Getting to the Statue of Liberty you would have to take a ferry that takes you across New York Harbor, where you can see the view of New York City and New Jersey. I 'd also like to visit Roosevelt Island. Technically Roosevelt Island is part of Manhattan. It was an abandoned island under the shadow of the erector set Queensborough Bridge in the East River of New York. It was once Blackwell 's Island, then Welfare Island. It has also been the home to terrifying asylums and prisons and after a hospital called Renwick Smallpox Hospital in the 1850 's. This seems a bit eerie, but a lot has changed. According to people who have told me about Roosevelt Island, it has a beautiful view of the Manhattan Upper East Side and has a nice riverside walk which is never overcrowded. There are so many things to do here. There is now a park called Southpoint Park that opened to the public in the summer of 2011. There is a lighthouse you can visit. You can grab a bite at the Riverwalk Bar and Grill. There are art and sculptures you can visit. Another place I would like to visit some day is the Empire State Building. The Empire State Building is an iconic office tower with exhibits and observatories on the 86th and 102nd floor.
