We read the book called ¨the Outsiders¨ and we also watch the movie. The book and the movie have some difference and some similar. In S.E.Hinton's book the outsiders had Ponyboy with brownish hair but with black hair. Or how in the book Sodapop has brown hair and not like in the movie dark gold hair. In francis ford coppola movie two bit didn't have long red sideburns. In the book Dally had blonde hair but in the movie he had light brown hair. Francis Ford Coppolaś movie left out for things from the book or they were different from it. In S.E Hinton's book the greasers visited Johnny multiple time like in the movie they only visited Johnny twice. In the movie Darry pushes pony instead of hitting him like in the book. Like in Francis Ford Coppolaś
The “Outsiders” movie and novel are very different and similar. The book and the movie have some similarities. After really comparing the two there was a lot of differences.
There was also important scenes that weren't in the movie but in the novel somewhere near the ending Sodapop runs out of the house and his brothers ran after him that was one important scene that the movie didn't show, it just skip that and went straight to the end. Then the part where Johnny’s mom came to see him at the hospital it didn’t show that in the movie only shown when the nurse told Johnny that his mom wanted to see him but didn't actually show his mom. The movie did add some scenes that weren't shown in the movie it showed Dally going into the store after Johnny’s death and robbing it and running
In the book “The Outsiders” there is more detail and the plot seems to go at a slower pace than the movie. The greasers are from the west side of town while
S.E Hinton’s book, The Outsiders was a very good book about this group of people called the Greasers who go up against the higher class of society, called the Soc’s. However there was a movie that came out in March 25, 1983. There were some similarities and differences and that is what we are going to talk about today. Both the movie and the book are both similar and yet they are different. Lets see some similarities and differences.
The book and the movie of the Outsiders are two very different stories. The book has so much more detail then the movie. The movie is not the most detailed but it does get its point across. There are may similarities and also many differences between the two the book is by far more interesting and more detailed then the movie. I enjoyed the book a lot and the movies a lot but the movie was missing a lot.
How can two people that belong in the same gang be the complete opposite of each other ? how do little boys turn into thugs and go to jail at age 10. However, in S.E Hinton’s novel the outsiders , their are two characters that are alike. Johnny and Dally are similar because they both have abusive parents that do not care about them and place very little value on their lives. Yet despite these similarities is that Johnny Follows the rules and Dally breaks the law on purpose and when the church burnt down johnny went to help but dally did not.
II. Similarities (stick with at least four)- In the movie and book Ponyboy gets along with his brother sodapop very well they stick up with each other. The movie and the book are both named the outsiders. In both movie and novel the Greasers and socs have a fight the Greasers won the fight. Also when ponyboy and johnny got jumped by A soc ANd they killed him after they ran off into
Stereotyping plays a large role in the events of S.E. Hinton’s novel The Outsiders. The two main opposing groups, the Socs and Greasers, constantly face problems because of the stereotypes associated with their social groups. As seen in the novel, stereotypes and prejudice cause extreme and unnecessary conflicts. Both groups have predetermined opinions of the other, but as the story progresses, many of the characters begin to realize how similar the groups can be. The stereotypes observed in the novel can easily be compared to those in real life. Both the Greasers and the Socs share many of their opinions with the other members of their groups, and this leads to many misunderstandings. In fact, most of the conflicts in the novel are caused
Paragraph 1 The Outsiders was put into the genre fiction because the story is made up. It was however based off S.E Hinton’s high school years, but it is not a complete replica because the story does not include S.E. Hinton herself. The story has a lot of realistic details but since it’s not real or have any real info in it has to be fiction. The story also does not have any other elements that would make it fall into different genres. Paragraph 2
In the novel and movie The Outsiders there are many differences in events that are present in
According to the book, Pony wrote the book “the Outsiders” for his English project. The movie also has some events that the book doesn’t have just like the book has events that the movie doesn’t have.
For instance, in the book Joppy knew Albright; Albright knew Todd Carter; Todd Carter knew Richard McGee as well as Matthew Terrell whereas in the movie every character denied knowing each other except Albright and Joppy. Another noticeable difference is that in the book Frank Green, Daphne’s brother ends up murdered and in the movie he lives and they both end up moving. The third noticeable difference is a character name change from the book to the movie; Matthew Teran in the book is Matthew Terrell in the movie and he ends up being murdered in the book whereas at the end of the movie he’s running for mayor. A fourth noticeable difference is the pier scene. In the book Albright and Easy meet at the Santa Monica pier and in the movie it is the Malibu pier. And the last most noticeable difference between the book and the movie is that Mouse knows Daphne Monet or shall we call her by her real name Ruby Hanks; however, in the movie the audience never finds that out. In the movie the only true thing you get to know about Daphne is that she is both black and white. Therefore, due to the many differences between the book and the movie it is confusing to the audience since it is almost like dealing with two different stories because of the plot inconsistencies.
This book showed the struggle between rich and poor. The two main groups of the story were the Socs and the greasers. The Socs are in the upper class while the greasers are the poor ones that dislike the Socs because they have more money, better cars, and act like they are better than the greasers. The Outsiders is a good story by S.E. Hinton that shows the struggles of growing up Hinton did a fine job with the character development, the plot, and the theme with a few flaws.
fact he was mad. If he was mad, it was a pity, however if he had
The book and the film were both simular, and yet different in many ways. An example would be, in the film, Ponyboy was walking to the drive-in and meeting Cherri and Marcia. Although in the book, Ponyboy began his journey by telling the readers about his experience about being jumped by the Socs and being threatened. The director probably had some options to pick from to leave out from the movie, and the director chosed this to leave out. Leaving out the part where Ponyboy was jumped was an effective move because without the experience Ponyboy was lost and helpless because he did not know what to do when he and Johnny got cornered in the park by Bob and other Socs.
