Everyone faces challenges and complications in their life but i strongly feel what is important is what you learn from that obstacle. Throughout my junior year i was dealing with a situation that lead to events that i never thought would happen to me. My mother, father, sisters, and i have been going through some challenges that caused my family to split. It began when my parents divorced and my mother met someone who didn't respect me nor my sisters. I couldn't explain how difficult it was to listen to the negativity that went on in that house. Its hard to wake up and smile knowing you're not welcomed in your own house. My mother agreed with everything he said and he was clearly the king and we had to bow down to him. Eventually i ended up
No one has really did through what i have been through other if they did they had a different solution but it fits for me because it was a big obstacle in my life.I wanted to have a better life for me and my brother I was tired of taking care of everybody but myself the definition in the dictionary is a thing that blocks one's way or prevents or hinders progress. And it was true i was letting everybody else hold me down i was no longer a innocent little girl i felt like i was a mom i took care of so many kids when i was a kid myself. It was a huge obstacle in my life letting go of the hurt i felt because i didn’t have a childhood i was suppose to have but i learned to forgive those mistakes that i had to suffer from and now i can move on with
In my culture, society looks down at mental illness and when news of mental illness gets out in the society, one’s reputation is pretty much destroyed. My elder brother, Imran, was misdiagnosed with bipolar disorder when he was a teenager. My family was still living in Bangladesh at the time and my brother’s illness was treated as a secret by my parents. My parents went above and beyond to hide my brother’s illness because we come from a culture that is quick to condemn parents for their children being abnormal, my family felt very protective of the fact that we had mental illness in our family. Family visitation and guests in our home were strictly monitored by my mother and my siblings and I were coached to make excuses for my brother. My brother’s illness shaped me as a person because I realized that I needed to be able to overcome the obstacles life throws in my way in order to take care of my family.
Phillip stated his best part about college is being able to learn, having professors who actually care and being in organizations that are made to help minorities succeed.
“Sometimes life can feel like an obstacle course, but if we try hard enough, we can usually make it over the hurdles.” This quote, written by Pearson, means that in life we will face difficult challenges if we try hard enough we can overcome them. When I read this quote a question popped in my mind, “How do we overcome obstacles?” I thought about it and I think we overcome obstacles by looking at what options we have to solve the obstacle and we choose the best one.
The obstacle that I faced fits in my definition, because it shows that if I was never able to face that at the time I wouldn’t be able to go and play for teams. If I never knew how not to be scared in basketball games, and not freeze up during games too, I wouldn’t be able to play for teams. So that was an obstacle that I had to overcome, because if I didn’t I knew that I probably wouldn’t be able to play the sport the I love. The reason why I feel like this was an important obstacle was that I could play with friends, but I wouldn’t be knowledgeable of what I would be doing.
Time management is an on-going challenge that is important for my overall sucess. I currently work a full time job that requres many hours of travel. Gradaute work requires many dedicated hours of study time. Maintaining a healthy lifesytle is important for my overall well being. One challenge that I must overcome is maintaining enough sleep. One goal that I am working on to impove my sleep hygeine is to go to bed at the same time everynight and disconnect from social devices in my bedroom. Another goal is scheduling most of my work for completion before noon, when I am most alert.
“Be thankful for each new challenge, because it will build your strength and character.” Every once and awhile we will get our boots stuck in the challenges that we will have to trudge through to become stronger. Truly, we don't grow when things are easy or non-chaotic, rather we sprout into a growing tree when there is a rain storm. Life throws us overboard at every twist and turn so we have to batten down the hatches. Not only that, but we also seem to fall deeper into a bottomless pit when we attempt to take the shorter path. Overall, we have all faced challenges within our life, whether from a problem at home, to losing a soccer game. A maze that is endless, quick sand that swallows you whole; can both describe a challenge.
My family makes a sufficient amount of money to take care of home necessities, but we only make so much money that we consider higher education a luxury. In addition, growing up without my father I have had to overcome many challenges including a lack of confidence and self love. Over time I have overcome these obstacles and I am proud of the young man I am today. I still find that I am my biggest critic, but instead of getting down on myself, I push myself harder to grow. Making mistakes is something I have accepted and have come to understand in order to get closer to my objectives both onstage and off. Everyday is an opportunity to learn, I make the choice challenging myself and grow as a student and as an artist. My background of growing
My obstacle that i had to overcome proves many things about my def of an obstacle which is ‘‘An obstacle is something that you have to overcome in your life.’’ Having to deal with an obstacle like mine which is having to move to a different city is really something that is a thing you have to overcom in life. I had to make new friend, meet new people, and pretty much have to start miy life all over again because i wont know anything about the city i would be moving to. Having to start over in your life is a big obstacle to overcome and it made my life very hard until i met one of my best friends that i will talk abou later in my story. My def of an obstacle will soon be proven when you read the rest of my life story.
As Voltaire once said “ No problem can stand the assault of sustained thinking” and with the help of Google, I am pretty positive I have at least a little understanding of what this quote’s purpose is. As we live our lives, we are faced with obstacles to overcome to accomplish certain goals we are after. When these obstacles or problems arise we have to stop and think about how to solve the issue to be able to move past the issue, and continue to work towards our goals.
“The smile on my face doesn't mean my life is perfect, it just means I appreciate what I have and what God has blessed me with” The unknown person once said. That quote really ties into the character named Quarta from the book named “The Girl Born Who Was Born With Only 2 Arms And 2 legs,” because Quarta has only two arms and two legs which is different. People need to give her another chance and stop underestimating her.
And so on. The point is that opportunity coming from having to deal with obstacles is not a new concept. Humans have known it to be a fact for millennia. The Stoics firmly believed that you must take the obstacles in your life and turn them to your advantage, controlling what you can and accepting what you can’t. Not easy by any means, but eminently doable. We all have the ability to flip obstacles into opportunity but sadly, we all don’t tap into it. We choose how we look at things, so it makes sense that how we approach problems in our lives determines how tricky they will be to overcome. By controlling irrational emotion, we see things as they are, not as they seem. And then we are able to take the negative (obstacle) and turn it into an
We all face obstacles in our lives. Sometimes the obstacles are physical and we must determine a path in which to best navigate past them. Occasionally, they are less visible, but no less real. From childhood we learn how to overcome obstacles, but as we age the obstacles become seemingly more difficult to navigate. How we choose to overcome our obstacles is dependent upon how we have found success in overcoming them throughout our lives. Resiliency is an enabling attitude which allows us to overcome those obstacles (Harrington, 2012).
When I was a child, I remember someone telling me, “Obstacles do not block the path, they are the path”. I never truly understood that brief phrase until my own obstacles altered the pace of my life. In life, one is faced with trials and tribulations, which makes for an interesting outlook on life. However, overcoming those very trials and tribulations are what makes life’s outlook meaningful.
At least once in everyone’s life there is an obstacle that they face and have to overcome. Obstacles and barriers are used as a way to help shape people to help them become what they are supposed to be in life. Some Obstacles and barriers can be small and could be easily fixed, however some are Big and may take a while to overcome. Since I am only sixteen I have not had many problems, and for the problems that I did have were actually very small. When trying to answer this question I come to realize that none of the major problems I had were external they were all mainly internal, more specifically myself. The main obstacle I have had to overcome in my life was accepting myself for who I am and learning how to love me for me.
