A National Honors Society member is someone who “has demonstrated excellence in scholarship, service, leadership, and character.” I am deeply involved in my academics and plan to take five AP classes. I also volunteer at three different volunteer sites, and have been volunteering at Clothes To Kids Denver for five years now. In addition, I have been the captain of eight of the nine sports teams I have been a part of since sixth grade. Finally, I have been voted onto Student Association by my peers for three years now as the Historian. I believe involvement in and out of school is crucial, and that a strong student must have leadership, perseverance, and focus. First, an important quality to have is to be a leader. Ever since I was younger, leadership has been an important part of my life. From sixth through eighth grade I was team captain of my volleyball teams and lacrosse team, and I won the coaches award all three years for showing responsibility and leadership. Once I got to high school, leadership continued throughout my teams. Both freshmen and sophomore year I was captain of my school volleyball team and my club team, and won the coaches award on my school team. I also use my leadership in my daily life as a high schooler and have been voted onto Student Association as Historian for the past three years. Leadership is a …show more content…
In the past few years I have faced many challenges. The major challenge I faced in the year 2017 was the passing of my Father. He passed in a very stressful and busy part in my life, and it was very hard to focus on my school work, volleyball team, and job. As difficult as that situation was I have learned to persevere through the hardest of times. I now can push through any situation and face any challenge that comes my way, whether that be academic or in life. An important quality for someone to have as a part of the National Honors Society is to be able to push through any
Simply being invited to become a member of the National Honor Society is a privilege. It’s not necessarily surprising to me that I was invited but rather gives me an exhilarating feeling. A part of me now knows that my sedulous efforts have finally paid off. Throughout my high school career so far I’ve exhibited the four pillars, which are scholarship, leadership, character, and service. This organization administers a plethora of opportunities that has an impact on the students and the lives of others especially. To be accepted into the National Honor Society would motivate me to contribute even more to not only our school but also the community.
I was part of the Air Cadets, a program to help the youth with leadership and teamwork skills, I showed my leadership skills by raising money for my squadron. Air Cadets allowed me to take part in my own community. I am active in many sports such as; golf, tennis, table tennis, soccer. I also enjoy playing chess with my brother and father and I enjoy skiing and skating during the winter time. At school, I try to enjoy it instead of seeing it as a stressful job, I make sure that even if I have stress, I can deal with it calmly and effectively. I easily understand concepts and learn new things quickly which will benefit me if I miss a month of school for this program. I usually do my assignments beforehand so that I have time to add any final touches and have it edited by my peers and teachers. I show my leadership in many different ways. I take the initiative of helping teachers, my fellow students and my parents. I help
In addition to character, I have also had many chances to show my skills in leadership. As a freshman I was a representative for the class congress and was able to participate in
I believe in hard work, perseverance, and leadership. If one works hard at something one can achieve anything that they put their mind to. How hard one work shows a lot about their character, especially when no one is watching. I believe that getting involved in extracurricular activities helps me get more involved as a leader among my peers
I wish to be apart of the National Junior Honors Society because I have always been a determined and hardworking person and being accepted would continue my journey of greatness. In all the activities I have participated in, I don’t ever do it for acknowledgement or respect from others. I do it for my enjoyment and success.
Being chosen by my teachers and other leaders to be a candidate for membership in the National Honor Society is a great honor for me. It means I have achieved my goal of demonstrating my determination and willingness to help people and serve the community. I believe I will be a good member because I am hardworking, reliable, and trustworthy. Community Service to me means I am doing my part to help the people and animals in need. Like walking the dogs at the Humane Society, bringing therapy animals to the Assisted Living, and helping with saxophone lessons.
The National Honor Society is a prestigious organization that I, as a student, am striving for acceptance. At the end of seventh grade, I was accepted into the National Junior Honor Society and ever since then I have had my eyes set on the next level of education. I have had outstanding grades throughout my academic career, which has taught me leadership and how to show my service to the community, all while building my character into the person I am today. Ever since I was little, my sister has held me to high academic standards to see if I would be able to achieve higher scores and obtain more awards than she did when she was in high school. One of her highest student accomplishments was being accepted into the National Honor Society.
Being chosen to be a candidate for a membership for the National Honor Society is such an honor to me. It shows that I have worked hard in all aspects of my life to show leadership, success, excellence and service, despite the many challenges I have faced along the way. It also proves to myself that I have worked hard to maintain my grades in ninth, tenth, and some of eleventh grade while maintaining a part time job, and volunteering at a barn in my hometown.
There is the question at hand as to what qualities I possess that could better National Honor Society. National Honor Society My acceptance into the National Honor Society is one that I am exceptionally proud of. I was inducted into the society in 11th grade and will continue to be a member throughout my senior year. Those inducted meet the standards of the four pillars which are scholarship, leadership, service, and character. I have worked extremely hard in my studies throughout my four years of high school and feel that it is right to be recognized. It is nice to be surrounded by like-minded individuals and those who are determined to achieve greatness.
Reaching my goal in becoming a member of the National Honor Society would give me a great sense of pride both academically and personally. As a person I have ambition, academic excellence, and great decision making skills to offer NHS. I have been striving to do my academic best for a chance to be in the NHS, I show this with my 3.5 GPA. The National Honor Society is based off four pillars: Scholarship, Leadership, Service and Character.
I’ve been wanting to join this prestigious organization since I first heard of it back when I was in middle school. What I’ve heard about the National Honors Society is that if you’re chosen, you have the opportunity to apply for more scholarships than others. Like any other ambitious student,
The values which the National Honor Society exudes and its members must stand for are leadership, scholarship, service and character. For these reasons, I know that I would be a valuable member of the National Honor Society, due to my scholastic expertise, my ability to both persevere against and to entertain, ideas which conflict with my own and my skill at entering and excelling in leadership positions.
I think I should be considered for a membership for the National Junior Honor Society or NJHS because I am a different individual with a dream. My dream is to fulfill my parents dream and make them proud. My parents have done so much for me and they deserve to be repaid. My parents want me to go to a good college and graduate
