It at times has been taken advantage of, when the officer's started using this for after work hours and taking home food for their families. These actions were clearly unethical behavior. While establishments are attempting to show respect and generosity to officer's, some may become offended when the offer is not accepted. It would be a "catch 22", due to the fact they are offering this as generosity, and in the event of needing a favor, would not mind calling this to the officer's attention and hold the free items against

It was wrong and unethical for the police officers and the commissioners to fail to take action toward the prostitution that was going on in the area. Citizens’ concerns should always be a priority for the police force. The fact that they didn’t make any effort to help the people and went to the restaurant to wasting time; they all should have got fired. In the second story though, there was not a big of issue; however, I feel like the veteran cop feels like he was entitle for the free meal because he save the restaurant from burglarize which to me was seemed unethical.

Although police officers take an oath to protect and serve citizens in our society. we have some officers that our corrupt and willing do anything just to protect themselves from being exposed from their unethical behavior. Within the criminal justice system, ethics can be complicated by the moral implications of actions. Differences in cultures and different circumstances can affect the individual moral compass. However, all departments of criminal justice operate by a certain code of ethics and by certain standards. But those standards and ethics often become challenged due to issues relating to police brutality, off duty conduct and corruption that we hear about all of the time through the media.

Bribery is a problem for many different reasons, also. Justice cannot be served if the police are willing to be “bought” by the criminals. An investigator is supposed to protect the community and do what he has to in order to make sure that justice is being served. This cannot be done if he is on the criminals’ pay roll. It can lower community moral, believing that if someone has enough money, they can just buy their way out of anything. The community may also lose faith in the justice system all together, believing that whoever harmed them, or whatever be the case, will go free because the police are working both sides of the fence. There is no case if the investigator is letting the guilty go free.

The cases that are mostly seen worldwide with police corruption are due to drugs and drug trafficking. Police officers get involved with the “easy money” and believe the theory of “I will not get caught”; it is miserable and emotional to see the United States law enforcement get caught up in these cases. “In 2012, two corrupt cops joined forces with drug dealers and are now facing jail time; they put dozens of criminal cases in jeopardy. Officers Diaz and Patrick Mara admitted to ripping off drug dealers of their methamphetamine during traffic stops. This was the beginning to police corruption in Kern County.”(Richard Winton) The two police officers were corrupt since a while back. “They both pleaded guilty to their charge and got punished for it. Officer Diaz would not fully report the drugs they would find and instead would keep more than half. In this situation, I understand that this is my partner and we’re supposed to have each other’s back but we’re also supposed to hold each other accountable.
