Nursing can be stressful, demanding, and difficult and is a very competitive and tough field to get into. Daily, Nurses handle patient’s who are sick, hurting, and helpless so they have to have patience, respect, and be understanding towards their patients and their family members. Nurses have to deal with multiple responsibilities at once so multi-tasking is a major key in Nursing. While talking with other doctors, nurses also have to be able to fill out charts, change patient's medications based on their condition, and check their vitals (Registered Nurse Responsibilities, Duties and Job Prospects). Nurses aren’t always working in Hospitals. Other areas include doctors offices, physician offices, pediatric care, nursing homes, travel nursing, military nursing, and home healthcare (Registered Nursing Career Paths). To become a Nurse, you have to go to school and earn your Associate’s Degree in Nursing (ADN) or you could go to get your Bachelor’s in Nursing (BSN). The first document, which is one of the charts a nurse would have to fill out on the daily is a Head to Toe assessment. The chart includes information such as the patient’s vitals (heart rate, blood pressure, pulse rate, and respiration), IV medications, pain, general appearance, skin color, neuro, and social and psychological standings. This information is extremely important because mistakes in charting could lead to mistakes in patient care.
