One evening on a sunny day, there was a young man and woman traveling on I-55 South. They were smoking something and acting strange as well. The young man was speeding because he was trying to hurry home to sell his drugs. As he was speeding, the young lady gave him a sign that there was a police car on the side of the highway, but it was too late. The young man finally stopped and the police asked for his registration and driver’s license and the young man handed them to the officer. As the officer walked towards the vehicle he could smell marijuana. The two young adults tried to hide the drugs but it was too late, the officer caught them hiding them. The officer asked them to step out of the vehicle, and put their hands up on the car. As
In 1949 the Trans-Canada Highway Act was passed by Canada’s Parliament. The Act allowed for the building of a national highway with costs divided between the Federal Government and each provincial government. Construction of the highway began the year after the passing of the Trans-Canada Highway Act, 1950. Seven years after starting construction Saskatchewan finished its section, becoming the first province to do so. The entire highway was not completed until 1971, but Prime Minister John Diefenbaker opened the highway in 1962. The Highway is the world’s longest national road, 7821 kilometers, passing through all 10 provinces. The highway is not a single highway but rather splits into two or three parts in some areas. The main part of
I was pulled over by a police officer because I was going faster than I was supposed to in that designated area. The zone was a sixty-five mile per hour zone and I was do eighty. I have agreed to the terms that I was found guilty of this and now come to you the reader explaining why it may be dangerous to be speeding in certain areas and ultimately everywhere. During this experience I have learned that there are many consequences for not driving safe, because there is never a good reason to speed. I have learned that it is extremely dangerous to speed and that there will be consequences, even if they are minor like, obtaining a ticket, and occasionally they are major, like killing running into someone else. It does not matter what happens after, you should not be speeding ever because there is never a good
I hate driving. I have some trepidation about using that word but hate is due where it’s due. And I hate driving. It might have something to do with the fact that no matter how good a driver I am, my safety is still in the hands of some over-confident twenty-something who is texting, eating, and driving simultaneously. Or maybe it’s the environmentally driven guilt I have while pumping gas. Either way, I just really don’t like driving. But, it was driving that made me realize I felt like an ant. I was in the left turn lane on my way home from a hot afternoon of summer band. The little green traffic arrow lit up and, much like ants following the instruction of a pheromone, we swung our metallic bodies in the instructed direction of travel and
It is 8:45 and Paul has just gotten on the interstate to make his normal commute to Longview from Tyler. About halfway there, Paul notices a state trooper right behind him. He frantically checks his speed! Too late!!!!!! The state trooper turns on his lights. Not only was Paul speeding, but now he will be late to a very important meeting at work.
Speeding is a huge issue on the road for australians. Why is speeding an issue, there are four main reasons why, which are; speeding is a major contributing factor in road crashes, speeding increases the risk of crashing, speeding increases a result of an injury and speeding is a main source of car crash which increases death for passengers or bystanders. There are different types of speeding they are, Low level speeding (5 km/h to 10 km/h), Excessive speeding (Way over the limit), and inappropriate speeding (speeding in bad weather conditions). There are numbers of ways Australia are coming together to create new ways to reduce spedding. Some ways the government are trying to reduce speeding are speed cameras, demerit points and campaigns.
Did you know that in two thousand fourteen there were five thousand nine hundred and thirty three speed related accidents in the state of Kansas of which eighty were fatal?
It was on a burning summer Sunday morning the day I received my initial traffic citation. My best friend and I got this crazy plan the afternoon before it all occurred .We determined that instead of going swimming at the recreational local pool of Tallahassee, we ought to head on in a journey to Panama City beach to enjoy the last week of summer that was left for us. The only problem is that it was 6:00 pm and by the time we arrived at the beach the sun would be hiding in the orient.
Crash! I'm through one tree and into another. Even if no one is around, I always go the speed limit. In certain circumstances, it is best to drive into a ditch instead of over-correcting myself. No matter how much experience I have driving, driving in the snow is not like driving anywhere else. Every desicion I make should be a reflection of what I've learned.
I pushed forward, trying to gulp away the tension between the handlebars and me. Before placing my foot on the pedal, I glared at my dad, hoping to skip this horrible feeling. “Himaja! Get your foot on that pedal! Don't waste anymore time!” my dad hollered forcefully.
Teen driving is unsafe and dangerous, teen driving is the leading cause of teenage deaths in the United States with more than 5,000 teens dying a year. 17 year old Weston Griggs, killed himself and the 2 passengers he had in his car. But, this accident was no accident. Weston was going 70 mph in a 40 mph speed zone. The issue in this story is that young drivers like Weston, inexperienced and full of adrenaline are just hurting them selves and others by getting behind the wheel at such a young age. Teens between the ages 15 through 17 do not belong on the road. Outrageous amounts of teens are dying every year and these numbers are not changing, so why keep them on the road? Teen driving in the United States have three main problems
The ability to drive to me means, that you are capable of following the state driving rules. Almost anyone could drive a car, even a 10 year old. However, safety is another important part of the ability to drive. Therefore, if a person is not safe on the road, then they should not be driving such as, a 10 year old. Each person should also have the skills in which they can operate a car safely. Good vision, the ability to concentrate and reflexes are some important things to have to operate a vehicle safely. I think there are many things which can affect a person’s driving such as, alcohol, drugs, tiredness, cell phones, eyesight and sometimes age. These factors can be very dangerous when combined with driving. They can cause slower reaction times, sleepiness, poor
According to the latest “live” Q4 real GDP growth forecast courtesy of the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta, the US economy is expected to expand +3.3% during the current quarter. Should this expectation prevail, then the economy will have enjoyed three successive quarters of GDP growth in excess of 3%, the first occurrence since 2004 H2 and 2005 Q1. The biggest difference between the aforementioned period and the current environment is the underlying strength of real final sales. Currently, real final sales are averaging +2.8% over the past three quarters, while this metric was a more robust +3.6% during the 2004 H2 and 2005 Q1 period. What are the driving sources behind the recent faster
As Americans we love our cars, trucks, SUVs, and motorbikes for many different reasons. One major reason is that they are an easy and convenient mobility; a personal mode of transportation. It is rather hard to imagine what this county would be like without all the roads and vehicles on them. This is abundantly evident in Arizona, where the majority of us drive to most all of our activities from going to work or taking the kids for an ice cream. We jump into our vehicle and go. However, a curious thing often happens when we get in our car, truck and SUVs. We sometimes change turning into someone different when behind the wheel of our vehicle. We can become inconsiderate and aggressive to other drivers; at times even becoming rude, crude,
A rough and tough type of guy showed up first and yanked him to his feet, barking, "this is not how a man acts, you take responsibility and you call the authorities, you don't sit here and cower like a little school girl!" After a couple minutes of the berating, another police officer, a woman, showed up and told him to lay off and as the male police officer surveyed the crime scene the female took him outside giving him a bottle of water. He wouldn't lie, he was pretty shaken up and told them exactly how it all went down, leaving out that he was high, because they could see that for themselves. It couldn't of been more than thirty minutes, but it felt like hours before they finally put him in the back of the vehicle and turned off his road, taking him down to the precinct for questioning. Watching out the back window, in forward facing cuffs for the cops protection he saw the lights turn colors, the colors mixing in his mind and he rested his head against the back of the seat passing out.
I woke up we were at the gas station to fill up again. As we started on the road, we made several stops to use the restroom, fill up on gas, and grab food and snacks for later. My father and brother switch places to drive. I wanted to drive, but my father would not let me. I was sad and disappointed. It was already dark and my father drove for several hours. My oldest brother and I offered to drive for a while because we knew he was getting tired again. My father refused, we all went back to sleep, two hours have passed and it was very dark on the road.
