In Extremely loud Incredibly Close, Jonathan Foer, Oscar is the main character who lost his father to the 9/11 tragedy. Throughout the story, Oscar is grieving over the loss of his father. As Oscar goes through the stages of grief, he suffers from many disorders illnesses. One of the main disorder Oscar suffers is depression. There are many other disorders the asker suffer from but the main this order is depression.
Depression is a mood disorder that causes feelings of sadness. This psychological disorder lowers or elevates someone mood. Depression is also known as a major depressive disorder or clinical depression. It can be caused by physiological, psychological, or environmental influences. Also this depression normally comes from young mothers who is having a baby. Another type of depression is seasonal affective disorder. This depression occurs in the long winter days, alongside the other seasons. Then there is psychotic depression. This type of depression occurs when you have deep depression and psychosis symptoms. Such as having false fixed beliefs and seeing or hearing things that no one else sees or hear. Depression can also come from heart breaks such as losing a loved one, someone that close to you (depression).
