Exposure to infection
Infection-The invasion and multiplication of microorganisms such as bacteria, viruses, and parasites that are not normally present within the body.
An infection may cause no symptoms and be subclinical, or it may cause symptoms and be clinically apparent. An infection may remain localized, or it may spread through the blood or lymphatic vessels to become systemic (bodywide). Microorganisms that live naturally in the body are not considered infections. For example, bacteria that normally live within the mouth and intestine are not infections.

Your priority is the safety of yourself and the safety of the other residents. In settings where aggressive behaviour occures frequently, staff are trained in restraint techniques, which allows them to control the person without hurting them. You may witness this, if you see this you are not be expected to participate.
Some signs that a person behaviour may become aggressive are, the person becoming tense and agitated, raise his/her voice to a high pitch and speak loudly, reply to questions abruptly, show signs of muscular tension in the face and limbs and his/her pupils may become dilated, close his/her hands in fists, bang his/her fist into his/her palm on the desk, resist eye contact, and invade your personal space by leaning forward. You should: • Collect the things you need for evacuation and if safe to do so turn off the gas, electricity and water supplies. • Stay in a high place with a means of escape if it becomes nescary to do so, avoid electricity sources such as plug socets and avoid walking or driving through flood water
Evacuation of a residential care setting
Residents will be taken to an evacuation centre run by the local council. Staff should take spare clothes but essentionals such as food, drink and bedding will be provided, essential things such as medication and care items such as feeder beakers and baby bottles should also be taken if possible.
Your priority in a flood situation is to keep yourself safe, but if it is possible for you to help evacute others thats have been effected by the flood safley then you should do so. The flood water may lead to the area being contaminated with sewage, so care must be taken to avoid swallowing water and careful hand washing will be needed before eating.
