I think I should be in the Junior Honor Society. I have met the requirements to receive this opportunity. I would not let this opportunity to waste. I care for the community and do what ever service to help it out. I help do services for the library when they need it. For example on March 10,2017, I helped make capes for sick kids and then gave them happy birthday cards for the birthday kids. I help out my community by helping people shovel their driveway. Like some of my neighbors can't do it so I ask if I can do it for them for free. I look out for people to make sure they are ok. Ever since my elementary years, I have taken my education and the work I do seriously. My dedication to the qualities of scholarship, character, leadership, and service have helped me during my high school experience as high school was a eye-opener for a young girl with big dreams. Thank you for giving me a chance to join the National Honor Society (NHS) to further my current and future learning endeavors. Being nominated due to having a high grade point average opened my mind further into how important it is to follow through with learning through and beyond the school and the benefits those grades can get me, such as joining the NHS. While I am aware that school is about far more than learning for grades alone, I am overjoyed with this chance.

A good leader inspires people to better themselves. I feel I am a good candidate for the National Honor Society because I have leadership experiences in refereeing youth soccer games, volunteering in the Big Brothers Big Sisters program, and taking Links, which is a class that helps students with autism in their classes. While referring children's soccer games I had to pick and choose the calls that I had to make so the kids could learn the game but also have fun playing the game. Even though some kids didn't like it, I had to be a sense of authority to them to make sure none of them got hurt when playing soccer. When I go to visit my little brother, for the Big Brothers Big Sisters program, I help him with his homework, and also make it fun

The National Honor Society is not only a privilege to be a part of, but is an outstanding achievement for the person. To be a member of the National Honor Society, I believe I must have characteristics such as: being a role model and having leadership, superb academic standings, and an overall character that will encourage others. I want to be a member of the National Honor Society because I feel like I qualify for the characteristics I have listed above. As for being a role model and having leadership, I have never been in any kind of trouble, and I am always open to help anyone who needs it, including schoolwork or personal matters. Recognition with the invitation to National Honors Society is an incredible opportunity to come across in the four years of high school. It would be an honor to become a member of National Honors Society to attain leadership qualities throughout my high school career. When I moved to Peachtree City in the 9th grade, I have stacked leadership skills and activities to help others in need that qualify to become a candidate for National Honors Society through campus involvement and community involvement. Interactions with the Mcintosh faculty and students give a chance to build leadership skills by creating friendship. Being eligible to become a member of the National Honor Society is a great honor. Becoming a member will open opportunities for me to grow as a person and help me reach my future career goals. I believe that I will be able to contribute to our NHS program in the additional three pillars of service, leadership, and character.

One of my goals that I set for high school as a freshman was to be inducted into the National Honor Society, now I have the chance to hopefully fulfill this by getting accepted. I believe that through my high school career so far I have exhibited character most accurately according to NHS standards. I am a student who takes pride in being conscientious of my decisions, whether it be to finish homework when I would much rather watch television or to refrain from activities that have a greater chance of negative consequences than positive ones. The nomination of being a member of the National Honor Society is an honor in itself. All my late nights of homework, copious amounts of studying, and extracurricular activities have brought to me the place I am today. Throughout my three years of school here at the one and only Brainerd High School, I have obtained excellent grades even in challenging classes. I believe that if you don’t challenge yourself with difficult classes now, you will never develop a strong sense of work ethic: something I have a large amount of. My parents always told me growing up that things won’t come free to you in life, and life doesn’t owe you a thing. Those two things have given me the motivation to succeed in rigorous courses, even when at times I want to give up.

I believe I should be considered for this honor because the actions I have taken from the moment I stepped on this campus encompass the pillars of The Maroon and Gold Society. For instance, my current position within student government tasks me with helping the members of the organization to develop and harness their leadership abilities, as well as finding their place in the Loyola community. I do what I do at Loyola because I truly love this university. I became a Resident Assistant because I wanted to share and create the love and community that I experienced my freshman year. There is nothing more rewarding than seeing someone find their home within Loyola.

As for leadership positions I have held I believe among student body president, being a representative of my youth group to the church, and being a high school soccer captain has taught me the most. Last year as a co captain for our team I helped lead us to the state finals. This had been a dream we had been working on for two years now. I help construct training sessions during the summer in hope of preparing us for that big day. Unfortunately we lost the final, but all was not lost.

I am the kind of person who is always encouraging people to do their best in everything. My favorite extracurricular activity is rock climbing, which is a very technical sport that takes a lot of practice to master many of the more difficult moves. When I see kids struggling at a climb I will go over to them and help them figure it out and sometimes share some helpful ideas that can be applied to many climbs. A few more ways in which I exhibit leadership are the fact that I am a very resourceful person and the fact that I am a good problem solver. My friend and I started our own lawn mowing business over the summer and got 8 frequent costumers.
