As a child, I remember excitedly reciting the names of human body parts and voraciously reading books about the medical world. My favorite activity I can recall revolved around me using my play pretend doctor’s kit to give my younger brother “checkups” to diagnose and treat the imaginary ailments he came to me with. This activity captivated me as it allowed me to mimic my parents’ former occupations and feel more empowered as I could take charge and make the “crucial decisions” which would “save my patient’s life.” My parents recognized my interest in the medical field and helped to further deepen my passion in the field of medicine. Becoming a nurse practitioner interests me the most currently as this job will enable me to take charge and help a patient if the doctor is not currently available. Additionally, the ability to travel abroad interests me as this will allow me to reach and help more people get well soon. Finally, being able to take charge and determine the best treatment plan for a patient motivates me in my pursuit in becoming a nurse practitioner. At the same time, the idea of becoming a physician assistant captivated me after I became ill and had to go to the Emergency Room for a short time. For this informational I wanted to interview a nursing professional because I am interested to major in nursing. I tired to contract nurses in Hospitals and clinics but ended up at the student health services at valley. I conducted my Interview With Ms. Helen and he is a nurse practitioner. During my four years as an RN I’ve had the chance to care for many interesting and wonderful people, many of them during the worst days of their lives. Many of the people you meet are sad, angry, anxious and very scared.

In 2003 during the last semester of nursing school, my life was devastated as my ex-husband was arrested as a serial rapist. This was overbearing and I thought this as being impossible to recover from.
