A. A common religion practice amongst Armenians is Christianity
1. Armenians have practiced Christianity dating back to the age of Apostles. Apostles are Jesus chief disciples. And two Apostles Thaddeus and Bartholomew were the first to preach the gospel in Armenia.

April 24, 1916 Dear Ottoman leaders, My name is Alex Petrossian. I am 25 and I am walking through the eternal desert with my fellow Armenians without food or water. It was almost as if we were walking through the sins of the Ottomans. They stripped us naked and left us to rot in desert as the sun evaporates the skin off our bones.
Religious belief and practices are deeply rooted in traditions and teachings from sacred scriptures and texts. Indigenous religions are specific to a tribe, region, and cultures that have had various influences in their core religion. Religion is a very personal issue for most people and therefore closely guarded. Studying religion is necessary to have an understanding of the connections and foundations that have been built throughout its history.
In 1915 the Turkish government started a crusade against Christian Armenians. It included horrific massacres that were started by Abdul-Hamid II who thought the Armenians wanted a revolution, so he had 300,000 Armenians killed. The result of this was friction between the Muslim and Christian community (Gale 2012). “The Turkish leadership blamed the Armenians as a liability that was weakening the empire. They quickly began stripping away Armenian rights, disarming Armenian military personnel, and forcing them to serve in labor divisions” (Gale 2016). The quote above shows that this is the quintessence of a witch hunt against Armenians.
Macbeth's confidence skyrocketed, feeling invincible, making him arrogant, leading to his death. Macbeth's power hungry, making his ambition extraordinarily large. “I have no spur to prick the slides of my intent”(Act 1, scene 4). This represents Macbeth’s ambition, which highlights his dangerous nature. Furthermore, in order to achieve more power, he has to kill people that are in his way.
The Armenian Genocide, also sometimes called the first genocide, happen in April 1915. The Ottoman government had a plan to decimate the Armenian population in the Ottoman Empire. There was approximately 1.5 Christian Armenians lived in the Ottoman Empire at that time. The Armenian Genocide physically annihilated approximately 664,000 to 1.2 Christian Armenian from the Spring of 1915 to the Fall of 1916. They went through starvation, illness due to exposure and massacres.
Comparing two of my favorite readings, which are Talhouk’s Speech and Gregorian’s “The Armenian Community Of Tabriz” it’s obvious that these two represent the struggles that we have to endure in order to preserve our culture and language. This was the main topic that both of the writers were discussing and trying to solve by fighting back with their individual ways, which in my opinion, is easily relatable to our case, as Armenians, we went through a lot trying to hold onto our traditions and protect our culture.
Religion is the set of beliefs, feelings, principles and practices that define the relations between human being and sacred or
“I’m going to have 11 more” was my grandmother’s response to the doctor, after she almost died giving birth to her first child. The doctor recommended that she have no more children, but she refused to abandon her original wedding promise of raising 12 children. When my dad was born, he and his mother, my grandmother, almost died. If my grandmother originally listened to the doctor after giving birth to her first child, if she died giving birth to any of her other children, or if my father died at birth, I would not be here writing this today. My grandmother lived a remarkable life. Not only did she successfully give birth to 12 children, but she also held daycares and welcomed more children into her home. I feel so blessed to have had the opportunity to spend time with my grandmother when she came to live with us. She lived an extraordinary life and without her, I would not be alive today.
Since a hundred years ago, the discussion over the barbarous actions of the Ottoman Empire murdering and deporting of its Armenian community has come down to one question. Was the viscous acts of the Ottoman Empire considered Genocide or not? This is the real global issue that has been debated for so long throughout the world. While the vast American-Armenian community truly believes the word Genocide should be openly used to describe the massacre that took place a hundred years ago, the United States has not let the word out of their mouth. Many Armenians wonder why the United States choose not to express the G-Word when they know more than a million Armenians were massacred during the final days of the Ottoman Empire.
Christianity was founded by Jesus Christ approximately 2,000 years ago; Christianity is one of the most influential religions in world history. Christianity developed out of Judaism in the first century C.E. Christianity is the life, teachings, miracles, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, and the followers "Christians." Without Jesus, there is no Christianity The Prophets of God spoke
In order for us to find the foundation of our human nature, we must look beyond into our early years where human nature is dug deep into the roots of our history and involvements. About 97 years ago the horrific Genocide of the Armenians took place. Turkey has shown a classic example of the evil that can result by human beings. Millions of Armenians were slaughtered and murdered in front of their family members. The destruction that constantly plays out throughout the world is cuased by human beings. Hsun Tzu would have also agreed that the young Turks were in face by nature extremely evil.
The Armenian genocide has several main causes: European meddling in Ottoman internal affairs, nationalism, economic jealousy, and Armenian involvement in the Russian war effort. Though, a lot of the causes are interrelated. For example, nationalism and European meddling go hand in hand. What exactly was the Armenian genocide? Well, the Armenian genocide was a state orchestrated machine of mass-murder and rape of the Armenian people, and several other ethnic groups, of the Ottoman Empire 1915-1923. The Armenians were one of many ethnic groups of the Ottoman Empire, and they had lived in eastern Asia Minor for around three thousand years prior to the atrocity .
What is a religion? A religion is defined by Richard Schaefer as a unified system of beliefs and practices that relate to what is believed to be sacred (Schaefer, Richard T, 2009, pg 323). There are many world religions, such as Christianity, Islam, Buddhism, Hindu, and so forth, and while all of these different religions are
Armenians have called the Caucasus region of Eurasia home for over 3,000 years. Armenia was the first country to have Christianity be the official religion of their country. The Kingdom of Armenia was engulfed into the Ottoman Empire, a vastly Islam practicing empire by the 15th century. As a result of Ottoman Rulers historically being Muslim as well as the majority of their subjects, Armenians were
According to the Merriam-Webster dictionary, the definition of religion is as follows: “the belief in a god or in a group of gods, an organized system of beliefs, ceremonies, and rules used to worship a god or a group of gods, or an interest, a belief, or an activity that is very important to a person or group” (Merriam-Webster.) My personal definition of religion is that it is a set of beliefs and practices that generally pertain the worship of one or more than one spiritual beings or representations of a spiritual power. Religion can be personal belief or an organization or group of people who have similar beliefs and values. There are many different types of religions in the world and have been since the
