A Hero bypasses twelve stages while attending his Journey. The Hero’s journey begins in the Ordinary World, the Ordinary World's task is to allow the reader to distinguish the Hero. The reader sees the Hero’s journey exactly how the Hero experiences, the challenges, and emotion throughout the journey. The Call to Adventure introduces the very first challenges of the journey. During the Call the Hero might not be ready to accept the journey. In addition, the Refusal of the Call might make the Hero feel insecure like not willing to or able to accept the new world or maybe he is not ready for a change. By Meeting the Mentor the Hero will feel more secure about the new world because this mentor guides the Heros. The Mentor helps the Hero find

Every story includes structural aspects or phases in fantasies, movies and legends. These stages arrange the hero’s special journey, which are the various phases that the hero has to go through to complete his task. In the beginning, the hero always starts off in the Ordinary World. To begin, The Ordinary Word is the hero’s safe haven, this stage allows the readers to get to know the hero’s distinctive characteristics. Though few literary templates have been able to stand the test of time, the Hero’s Journey, or “monomyth”, has the distinction of being present in the literature and mythology of almost every single culture that has possessed written language. The term “monomyth” was coined by Joseph Campbell, an American mythological research, in his book entitled The Hero with a Thousand Faces. Since his groundbreaking analysis and compilation, thousands of writers, directors, and producers have applied the basic elements of the monomyth to their own media. One of the most successful applications of the monomyth to a non-literary medium are the Star Wars films, originally created by George Lucas. The most recent addition to the Star Wars saga was released
Then, the journey as pertaining to the hero goes as follows the ordinary world, call to adventure, refusal of the call, meeting with the mentor, crossin the first threshold, test, allies, enemies, approach to innermost cave, the ordeal, reward, the road back, the resurrection, and return with the elixir. Oddly, all stories, films and events in life have followed this pattern. However, it is a pattern that many do not see clearly at first. Generously, it’s been only 20 years and I am barely scratching the surface, of course the past two years have speed up the progress significantly due to taking Mythology and Mythology in Film. Others are not so lucky to see it as soon. Learning about the Hero's Journey is beneficial since it can be aligned along a person's life and used as a guide
Next, is the ‘Call to Adventure’ and the hero is faced with something that makes him start his adventure. This might be a problem or a challenge he needs to overcome. Following that step is ‘Refusal of the Call‘; when the hero attempts to refuse the adventure because he is afraid. After that is ‘Meeting the Mentor’ which is where the hero encounters someone who can give him
What images come to mind as you reflect on your childhood? Playgrounds, blackboards, and soccer balls may be among the warmest of memories. Yet for many mermaids swim their thoughts, princesses get swept of their feet, and lions roar to their loyal place in the animal kingdom. There is no doubt that today’s entertainment has most of its touch using classical influences. Could you ever imagine sending your child on a field trip knowing that end purpose was for them to die? GOD sent his only son, Jesus Christ, to earth ultimately for this trip. Desire coming from the flesh of a woman, Jesus Christ is GOD's son. Jesus walked the earth to teach us about his father and how he wished for us to live, so that our souls would be clean in order to reach the pearly gates of heaven.
According to the set pattern that is there is almost every fairy tale and story, there are some specific stages of the journey of the hero. The first stage is that of the ordinary world, when the hero is set in contrast with his surroundings and his description is given based on his character. The second stage is that of the call of adventure. During this stage a description of the situation is given which the hero has to face. This situation is normally shaken up by an external pressure which causes the hero to change from a normal person to a hero. The third stage is that of the refusal of the call. During this stage, the hero decides to run away from the situation. During the fourth stage, which is that of meeting the mentor, the hero realizes that it is the right time for him to take
There I was sitting at the table eating what the nuns like to call food what just looked like to me slop I was sitting with my friend Felix. He came across a carrot and it was a full-size carrot he just sat there and stared at it not even touching it if he did not hurry up and I was going to grab it and eat it.
A few months later, I found myself riding with Halt back to his quaint little cottage nestled in the woods. He was teaching me about animal tracks. As our horses tread against the snow that lay on the ground, I noticed a massive print next to the cottage, and Halt said it was a giant boar. A man was lying in the bushes and came out to claim that he had seen the boar first hand, and that it was a mad and destructive one. Halt told him to go to the castle and tell the Baron to gather a group of men so that we can all go hunt the boar in the morning. The next day, I found myself on horseback on the outside of a circle of warriors, and Horace. If the boar were to escape through our circle, I was to chase it down and finish it off with my bow.
Sam was walking home from the Morrisville Market with a full bag of groceries. The sun was hot and no clouds were in sight. He smelled the fresh bread being baked in the shops. He felt like nothing could go wrong, and oh how wrong he was about that. The sidewalk was cracked right in front of Lana’s Diner glowed an odd red light. “What the……AHHHHHH!” When a garbage truck pulled up the garbage man found Sam lying face down on the sidewalk with a \
Zeke and I has been together for a year and a half. Zeke and I met August 28, 1993 I was working at the mall at the time, in a man's clothing store; and he come in with his cousin Junior. Let me tell you a short story about this boy. It was 9 o'clock in the afternoon when his parent asked him what he wanted to be when he grew up, he said with enthusiasm "I want to be a doctor", not knowing what it is. After that we just went about our days. Ten years later, he's a senior in junior high school getting ready to embark on the road where many have failed. He did what he had to do so that he can graduate. Graduation day was here and pretty quickly. His parents said to him, "no more fun and games, you are going to enter high school. All I want from you is to pass your class of high grades , graduate and go on to college to pursue your career to become a doctor." This kid heard a lot of things when it comes to becoming a doctor and
Shortly after the discovery that my beloved wife had gone missing, I began to retrace my steps in search of her. I believe I must have lost her in the process of cycling up the hill; however, I cannot seem to make out which path I had come from.
My heart wasn’t with him and it had been this way since the moment he brought me home to his apartment above the garage the day we were wed. I had at this point given up fighting to free myself and sunk deep into my thoughts. Upon remembering the day we met I could recall almost every detail about him; from the twinkle in his eyes to the gleam of his golden watch. There was a gleam of hope which I saw when I looked at him much unlike the strain and exhaustion I see as he lurks in the grey shadows of the garage. Though I detested this awful place, it was not New York I longed to adventure away from, it was him. Him and his oh-so ordinary ways. I wished to live a life of the extravagant and the bold, a life with Tom, a life that was not
