I am honored to have been selected as a candidate for the National Honor Society at Forest Hills Northern High School. I understand that selection is a true honor, an opportunity, that is not granted to everyone. Membership is earned through true character, outstanding academics, community service, and exemplary leadership. Throughout my high school career, I have strived to integrate similar aspects of good citizenship into my daily life, which is a true testament to my character and my aspirations of membership in the National Honor Society. I have wanted to be a member of the national honor society ever since I saw my brother received his diploma wearing a blue stole. At the time, all I knew was that my brother volunteered once in awhile, …show more content…
I believe that service should be selfless, it should be done for others and not for yourself. Nothing should be expected in return. Service is giving, not receiving. Each summer, my church hosts an event called “High School Service Week”. You are sorted into numerous groups. Everyday you are loaded into minivans and large SUVs, each fitted with a cooler with lunch and a container filled with cold water. The groups have pre-assigned workistes. The groups are spread throughout the city, working in food banks, schools, summer programs, and other organizations and facilities in need. The two times I attended, I was a member of the music group. Over the week, my group would visit nursing homes in the area. We would use our musical talent to bring joy to the elderly. Most of the residents had little contact with the outside world. The condition of each resident varied from fully functioning, to immobile and unresponsive. After each performance, the group would go out into the audience and would interact with the residents. Our work was definitely not the most laborious, but it was the most meaningful. We directly affected the lives of people who needed to be touched, people who needed to feel special, people who needed our
I may not be the best candidate for the next member of the National Junior Honor Society, but I certainly believe I could be a great addition! Overall, I am a great learner, leader and student. I have not had any major discipline problems since kindergarten! I have always had top grades and have been top of my class at some point or another. I have good grades that I always maintain and standards that I never lower. My character is not the best but it certainly isn’t the worst. I try to help out in my school or community when possible but regrettably I have not given much of my time to my school or community. At the end of the day, I am a good student, friend, son and brother.
Simply being invited to become a member of the National Honor Society is a privilege. It’s not necessarily surprising to me that I was invited but rather gives me an exhilarating feeling. A part of me now knows that my sedulous efforts have finally paid off. Throughout my high school career so far I’ve exhibited the four pillars, which are scholarship, leadership, character, and service. This organization administers a plethora of opportunities that has an impact on the students and the lives of others especially. To be accepted into the National Honor Society would motivate me to contribute even more to not only our school but also the community.

I am very happy and honored to be a part of the students who are being considered for the National Honor Society. Since the beginning of my freshman year, I have been attempting to fulfill the requirements in order to join because I believe that this organization does great things for society, and that its role in our society today corresponds well with my personality and beliefs. Through the National Honor Society, I believe I can make the most of my efforts to help others by developing the skills I already have and also explore new ones so that I can help better our society. In my academic career, I believe I have shown great levels of academic achievement, leadership, character and service that would qualify to join.
On behalf of Beaufort Middle School, myself, Dr. Tomon and The Faculty Council we congratulate you and your student on being selected for membership to the Beaufort Middle School Chapter of the National Junior Honor Society. The NJHS is a program that celebrates the success of many of our hardest working students, based upon academic achievement as well as the demonstration of outstanding character, service, leadership, and citizenship. These criteria for selection form the foundation upon which the organization and its activities are built. Members of NJHS take pride in their accomplishments and work diligently toward the goal of attaining a superior education and contributing to their school and community. They do their best to provide positive role models for their peers.
If I were to be accepted into the National Junior Honor Society, which is one of the highest honors that can be awarded, I would consider myself to be a very lucky person. Throughout my life, I've always considered myself as someone with good character and values.I've always prided myself in always doing the right thing and helping others. In addition, I view myself as a leader, not a follower. Being a leader comes naturally to me. I'm a leader amongst my friends and siblings. They always look up to me when they have a problem or when they need advice. I have a good standard education with an A average which will help me achieve my goals in the future.
I would like to become a member of the National Junior Honor Society (NJHS), because it is a great honor to be recognized by the teaching staff of the Andrews Middle School. I feel that I exemplify the five pillars of the NJHS and show leadership amongst my peers. I am glad that my hard work has been noticed. In addition, I am proud to be placed amid a group of students my own age, who are all working towards the same goals. Being a member in the NJHS will also look impressive on my future job applications.
I was usually too busy at school practicing in sports and completing my club duties until late in the weekday evenings and weekends to join them in their volunteering. I ended having some free time one weekend so I tagged along with my brothers when they went to the shelter. As I walked in and looked around at the familiar surroundings, I saw families huddled here and there chatting quietly, people sleeping on mats with only thin blankets and backpacks for pillows, some were lining up and waiting for diner to be served, children playing or being comforted by their mothers. As I took everything in, I knew and understood what these people and families were going through and how it felt because during the summer before my freshman year, my family and I were in the same boat. We had no home anymore
I am extremely honored to be one of the students considered for the National Honor Society. This club has been something that I’ve been looking forward to since the beginning of freshman year, and now that I’m finally eligible I couldn’t be more excited to take part in what this club has to offer. I have grown enormously as a person and as a student since I was a freshman, and I believe that the scholarship, leadership, and character I exhibit will allow me to benefit National Honor Society and benefit myself.
The National Honors Society allows students to be build and create traits that are essential in a successful adult. I truly believe that hold many of these traits and joining the National Honor Society will grant me the opportunity to expand on these traits and grow as a person. Thus far I have focus greatly on the scholarship aspect of NHS and have been dedicated to my academics. I have held my GPA above 4.0 and have always been devoted to maintaining that high level of academic success. The skills I have shown in devoting myself to my academics can be easily translated into my dedication for the other aspects of leadership, service and character. Having previously held a officer role in the National Junior Honor Society I have gained experience
To be a member of the National Honor Society is a great award and achievement and it means you have worked hard and achieved in school as well as volunteered and been involved in both the school and outside community. However, once you are a member it doesn't mean you can halt all your work and coast through the rest of your high school years. You must continue to work at good grades and more importantly you need to keep working on ways to benefit our school and outside community. You need to be generous with your time and ingenious with your ideas in order to create a lasting impact. If accepted into the national honors society, I plan on contributing to that lasting impact with my previous experiences with volunteering and leading others, as well as my dedication to the society and the moral code it upholds.
I am deeply honored to be among the exemplary students who are being considered for the National Honor Society. I must admit that this is something that I have been looking forward to since the beginning of my high school career. I believe that this organization does great things in society and that I can play a part in furthering the impression that is made. I like to think that I deserve this honor and this chance because I have worked very hard to get here.
It is unbelievable that this year is my last year in Charlestown High School. As I look back at the past three years, there were several poignant moments when I was struggling with my classes and would have given up trying to achieve my goals. But as a diligent student, I chose to endure those moments. And that is how I become an outstanding student today. National Honor Society honors students who have demonstrated excellence in the areas of scholarship, leadership, service, and character. Being nominated to become a member of the National Honor Society is a highly prestigious honor, and I am very grateful to be a candidate.
Everyday, countless amounts of people are working hard, trying to change the world for the better. They are researching cures for cancer or taking twelve hour shifts to help keep oceans clean. There are people who are working towards a better world, and making life safe for the children in need, the animals in danger, and the men fighting for our country. Seeing these changes happen has motivated me to want to be a part of these developments. I wish to serve those around me, and believe that if I can have a positive impact on my community, it can affect the rest of the world. Therefore, I have made it my goal to be a part of the National Honor Society, in hopes that I can help my school, Middleville, and all who have impacted me. I believe that I represent the characteristics of scholarship, leadership, service, and character, and hope to use these qualities so that others may benefit.
I believe I actively display the four pillars of the National Honor Society, and am honored to be able to prove myself and be considered to become a part of the invaluable experience the National Honor Society provides. The selection process began with my GPA, however I have much more to offer the program. Working alongside my peers and with my coaches and teachers, I have actively displayed not only scholarship, but service, leadership, and character as well. One truly special event that I know I will always remember from my high school years, was being a part of the project called “Second Thoughts”. Along with my completion of a leadership workshop this previous summer, five peers and I were instructed to create a project that addressed
