I feel that I would be a very positive contribution to the Antlers Chapter of the NHS. If I were to be elected as an officer, I would do my best to lead the NHS chapter in a direction that would improve the group as a whole. I feel that I would be beneficial to the chapter, because I know what it takes to be a leader. To be a leader, you need three important qualities. Three qualities you need to portray are confidence, persistence, and responsibility. I’ve been in several leadership positions that acquired these qualities, and the NHS needs officers with these three qualities for many reasons. To begin, an officer needs confidence. I’ve had to obtain confidence in my leadership position as a section leader in band. I’ve been section leader
In this organization I can contribute by showing my full potential I’m a very hardworking and determined person, I will help by being focused and assertive with everything I do. I have learned a lot from being the co-captain of the jv cheerleading team last winter and also being the captain for the jv cheerleading team this season, I have learned that communication is the key to all success and that if you don’t communicate things will become more difficult for you and your peers around you. Another thing I’ve learned is to adapt to change quickly and that any change that you or others make can be for tthe greater good of you and them, during last season of me being co-captain i learned to persevere through anything that i find hard and I
I believe that I do merit selection for NHS. One of the main reasons that I believe that I should be selected for the National Honor Society is my work outside of school hours. Outside of school I keep score for basketball and am very heavily involved at my church The House Mountain Grove. Other things that I do outside of school include various community projects including the Cabool “Seniors Rock” 5k run three years ago. At school events I represent Mansfield proudly, I have been first chair tuba in Summit Conference for a consecutive three years, and I made district band my freshman year. Other than the band I have also represented Mansfield for FBLA on a district, and state level both of my years of high school. My other form of representing
NHS is an organization made up of students who regularly demonstrate the four pillars of NHS: Character, Leadership, Scholarship, and Service. Saydel’s chapter of NHS should model outstanding service and leadership within our school and community. Doing so will create a positive environment amongst our community members and students. Utilizing my strong leadership abilities, I believe I can help our chapter of NHS flourish. My strength in organization, self-determination, and ability to engage others will make me a great asset to our NHS
It is an honor to be considered for NHS. To me NHS is a place where gifted individuals can continue to grow as people and polish their talents. As a past NJHS member, I would like to find myself in NHS.
If you were to elect me to be a National Honor Society officer, I would accept the responsibility with much humility and gratitude. As an officer, I will ensure that every student involved in the organization has the best experience possible. I will also provide great leadership skills, teamwork abilities, and an overall prestigious character to the role of an officer. Not only do I take pride in our school and NHS, I also take pride in being a leader and role model to my peers. Conclusively, granted that I posses the experience and knowledge that is necessary to uphold such a position, I would make an exceptional officer for the National Honor
This reflective essay is based on the personal SWOT (Strength, Weakness, Opportunity and Threats) analysis, to examine my leadership potential. It will define leadership within context of the NHS leadership as well as highlight some of the current incidents relate to poor leadership. Additionally, it will briefly discuss some of the relevant leadership theories that can be applied to nursing practice whilst exploring my own leadership style. Lastly, this essay will reflect the scenario from practice to support my “strengths” and “weakness” whilst developing a SMART (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic and Time-Bound) goal plan to address one of my weakness and then the conclusion will be drawn summarising the key points within the essay.
brought about major change in how hospital and GP services were managed. The NHS nationalised health services but local councils still ran a variety of clinics and services for children. Soon after prescription charges were introduced. The NHS helped to organise hospital services so that areas that were lacking could be identified.
“We are all born originals - why is it so many of us die copies?” This quote by Edward Young is an anecdote I often ponder. More and more, I find myself trying to form to society ideals, and notice my unique personality being shoved under the rug, but each time I think about this phrase, I become my true self a little more. The National Honor Society is a program for not only exceptional students, but also extraordinary people. I, Zoë, am a unique individual and my inimitable assets are a perfect for this club full of opportunities to put these skills to use. I should be indicted into NHS because I have met all the requirements and possess qualities of characteristics which separate me from ordinary students.
Many would assume that this makes me an invaluable and good leader, but I would like to disagree. I have been a nurse for seven years, still an inexperienced nurse in my eyes and still absorbing information day to day. The nurses have relayed that I have made many positive changes to the culture, work environment, and standards of the department in my short years, i.e., working shift for a fellow nurse who needs time off for the deployment of her son, fighting for wage increases when warranted, encouraging increased education and certifications through brain injury alliances and rehabilitative nursing alliance.
I am auditioning to be an officer because I believe I can make Company a great experience for everyone on it and be a strong leader and representative of Cottonwood Dance. I think that having a strong leader is fundamental to the success of a group. My physics teacher, Ms. Richey, is someone I look up to as a leader; she makes class fun and engages us while still clearly getting the information across. She is also very confident in her abilities and will straight up shut you down (kindly) if you are trying to make up a physics scenario that is not possible. She is so intelligent yet fun that I aspire to be like her when I have to be a leader. I believe I am qualified to be an officer this year because I have had a couple of different
Personal statement: What leadership and service qualities do you have which you feel would make you an excellent addition to the University Marshals? How do you serve as a leader?
Having been promoted to Lance corporal, I had the opportunity to teach others lesson on first aid and medical practice in the field. Leading my team and taking responsibility for them involved having to be aware of their strengths and weakness in order to utilise them to accomplish more together. These skills would give me a head start into the field as it requires the ability to analyse and deal with complex situations and excellent communication skills which I have all experienced and gradually
Health is increasingly becoming a key consideration for sustainability as it becomes more integrated into the concept. A sustainable lifestyle can enhance your physical and mental well-being through a range of different activities. The NHS supports this link between sustainability and health, which is why they hold an annual NHS Sustainability Day of Action, to engage staff, patients and the public on sustainable living. This day of action was supported in our region by The Norfolk and Norwich University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
Lifestyle choices such as smoking, drinking alcohol, poor diet and lack of physical exercise have many diseases associated with them. In 2006-07, patients with these diseases cost the NHS a combined total of £18.4bn (Scarborough et al. 2011). If the NHS limited treatment to these groups of people, it would be able to invest this money into other areas of need. This could lead to improved facilities for people who become ill through no fault of their own.
The NHS have 6 core nursing values, launched by England’s chief nursing officer, Jane Cummings, after the Mid-Staffordshire disaster. These 6C’s were put into place to reinforce holistic nursing (Delves-Yates, C. 2015), ensure that everybody within the National Health Service is doing everything possible to ensure the best possible service for the patients, and to ensure that patients were put at the heart of everything healthcare professionals do (Watterson, L. 2013). The 6 C’s include care, compassion, competence, commitment, courage and communication. All six of the 6C’S are all fundamental values when it comes to healthcare, however out of these six, the three that I have chosen to write about are communication, compassion and courage. I have chosen these three as I believe that they are the most imperative when it comes to delivering high-quality care for the patients or service users.
