To lead is to “to go before or with to show the way” and a leader is “a person or thing that leads.” As stated from Dictionary.com. Harriet Tubman and Frederick Douglass are two of the most courageous influential people in history. From being nothing but a piece of property to being a voice to every enslaved person who didn’t or couldn’t have one. Mainly I would say that the leadership qualities of Tubman’s would be courage and generosity while I would describe Douglass as commitment and teachability.
People like doctors, therapists, teachers, managers, and boss’s are commonly associated with everyday leaders. But leadership can be shown in many other ways, whether it’s making decisions, helping out, or showing responsibility. It could be as simple as doing the right thing, knowing that people will look up to you and will follow your example. Being a leader doesn’t mean you're more important or better than anyone else, but more that you can be a good influencer
What is leadership? Are individuals destined to lead or are they mentored into it? Leadership can be taught and seen by hard work, mentoring and a specific mind set, but the great leaders are born with the leadership quality. Leadership is taken from hard work. If one individual sees another individual working hard than the other will try and help the fact and get the job done with more efficiency by he also trying his hardest. It has a conformity affect. If most people in the group work hard and keep their eyes on the prize than good things will happen. Leadership could have been taught by the worker that began the domino affect with the conformity of the group. He could have a very humble father that taught him that hard work pays bills. Therefore if he works to his abilities than the worker will receive riches. If a worker only half-asses it than he will not move up the chain of life. Some people have mind sets that make them successful. Herbert hoover, the 31st President of the United States was an orphan.( The Biography.com website.) This tells us that no one's life is invaluable, and that no matter what environment a person comes
The Air Force Senior Noncommissioned Officer Academy defines a leader as “…someone who influences others to achieve a goal.” (CF02, FRLD, p. 9, 2012) Thomas Jefferson was a visionary and ethical leader that fought for and ensured that a group of colonies in a new land achieved the ultimate goal of creating the United States of America. While he was the third President of our nation, one could argue that his most influential work came years before his Presidency. Jefferson’s visionary and transformational leadership was crucial to inciting the Colonists and his passion was evident in the words he used to declare our independence from British tyranny. His ethical character was also
