Video gaming is the popular form of entertainment. Video gamers spend about 3billion hours per week on these screens. Their popularity has brought the scientist to conduct research on the effects of the video games on the brain and its behavior. A study shows that more than 150 million people in the United States play video games regularly, or for at least 3 hours per week. In this case, at least 65% of the American household has one person who plays video games constantly. The average e gamers are 35years old with about 70% of them being 18 years and above.
The video games sales continue to rise with about 24.5million games being sold in 2016 up from 21.4 million in 2014. Among children, video games have been considered to have a bad influence particularly its effects after being exposed to the violent behavior. According to Entertainment Software Associations, 71 percent of parents believe that video games play a positive role in their child's life. 67% of them play video games with their child at least once a week.
