I have seen dozens of shows, but NBC has made many of my favorites, the 2 hour block of The Office, 30 Rock, Community, and Parks and Rec was pure gold, not to even mention Superstore or any of the amazing dramas. NBC is my most watched network, so when I found your listing for NBC Entertainment - West Coast Spring 2018 Internship(Job# 36089BR), I realized my skills of casting, communication, and development would let me excel at this position and company. I have auditioned and cast nearly 40 roles between three short animated videos, one live action short film and a 10 minute play. Similar to casting for your production’s, I had to weigh various traits, such as appearance, voice, chemistry, comedic timing, and more in my decision of who to
I was particularly struck by the acting of Gracie Sartin. Her fearless approach to so many elements of the play – whether it was being hit on the head with an ironing board, hitting another costar with the ironing board, or giving one of her characters (Villian) an accent - was incredibly interesting to watch. Despite the fact that she portrayed six different people, she embodied them so well that I did not see Gracie in them. I saw only the characters she was portraying. The other actors were also successful in that ability. I think that achievement, combined with the success of the way the time constraints were embraced, added greatly to the success of the play.
In addition to studying general Business Marketing, I am specifically interested in the business of the entertainment industry, heavily focusing on the marketing and creative aspects of it. Ultimately, I am working towards a successful career in all areas of the entertainment industry and this internship can definitely sharpen my skills into becoming that well-versed and well-rounded player in the industry. In addition to being an A and B student, I also explore my craft and major concentration via extracurricular activities and beyond. Currently, I create and
You need to just find if there is a right opportunity for you in this casting call.
I will still be able to take classes that are necessary for me to graduate, while getting the real-world experience that I need in order to thrive professionally. Usually when people think of production it seems very glamorous, but through the little experiences I’ve had over the past year, I’ve learned that it can be the complete opposite. The production industry, whether television or film, can be very spontaneous, unpredictable and demanding, and I don’t believe I’ve even seen the real deal yet. This is why I need an internship that will make me a better producer and also educate me of how to be ready for any obstacle that comes my way. Living in Hollywood, “the place where dreams come true,” will open many more doors for me and give me a different perspective of production. This is exactly what I need in order to get to the next
Kathleen McCaffrey presented an insightful and detailed look into working in television from entry-level to executive positions. Like many other industry executives, McCaffrey emphasized agency experience, but she discussed working at an agency from a much more positive viewpoint. Particularly, I liked what she had to say about having a “30,000 foot view of Hollywood” while working at UTA. When McCaffrey said her job is business-oriented but also involves storytelling, I felt confident in my decision to enroll in the Business/Cinematic Arts program and to hopefully pursue a career in television programming. I understood her regrets about her college experience and her desire to have studied English or history because knowledge of history and literature is valuable when reading or developing scripts. Overall, McCaffrey was one of my favorite speakers thus far because she offered multiple perspectives from her various
Scott adjusted the VISION Procedure and Fee Code List with Cost report so it should now meet NBC physical inventory report needs. Please review this report and send us feedback on it. If the report adequately meets NBC physical inventory needs, I’ll close KACE tickets: 2370, 1342, and 1971.
Each year we produce three major productions: a Play, Musical and Festival of One Acts Play. Students are selected through an audition process for performing and an interview process for directing or being part of the production crew.
Most recently, after gaining one of 18 placements from 862 applications, I exceeded expectations in the Channel 4 iOS department test team firstly by learning new skills quickly then completing my work ahead of schedule due to high self-motivation and effective time-management. Secondly, despite the relatively stable nature of the codebase prior to the upcoming release, I was able to find bugs and ways to bypass the software that my line manager had not come across before. In conclusion, a deeper understanding of digital as your intern would transform my life by giving me invaluable insight into a high growth business and enough influence to take ownership for my contributions in the workplace. Through this position, I know I can add value to
Being a good actor is important in this circumstance in my opinion because, being talented at the one thing that is involved with a ‘play’ it beneficial, the play builder is able to place themselves in the shoes of the actor and will be able to see the positives and the strengths of each of the actors and be able to suit the character to mould their positives, Being a good actor in this case will also
That week, Tom Carson, also Director, was holding auditions and expected to have all parts cast very soon. “Thought this play is only two-hours, we will conduct rehearsals 2 to 3 times a week”, Tom said, “and will continue until show time”. This production will require approximately 30 members, While only 11 will be on stage, 10 actors and a narrator, other artistry positions include set production, costumes, make-up, hair, lighting, audio, ticket taker, sellers and of course director. Many jobs are required to product a quality production.
The actors knew their lines very well and their acting and movements were at a fine pace. The best actor in my opinion was Jeffrey Bean (foreigner), because he had to pretend not to speak English, make weird noises to have his own language, and act differently from the American culture. I believe casting his character would most likely be difficult because at every moment he should know how to move and when to express his acting to the audience and keep them entertained. However, Jay Sullivan (the Reverend) his circle of attention sometimes would shift from his partner to the audience and for a second his facial expression would become shy. Overall, most of the actors expressed their characters through humorous ways and the audience would laugh every ten seconds, which is a good sign that the play was
Although Jeremiah obeys God to be his messenger, he still complains while doing his mission. Philip Stern thinks that “just as the prophet’s call took him by surprise, Jeremiah was not always prepared for the personal consequences of speaking the word of the Lord, even though Jeremiah’s message went against the grain of Jerusalem’s political and religious establishment.” At the beginning of his prophetic ministry, Jeremiah was complaining of the bad effect of the spring and summer harvest which could not save the Israelite people (Jer 8:20). Jer 8: 20 – 9: 6 use some words which show in man in despair for the painful situation of his people. He cries: “Is Yahweh not in Zion?” (Jer 8: 19). However, God’s response was: “why have they provoked me to anger with their images, with their foreign idols” (Jer 8: 19). He immediately recognizes that this dreadful situation is the consequence of “their desertion to their God.” Commentating Jer 9: 1-3, Habel states that: “two courses of action seem desirable to Jeremiah. Either he can attempt to change God’s heart by a flood of sympathetic tears, or he can try to
This production seemed to go smoothly. My talent worked well in my production and took her cues. She understood what had to be done and was incredibly professional. Also, she would constantly try to improve her performance by asking questions. In addition, the weather was also mostly on my side. Each day that I went out the weather was exactly what I wanted. It was overcast on the days that I needed it to be overcast; and it was sunny on days that I needed it to be sunny.
After a speech was given on Castro’s behalf, he declared women should enter the production work force in order to benefit themselves and society (Gomperts, 49). This Marxist doctrine is still currently in effect. Heidi Hartmann in “The Unhappy Marriage of Marxism and Feminism: Towards a More Progressive Union” explores the source of women’s oppression in society; she states “[c]apital and private property, the early marxists argued, are the cause of women’s particular oppression just as capital is the cause of the exploitation of workers in general” (5). Studying Cuba before 1959, because of the vast number of unemployed males that was carried over from the Batista rule, Castro’s main goal during the beginning of the Revolution was to increase the employment for males in the work force; shortly after the number increased, he began to ask for female involvement (Gomperts, 50).
In the 1950s, advertising first arose to promote many things such as refrigerators, automobiles, and appliances that were plentiful after World War II (adage). Many advertisers during this time incorporated family values; as old traditional ways, such as a Father being the provider of the family and the mother being the home-worker became a new (adage). This directly led to advertisers promoting men in many advertisements, as their “alpha” role appealed to consumer interests. This generation of advertisement was known to objectify women and view them as being socially lower than men (Prezi). In the advertisement for Van Huesen’s ties for men, “Show her it’s a man world”, women are marginalized through imagery and language to appeal to the masculinity of men , giving them a sense of power and superiority over women Amplifying the stereotypical and sexist principles of societal views during this time period.
