things that you can adapt are your voice, use of terminology and format. For example you need to modulate your voice to get the best effect and show excitement when talking to people or trying to pitch an idea. Listen to the best TV presenters or even Vloggers and you will see the one thing that stands out is how they vary the tone of their voice for different parts of a presentation. You can use a range of questions to find out about the needs of the other party that you are working with during initial conversations. Similarly being able to answer their questions and preparing for this in advance is just as important. Questions and answers is the basic format of communication but doing it effectively is something that can be improved over time. The number one thing that you want to do when using Q&A in a business context is to find out about your customer and make them feel that you are going to do everything in your power to meet their needs in the most cost-effective and timely manner
My interpersonal skills have been developed through working closely with colleagues whilst on placement but also through my employment at the coffee shop, this has been particularly useful when training new staff.
I do need to be aware that I will need to adapt the way I communicate with different audiences because different people all require me to connect with them in a variety of different styles, i.e. adult-adult, child-child, adult-child. Communication is one of the most vital and effective keys to any profession. It is one thing that is vital to any profession and is highly recommended to be educated for education professions. When your part of a health care profession it involves talking to different cultures and audients, like patients and clients. For all types of the people that you will talk to will receive different types of communication skills. There three types of communication skills, writing, listening, and speaking. These three things are extremely important for communication and with any healthcare provider.

Ability to communicate with patients confidently – By constantly being around and talking to residents, patients and nurses in the retirement homes I have been able to develop great communication skills. This skill would be extremely helpful during medical training when working with real patients.
3.1a An effective manager need to have good communication skills, be able to listen to others and to make decisions based on the information received. As a manager I need to be organised and be able to prioritise my tasks, and have the knowledge of the service, staff and clients to be able to make appropriate choices. . Effective communications is important in developing positive relationships because as a teacher`s assistant it develops trust between you and them communication is verbal, body language and eye contact and it is a two way process in how we listen and respond, identify and understand and be able to respond to it through communication appropriately to their ages needs and abilities. During the course of this semester; the variety of writing styles and essays assigned to me in my communication skills class encouraged the development of my writing skills, as well as provided me with more self-assurance in my abilities. My writing, research, and presentation abilities enhanced through practice, determination, and the understanding I gained during this course. Communication differences – It is important to know the children in your school well as some may have communication difficulties which are not apparent on first meeting a child. A good example of this is a child who is on the Autistic Spectrum as their interpretation of social situations and abstract language tends to be greatly underdeveloped. You must speak plainly and with no ambiguity so as to no cause confusion. Children with a mild hearing loss may just need you to speak slowly and clearly, a more severe hearing loss may require sign language for effective communication and so it may be necessary to take training in sign language if a child with severe hearing loss is coming to your school. I ensured whilst I made my presentation that I spoke clearly and steadily. I have a tendency to talk quickly so I paid particular attention to controlling the speed of my voice. I also ensured I maintained eye contact with my audience and tried not to focus just on one individual.

Furthermore, the speaker is visually boring because of they are lack of confidence and fear of public speaking. Effective speakers use visual language to engage the audience. Your hand gestures, facial expression, posture, movement and eye contact are critical components of your visual language. When you take the stage, always maintain eye contact with the audience, not with the screen behind you. Make sure you are appropriately and professionally dressed for the occasion. Make sure your appearance is neat and clean. You don’t need to have a 1000 dollar suit but you need to be dressed appropriately. You don’t want the audience to remember you because your slip was showing or because your shirt was wrinkled. Don’t wear anything that is distracting and takes away from your message. For example, 20 bangle bracelets that make noise every time you gesture is not a great idea. Practice your hand gestures and body movement when you rehearse your speech.
