This book is a very good book. It is not one of my favorite books, but it is in, or somewhat close to, the top ten list. It has an intriguing story and has some humor in it to make sure that it isn’t all mellow.

Anywhere in people’s lives, whether it’s in a movie, a book, or in real life, there are children having a problem with their parents. For books and movies, it adds extra tension and drama between characters, and in real life, it’s an everyday situation that occurs frequently throughout parent and childhood. However, these tensions between parents and their children can have serious effects. In the book That Was Then, This Is Now, written by S.E. Hinton, one of the characters, M&M, changes everyone’s lives because he was running away from his father’s mean comments. Though this conflict had many sources throughout the book, the tension between M&M and his father causes changes in the lives of other characters, and drastically impacted the storyline

the lovers eventually come to a point where they can no longer be without one another.

This book is about young Korean girls and its author is Korean as well. It illustrates to young readers that although the girls pictured my look different than they do, the issues and feelings they face are universal.

Ah, overall this book is great for readers who love intense fantasy, the book welcoming you just as much as they welcome the kids in Croak. It doesn't keep you exhausted on the edge every chapter, but it keeps you craving more. Something you need to know about this book is that it's hardcore fantasy, and you'll love it so much you'll want to be trapped

Evaluation: Although the dialect of some of the characters takes some getting use to, I enjoy this book. This is an American classic, filled with humor but critical of people who can be so civilized and so cruel at the same time. It is a boy’s adventurous coming of age that celebrates the individual spirit of America and the romantic vision of innocence and virtue in nature.

The novel In Cold Blood by Truman Capote is a prime example why parent figures are important in children's life. For example, Perry is the antagonist of the novel, and he did not have a mother figure due to his mother’s alcoholism, and because of his father's absence, he did not have a father figure. The novel also demonstrates the effect not having a father figure will do to children. Lara Jean writes letters to “all the boys she has loved before” as a goodbye letter to them and stores them in a hatbox her mother gave her before her death. Her sister Margot dates their next door neighbor, Josh, who Laura Jean claims “she liked first”. Before Margot moves off to college she breaks up with Josh. Lara Jean’s letters get sent by someone, that gets revealed at the end of the book. The next morning, Josh asks her about the letter she wrote to him. She lies and says she no longer has feelings for him, and says she is dating, Peter Kavinsky, the coolest boy in school. Lara Jean and Peter decide to fake date, causing them to spend ample time together. Both Lara Jean and Peter end up having feelings for each other. Josh ends up getting jealous of Peter and confronts him causing Margot to overhear the conversation. Margot and Lara Jean eventually make-up but, do Josh, Lara Jean, and Peter make up? You will have to read the book to find out. “To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before” storyline is continued through “P.S. I Still Love You” and “Forever and Always, Lara Jean”. I loved this book so much. There is so much action and is so much better and exciting with so much amazing detail and description. This is one of my favorite books ever. When you read it, you don’t want to put it down and it makes you feel like you are with the characters in the book and you know them so well. I recommend this book to anyone who can read at this level.

The characters bring a riveting story to life when reading. Throughout the book, I felt emotions left and right for the characters and what they were going through.
